To each their own, but I see this as more of a Classic dimit blink deck, with demon flavour I personally use no changelings or shapeshifters purely demons. Nothing wrong in that however, and it does sound good and fun! I plan on using Be'lakor myself, to replace Rakdos the showstopper. And take in some of the cheaper demon token generators, as well as a few blue demons. There were a few cards you mentioned I did not know of that I will definitely try to add if I can find them, and find room for them, I already need to take out quite a few demons. All in all, great video, really enjoyed it ^^
Thanks! Glad you liked it! You can definitely make a very powerful UBR deck with Be'lakor at the helm and just have the demon tribal aspect be a bonus. With a lot of blink effects and just running the more powerful demons you could still get quite the oppressive deck.
@@TheCommanderTavern granted, my deck is mainly based on big demons hitting hard. With some chaos shenanigans mixed in for fun. Also since I don't have some of the more expensive stables. It's the first 60 card deck I ever made from scratch, back in original Theros, and later it became my first commander deck, as I had pretty much just one of each demon anyway 😅 I do like the video however, and no doubt the blinking for effects is strong!
@@Zepulchure Nice! I also started playing Commander after the original Theros when I got tired of Standard for the last time, lol. Playing 7/8 matches each FNM against either the same monoU or monoB devotion decks got very stale very fast.
I've been looking for a good Demon tribal commander for a while. And he also has Terror of the Peaks's effect stapled on? I'm sold! Thanks for the deck tech and ideas as always!
Nice decktech! I went in a similiar direction with my precon after deciding Bel' Akor was way cooler than Abbadon. Just seemed to make sense to really abuse the grixis colouring to cram in as much Copy/flicker/countermagic as possible, as expensive creatures that care about etb's benefit so heavily from it. Esspecially funny if you manage to copy the cost reduction Demon once or twice and start dropping 6/6 flyers as 1-drops. One thing im wondering however, how come you always include Snow/Slow Duals over stuff like Bond, Check or Pain-Lands? Esspecially in a 3 colour deck like this i always found myself hurting for flexible mana that comes in untapped the turn i draw into it.
Thanks! Glad you liked it! I do it to keep it relatively budget. Plus, if you needed an untapped land you can just fetch for a shock or a basic; if you don't need the mana at that moment then fetch for a slow or snow dual. But I own the ABUR dual lands so I can play with those instead of the slow duals and can thus run the battlebond lands instead of the snow duals. My dream is for the bicycle and tango land megacycle to get completed. That way you can fetch for better lands with the potential of entering the battlefield untapped (on a budget) and the bicycle lands can be cycled away if you needed the draw.
If you like Gyruda and want to add it, go for it. But, if you do, you'd have to add a reanimation package because you're not always guaranteed to reanimate anything with it. That being said, since Be'lakor has an even CMC, you could go through all the work of making Gyruda your companion. But honestly, that might be too much effort for what it's worth. I don't think that juice is worth the squeeze.
For sure you could definitely go a different tribe to get that value. But lower CMC creatures won't necessarily have the power to deal significant damage. Except for Vexing Devil.
Would cloudstone curio be good here? Would allow you to always take advantage of etb effects and replay your leader anytime you draw a new demon. They're expensive but as soon as you hit runeskar or something feels like you'd probably just win especially if you hit one of tmyour cheap clones. Not sure what to cut for it.
Honestly I wouldn't even put Cloudstone Curio in. Demons are a beefy tribe in terms of casting cost. At that point I'd rather just include more ways of blinking demons than bouncing them, since that bypasses casting costs altogether. But blinking them has been quite successful so I feel like Cloudstone Curio is unnecessary at that point.
I did mention in the beginning that you could add whatever demons you want to your own build ;) That being said, Rakdos, Lord of Riots is a great way to reduce the costs of your demons. Just gotta be wary with how difficult he is to cast - not just in color restriction but in the stipulation that opponents have lost life beforehand.
Unfortunately I am already swamped by all the incessant releases by WotC 😩 I don't think I'll have the opportunity to revisit any past commanders any time soon. Sorry!
I hope they slow down the releases. I think they’re releasing too much and it’s gonna burn everyone out. I don’t even make content and I’m already giving up keeping track of all that’s coming out haha
Demons! Nice. I really like this. The ninjitsu was an awesome surprise. Thank you for another dope build!
Thanks! Glad you liked it! :)
Love the deck! Just found your channel, can't wait to check out your other vids.

Toborax, shadowborn apostles, demons and thrumming stone. It's my favorite deck.

Sim spirit guide, bloodpet any 2 drop mana dork really speeds up the deck
