At first when Greater Neck of was revealed I thought nothing of it. I laughed and called him short. But as his neck lengthened and he began towering over me I finally understood the threat this demonic beast poses. The signature move Nimble Neck Knock increases in power as its neck gets longer, auto-crits and has a 50% chance to damage all your remaining pokemon. Whatever employee at gamefreak dreamt up this heinous beast must come forward and help us stop Greater Neck, before Ubers RU is destroyed for good.
The mention of it being unable to hit ground-types super-effectively has given me the crazy idea of running it on rain teams rather than sun teams. Then it gets water-type Weather Ball and can use Thunder for a consistent strong electric move as well.
Weather Ball really does give it some interesting options. Can run it on a snow team for an Ice type Weather Ball if you want to nuke both grass and ground types super effectively.
torkoal + slowking for fire + ice weather balls after chilly reception, Walking wake as the fast sun abuser and Great Neck as the bulky wallbreaker sounds amazing
Your dragon STAB ought to be enough to handle or at least get good damage on those, save the relatively uncommon Iron Treads (which gets smashed by fire type weather ball)
a little known secondary effect of Thunderclap is that every time Raging Bolt uses it, it switches to another of the alternate formes shown in this video.
Raging Neck is excellent on rain teams as well. Thunder and Water-type Weather Ball give it extra power and a way to combat Ground types respectively. It's very versatile in whqt twams it fits in.
raikou's viability improved so much and all it took was giving it a long neck, maybe the only thing meganium actually needs to be viable is for them to make its neck longer

Raging Bolt has invaded my home. I heard neck-related noises from my closet and opened it to see the raikou's neck had grown enormous. I tried to run, but could not outpace the protosythesis-boosted dinosaur. I cried, "This is Insane!" before the calm mind boosted draco meteor killed me instantly.

I recently switched a Gliscor into Raging Bolt, expecting him to be safe from his monstrous Thunderclap. What I had failed to consider is that an Ice-type Weather Ball, aided by Great Neck's great friend "Slowking" using Chilly Reception would be devastating.
Big fan of Hydrapple. Ever since I was a little boy I dreamed of a Grass/Dragon Pokemon hoping one day GameFreak would have one on the cover art of their next game. First came Mega Sceptile, who tapped into his dragon side in generation 6. But without any special attacking coverage it quickly fell from grace. Second came Alolan Exeggutor who fired false claims of his dragon heritage, for he was still the same special attacker but with an exclusive physical move. As if to spite me, Generation 8 brought the first pair of original Grass/Dragon types, Flapple and Appletun. However, not only were the 2 given the same Gigantamax form, but they both had mediocre stats that betrayed the Dragon typing. I cried, wondering if GameFreak was incapable of making a good Grass/Dragon. They even gave applin a new evolution that came with a unique ability, but even that alone wouldn’t be enough to save it. But there was still hope, for Dipplin was capable of holding Eviolite, meaning it could still evolve. Finally, GameFreak has released Hydrapple, the one true Grass/Dragon type. With two great abilities in Regenerator and Supersweet Syrup, Hydrapple has utility in both singles and doubles. Hydrapple also has coverage, which is something the typing has lacked for a long time. Earth power provides great ground coverage the fakes could only dream of. With its new signature move, the whole Hydrapple family can come together and make Draco Meteor look like a joke. Hydrapple has become a member of my family, they receive love and care under our supervison. Every day I wake up in fear of another failure, but Hydrapple is there by my side to assure me that it’s ok. Thank you Hydrapple.
I love that all 3 of the legendary beasts paradox mons are this good, I think Raging Bolt is the weakest of the 3 personally but he's still quite solid, people need to start remembering that Walking Wake still exists, I've been using him a lot and he's better than ever atm

I'd love to see you cover Hydrapple. I've used it in my in-game playthrough, and whenever someone didn't have Ice Coverage, it's been pretty reliable. Though in-game is a different story, I was happy to see Finchinator place it in Medium Viability for his preliminary viability rankings.
I mean to its credit, Great neck design is based around sauropods, dinossaurs with long necks and tails, and specially on brontossaurus wich means "Thunder Lizard" in latin wich I think is really cool. That being said we can't really take this thing seriously when it looks so freaking goofy lmao. Raikou went to the Gyropractor and it didn't end well.
Also important to note that in game it has the same gimmick as exeggutor A where it's head isn't on screen and both are the only pokemon that know dragon hammer, it's very silly
I think Cinccino is a good pokemon to talk about. Technician + loaded dice gives it a much higher damage output than before. Triple Axel threatens bulky ground types like Gliscor and Great Tusk. Good utility in knock off, uturn, and even tidy up. Knock off is especially good for threatening Gholdengo. Rock Blast for Zapdos. It's still walled by steel types and even then you have Tera Fighting/Fire/Ground for them. I think it might finally have a chance to shine, both as a niche ou option and definitely in the lower tiers!
i hope that when you talk about Gouging Fire you talk about the interesting defensive niche it has on sun teams. uninvested flare blitz in sun still hits really hard, and fully invested proto defense + boosted morning sun make it nearly unkillable on the physical side, especially when it spreads burns with burning bulwark. the fact that it's a fire type pretty much necessitates boots, which sucks, but the fairly reliable recovery of sun-boosted morning sun makes up for not having the longevity of leftovers in my experience. i feel like the all-out dragon dance attacking sets are probably better at the end of the day with the chi yu-tier calcs you can get with it but i like my set. its mine and i thought of it myself
i couldn't really figure out a good fourth move so i gave mine roar, but i feel like dragon tail would probably be better when i think about it. i haven't checked if it gets it but if raging bolt does i'm assuming it has to as well
I've been using this thing in AAA since its movepool and typing is insanely good with hadron engine(hadron engine rising voltage, go figure). its speed is just good enough for scarf sets to work, and even in scarf sets thunderclap is useful if your opponent boosted their speed up too high or against a faster scarfer
I feel like booster energy in rain or snow could also be interesting. In rain, you can use thunder for its sheer power and beat ground types with weather ball. In snow, you get bolt beam coverage.
In mid ladder, Sun Great Neck teams seem to be struggling against its Great brother. Great Tusk can abuse the opponent’s Sun for an Atk or Spd boost to extremely threaten Great Neck. The priority Thunderclap will not work against Great Tusk, and Great Neck will not live a Headlong Rush unless it Teras. I think Great Neck sets will adapt, but as for right now, I definitely recommend queueing up with Great Tusk.
