- In this video, I have the Mountune M225 Stage 1 Re-Map installed to the MK8 Fiesta ST and give you my reaction to it and how it's changed the car.

Do you actually need an air filter ? Or it's ok just with the chip ?
Adelmo Mandia If you are referring to the Mountune map, I believe it’s sold as a package - so yes. If referring to Revo, no you don’t need an uprated filter.

Just fitted my Mountune M225 a few days back👍 Like you say... I’ve no point of reference with a mk8 Revo or whatever, but it made me smile just that little bit more 😁 💥🔥

Peak power isn't everything. A flexible engine and good, usable torque wherever you are in the rev range is more important than having a 250 HP peak figure.
Hello, how do you use the fog lights upgrade as dipped beams?
I have the m225 map aswell. I find the way the power comes in much smoother than stock aswell. I can put my foot to the floor in second and the wheels wont spin up like before. Very happy with it
how a gwaranty ?
Good insight into the kit! I plan to fit it to mine along the line, although it's difficult to justify it now, since we get a 7 year manufacturer warranty over here. It's a shame, I'd like that little bit more power and linearity but I don't think it's worth it in my situation.
The car is fantastic straight out of the box.

Very good video. The mountune map looks very good and definitely makes a difference to the car. I've got the revo map and that is well sorted too. If yo uj r ever in South Wales let me know!

Great vid mate. The Mk8 has only just been released down here in Oz 🇦🇺 and I’m seriously considering getting my hands on one. Interestingly, Ford Australia teamed up with Mountune and covered their various Fiesta Mk7 upgrade kit (if fitted by Ford from new) under the new car warranty. If fitted (by Ford) to pre-owned cars the warranty was the balance of the new car warranty or 12months/20,000km. Fingers crossed they come to the same agreement with the Mk8. For info: Ford has only one model here in Oz is: 4 door with all performance options as standard fit (sunroof and metallic paint the only options) drive-away price $36,000 AUS - cheaper than the UK 🇬🇧
Hi I will be buying a brand new mk8 fiesta st and coming out of a 1.4 17 plate corsa. I have spoken to t wall Ford in kingswinford Dudley and I did ask them about the mountune upgrade and Ford actually fit mountune and they ARE still covered under warranty and I also had another 2 second opinions from other people from there and they confirmed what the first person said. I do like revo, peron etc but for warranty purposes I will go with mountune. Keep the vids coming mate. 👍
paul massey Mountune remap IS NOT covered by warranty. This is coming from a Mk8 ST owner who has spoken to both Mountune and Revo. I opted for the Revo map as a result of neither map being warranty friendly.
Hi Paul thanks for the comment, love to get that in writing I spoke to my dealer last week who confirmed the opposite. Not saying your wrong but keen to get confirmation for all. They may be referring to the MK7 Mountune Stage 1 kit which is covered under Ford warranty however I am pretty certain this has NOT been carried over to the MK8 but happy to be proved wrong for sure. Thanks for the support

@@totaledbifftv9083 Obviously we have diff cars but the upgrades seem to have provided similar benefits. Happy with mine and the service. Out of interest, is yours a ford warranted upgrade?

Guys, maybe you could help me. I'm looking for a new small hot hatch to replace my 208 BPS (By Peugeot Sport) and i visited Ford. The new ST Plus is charming but chassis vs chassis, which one is the best? ST or BPS... About break system, is it Brembo 4 pistons like 208 BPS? How much does it cost Mountune kit ? Thanks y'all for your answer.
Some (hopefully constructive) criticism:
1: The video is waaaay too long, it’s basically 15+ minutes of you talking about a topic where you also need to show something. Which brings me to point 2: you should have taken some 0-60 or 1/4 mile runs before and after the map. Maybe show people how the map is installed, there is an app, and so on...something else than just you going on and on.
3: the audio is terrible. There’s too much car, wind, road noise. You might as well have filmed this in your home since you are not really showing us anything.

Thanks for the video, for me moutune is the way to go, i know you got no ford warranty as of yet, but at least you get some sort of a warranty with mountune 12000 miles or a year i think. And they give a great service and after sales as well. Yes a little bit more expensive, but overall you get what you pay for. Looking forward to going back to mountune hq for mine soon
lee anderson you don’t get any warranty coverage with the Mk8 ST remap.
As Leon said, you don't get any warranty with this as it completely voids it, so whats the point with the low power when mainstream tuners are pushing the engine?
Joshua Briscoe everyone says these engines are going to go bang blah blah... that Revo are pushing the engine too hard. Well I think extensive testing has taken place by Revo over the last year to ensure this engine has not gone bang before releasing the final product. I am so pleased with mine and it’s changed the car so much! The only advantage the Mountune has over Revo is the fact you can revert back to stock or if the ECU is updated by a dealer at service and wiped the remap. Other than that I’m dead chuffed with mine
@@leonmason77 Agreed. Same with other mainstream dealers. I'm personally (well was until my Mk 7 ST Line got totaled) was with Collins and their maps never had any problems or issues. Ran a stage 4 on it from 10k miles and was flawless I've now got myself a MK 7 ST-3 which will also go Collins. The only thing now is Collins really need to up their game if Mountune are getting 225 BHP out of theirs the only difference is that Mountune is stupidly expensive for what it needs to be and I can't understand why people go to them. Not only that, they never have anything in stock.
Joshua Briscoe agreed, I was looking at the PumaSpeed remap and was not impressed with their gains, so decided to wait for the Revo and Mountune offerings. But I’m still surprised at Mountune’s output, the cost and as you say they’ve never got any items in stock. I’m definitely glad I went for the Revo, but I don’t think the Mountune map is by any means a poor product.

How’s this been reliability wise mate since you’ve had it installed? Been waiting for so long to take the plunge but just worried about warranty... remember when I first got the ST and the mechanics at my local Ford dealer were saying Ford Perfomance were planning a tune but this was over a year ago and nothing yet 😂

TheBnelo yeah early info suggests better economy for sure but will monitor and share detailed info in due course, haven’t clocked the 0-60 time yet will do that on another video 👍

Totaled Biff TV yeah mate not knocking your decision at all, just if I was deciding which to go for I’d rather 250hp over 225 lol. Especially since they cost the same and both void the warranty. But I’m betting it feels a million times better over stock
HearthJunkie I’m loving my Revo map, so much more driveable now. If I was going to invalidate the warranty then why not go for more power? 🤷♂️
Leon TheProfessional exactly, the main selling point of mountune has always been that they produce less power than their competitors but retained the warranty which is fine. But now that they void the warranty they have put themselves right up against the big boys like peron, revo and maxxd which are all around the 250 mark for the same price as mountune. And in the case of revo doesn’t even need a new intake.
Off topic from the map but the rear lights look different from standard? Also is there a spolier extension now fitted too?
Yep, rear lights have been tinted and yes Maxton Carbon Rear Spoiler also fitted. I have the rest of the body kit to do which I will video the process on
Totaled Biff TV ok cool. Look forward to the vid. The rear lights are the only thing letting the mk8 down imo - really needed to be LED inkeeping with the fronts.

Mountune are expensive but they got the best research .. Go Mountune it will be safe spending over 20k on a fiesta i know what brand i would stick to ..Also over 30 years working with ford pay the fee be safe :)
Yeah I mean like you say spending 20k+ on a car and comparing costs differences of like 200.00 is kinda silly bearing in mind you could spend 1k on wheels and get 0 performance increase just visuals as a comparison

The Revo has more bhp but less torque and it’s torque you need so Mountune for me and Mountune doesn’t void your warranty it didn’t on the mk7 from what I can remember

For reference, Revo has approx 360nm torque vs Mountune’s 340nm (claimed stats). My car made 447nm of torque on the Dyno... make of that what you will!
What else have you done to get the extra torque??

Race chip dynoed a stock car at 218bhp & 315nm torque. Don’t think the m225 is really worth the £600
Hey Mark this was for the Air-box and panel filter also not just the map and you get the Btooth ODB port reader as well. But I guess it’s really a personal thing about who your happy with tuning your car no judgment from me either way on other maps I just felt Mountune was the best company for me 👍
All that time and money spent And a bloke in an old 330 diesel beemer will still out accelerate it 😂
