Well done Zipcore and Tallman Brad this is a very useful playlist of vids for those interested in mapping in 7 Days to Die.

Thanks Goldfingers. Zipcore has done a great job, producing some essential map-maker's software. Documentation being pretty light on the ground, hopefully these tutorials will be a good start for users to put the software to use.

I've been distracted by another project in 7dtd recently but the next video should be on roads hopefully.

Yes! To the roads with the gravel borders, please. drawing them in GIMP sucks. I thank you so much for all these tutorials👍

You're welcome JD. I'm pleased you're finding the tutorials useful. Thanks for commenting too. I really appreciate the feedback. You'll love the road system I've worked out. Makes it so much easier to draw them and you end up with really tidy roads, unless you want them messy of course 😉

Didn't read the description when clicking on the video, so got a bit surprised when I heard "remove the hills". I thought the video was about moving a real city!

after moving the first poi building and going back into the map to move the whole city. i noticed that the previously moved poi is not on your map at all. and the pavement is still in the same spot as before you moved it.

In my map? That was before loading the map in game. Those remnants are just ghosts and don't appear in game.

So i have a question, i made a base and when i go to world editor it doesnt show up, when i put my custom pio inside the world it shows up on the world editor but even after saving the world, when i open the savegame its not there, is that because the game does not see that land outside the city as a plot that can be changed? and if so can i make it a plot?

This is a tricky one. In order to have your base placeable on a map in world editor it needs to be saved as a poi.
To do that you can go into a normal game, enable debug (f1,DM) then use the 'Z' key to drop a blue selection box at one corner of your poi. Then drag the box wider/taller using Ctrl and the arrows in the box on screen. Once your whole base is highlighted use Ctrl+c to copy it. Immediately quit the game, go into the poi editor, choose to make a new poi, then use Ctrl+v to paste your copied base.
I know that's long winded but if you want to move or place a base that you made in game, that's what you'll need to do.
I hope this helps a little. Ideally you could check out a video (I haven't done one) on making your own poi to see any additional steps.

If you've already made a poi in the editor and placed it on the map using the world editor, you'll need to either start a new game or do a chunk reset where the poi is placed.
Visit the area, F1, DM, type "chunkreset f". Depending on the size of the poi you may need to run that command a couple of times, moving to the areas where there are parts of your poi missing.

Your comment is way more useless than this video.
