Me to bro this channel has what other channels simply do not offer starting off with hardly any gear is so daunting and he shows how to make a lot with a little
Forget the lighting tips, I just thought it was really sweet that Sarah brought you food... and even glammed it up with fancy ketchup and mustard swirls! Mate, she’s a keeper (that was genuinely the part of the video that left the biggest emotional impact on me).
not only was everything wildly useful, but that Chinese lantern idea wrapped with a garbage bag was a crazy little gem you didn’t have to drop in there. ty!
how man, i just met you and im so happy i found someone that teach and have that desire to help, you made my day, you inspire thousands thank you so much!!!!
Honestly idk how all this happened, but I get the urge to like Brady's videos within the first 2 seconds. Not even kidding or anything, I legit just felt that urge.
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my TH-cam channel 9 months ago about self development. Now I have 1,707 subs and > 1k hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.
Thank you for saying "film looks" and not youtube's most cliched term "cinematic". It made the difference between me watching or not watching. Also nice ideas! In fact, your use of the grid inspired me to try that for an upcoming project I'm working on where that'd be totally appropriate.
This is AMAZING! It's amazing how much knowing how to use gear is infintely more important then gear itself. That said I realy need to invest in a good light.
Fantastic Class as usual. My favourite has always been the Rembrandt lighting yes. But I was pretty impressed at the hard backlighting and the top lighting. Thank you once again. I hope you hit 50K before the EOY!
You might've just sold me on the Nanlite _and_ the 28mm Vazen lol; I've been using the 40mm for a few months now and love it. The 28mm is on my short list after a few more project checks clear. Either way, I'm using your links for sure. And subbed!
Great man been an actor for years and always had the eye for directions so I’m learning lighting etc at the mo and you’d channel is very inspiring. I love photography and playing with flash light but constant light is what I want to master. I’m following you now, so Looking forward to seeing your other stuff
Thanks from the heart for these excellent suggestions, brother! And your dark/moody acting at 2:35 is ON POINT, man; I'm very impressed! I'm gonna start calling you "Brady Bates." 😅 Once again, much love and appreciation for you and Sara, you two are Legendary Talents. All the Best. Carlos
7:50 - that look every cinematographer has when they are going to haze up the room, haha! It always creates great results! Thanks for a great video, champ! I love these kind of videos, man
amazing video:) the best channel on youtube for sure!!! Could you explain how you set your white balance in camera when you use different lights and practicals?
This is a super good tutorial. I would like to add there is a key thing that you do in every shot that for me when I figured this out was a huge difference maker in my lighting, which is shooting shadow side.
I came across you fairly recently and I'm so glad I did! Lots of useful information for noobs like me. Thank you! By the way, I noticed from this video that you don't shoot in S-Log? Keep doing what you're doing!
Very helpful tips! Thank you :) Could you share names and links to all of your equipment please (lights, filters, camera)? I would love to experiment with self-recorded home videos so your tips would also be highly appreciated. You rock!
I love your tutorials and the fact that you show the setups. I've learned so much from this tutorial. I can't wait to put it into play. Just joined your discord as well.
As a cinematographer learning the ropes, I'm very interested in lighting, and this channel has helped me a whole lot!! Thank you Brady!!!
Thank you sooo much!!
Me to bro this channel has what other channels simply do not offer starting off with hardly any gear is so daunting and he shows how to make a lot with a little
You mean as a "filmmaker" right? Like no hate, but cinematographer is a DOP
Learning Cinematographer?😂😂 that’s like saying as a learning swat officer, cinematographer is a big title, you’re a film maker
Being a noob aspiring film maker with literally 0 budget, this gives me hope. Truly creativity is the key! Thanksss!
I'm really glad it helps! cheers and best of luck film friend!
Forget the lighting tips, I just thought it was really sweet that Sarah brought you food... and even glammed it up with fancy ketchup and mustard swirls! Mate, she’s a keeper (that was genuinely the part of the video that left the biggest emotional impact on me).

That piano backlight scene was so good!
Thank you a lot it’s my favorite!!

Really great shots!
The Rembrandt lighting was used as a term to describe his lighting in the movies, by the great Cecil B. Demille. Nice vid!
Bless you 🥺I've only made short films with a greenscreen and literally no lighting setup whatsoever. I can do more now after watching your videos 💜
