5:15 these things are quite a good form of therapy for me sometimes. Him preventing her from meeting his parents and telling her how she’s going to react. In my life I’ve been on the receiving end of that in a big way (only recently I’ve found out the absolute lies I’ve been told about others throughout my life, and there’s evidence to suggest I was most likely the main victim of being painted in a certain way to others too). So here’s how it plays out (I couldn’t imagine how bad it would be if it required said person translating). I meet someone, am careful with what I say because of all of the bad things I’ve heard. They are off with me because they think I’m an asshole before and after. Mostly I got this sense of how pleasantly surprised they were that we were having a nice conversation. I’d get back home only to be told some horrible things were said behind my back and so a cycle of animosity built. I was a child when it happened, and so fucked up are things that I just sound mental if I talk about it or ask any of the said family members if I speak to them so 🤷♂️ and for anyone wanting to say it might not play out like that if I try to get answers, well I did try with my dad on a different subject but instead of helping he got pissed off. And I feel like the mental one again. They’re not even together and he (to a point) knows what she’s like. Anyway back to this situation, it will be interesting to see whether his mum is anything like what he has painted her to be. Maybe she is, but from my experience never rely on someone else for information about others. Wipe all that from your mind when you meet them, because there could be someone manipulative behind it. Tragic really. 13:00 She not only gets thrown under the bus like that but if my experience is anything to go by, she’ll get thrown under the bus again when it finally comes out. And if he’s really good at manipulating people, don’t worry about the fact we can see who’s responsible for not telling anyone for ourselves. Or at least in my experience of dealing with someone close that takes zero accountability, lies constantly and tries to cause rifts and is probably on a level of her own, that’s how it works. 5:15 these things are quite a good form of therapy for me sometimes. Him preventing her from meeting his parents and telling her how she’s going to react. In my life I’ve been on the receiving end of that in a big way (only recently I’ve found out the absolute lies I’ve been told about others throughout my life, and there’s evidence to suggest I was most likely the main victim of being painted in a certain way to others too).
So here’s how it plays out (I couldn’t imagine how bad it would be if it required said person translating). I meet someone, am careful with what I say because of all of the bad things I’ve heard. They are off with me because they think I’m an asshole before and after. Mostly I got this sense of how pleasantly surprised they were that we were having a nice conversation. I’d get back home only to be told some horrible things were said behind my back and so a cycle of animosity built. I was a child when it happened, and so fucked up are things that I just sound mental if I talk about it or ask any of the said family members if I speak to them so 🤷♂️ and for anyone wanting to say it might not play out like that if I try to get answers, well I did try with my dad on a different subject but instead of helping he got pissed off. And I feel like the mental one again. They’re not even together and he (to a point) knows what she’s like.
Anyway back to this situation, it will be interesting to see whether his mum is anything like what he has painted her to be. Maybe she is, but from my experience never rely on someone else for information about others. Wipe all that from your mind when you meet them, because there could be someone manipulative behind it. Tragic really.

And if he’s really good at manipulating people, don’t worry about the fact we can see who’s responsible for not telling anyone for ourselves. He will have that covered too by convincing them it was edited to look that way. And if she reacts anything but nice (the mother doesn’t know that all that’s caused a bit of tension she will have noticed is her asking a reasonable question) she will be remembered as a difficult woman because frankly, even if the brothers caught what she said, it is too small a detail to remember and pick up on, so her being difficult becomes fact).
Or at least in my experience of dealing with someone close that takes zero accountability, lies constantly and tries to cause rifts and is probably on a level of her own, that’s how it works. The best thing she can do is just walk away.
