Absolutely amazing! I love the way you just “go for it “! How very kind of you to share your secrets with us. That’s the kind of girl you are and that is part of the reason you are so respected in this community! Love your new kitchen! Love, love, love your new studio space! I’m thinking about all of the wonderful things you will now be able to create. Talk about great lighting….WOW! You really deserve all of these wonderful new things. I’m so happy for you. Please keep up with the great ideas! Also thought the picture of you and your daughter, Lily, you shared as she was ready to go to prom was very special. Thanks for sharing. The pic of you and Patrick in front of the new house is Christmas Card worthy. All the best in your future endeavors.
Great video thank you for sharing I’m going to have to try this type of dying. Love the colors of your fabric they came out beautiful 🤩 Have a wonderful day and happy stitching 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
So interesting! Thank you for showing this technique. Just found your channel today from Nicola at Bumble Stitches and am binge watching them lol Really enjoying everything you show. Suzette
I love your kitchen! Lots of great tips here for experimenting with solar-activated dyes. I had questions about achieving pastel colors which you answered beautifully for me. Also, I'd never heard of the brand you used. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Happy holidays and a happier, healthier, more prosperous 2022.
Kari, I love them! The art supply store for one of my daughter’s colleges has a huge assortment of fabric dye types and colors. I may need to go and give it a try.
That is incredible! I love all the colors, but OMG that purplish lilac one has me drooling!! Thank You for taking us along on your little experiment!!!😍😍😍👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks for sharing Kari!!💚 Love the look of dyeing fabrics - but I don’t know if I can handle the mess. 😬 I’m that mean mom that disallows glitter in the house. 😂
@@TigerLilyDesigns Play doh was almost disallowed. My kids had some for a little while - but could only use it on the kitchen island counter - and therefore could be cleaned up. But I also talked them out of getting it out at all many times🤣
This has been very interesting! I won't be doing any dyeing myself but I have taken down your information and will keep your shop in mind when I need a piece of Aida. I might have already bought from you because shop name is familiar.
Looks great. 3 questions. 1.Do you know if it's color fast? 2. Do you know if bleach will lighten it? I'd like to enhance the lighter areas. 3. Do you know if the sun will continue the color process after you finish your cross stitch project?
Due to age and health, looks like aida and I will be bff's! I am getting ready to experiment with coloring and am curious...have you tried acrylic paint with a fabric medium? I am going to play around with that first.
This was sooo interesting to watch. when you showed the pale baby pink and said there is a bit of purple here, maybe from my gloves - wouldn`t that be COOL to intentionally wet your gloves in a contrasting color and then do your „arranging on the board“ for a different color with the „drips“ from the gloves???!!!
I have some Aida that I ordered online that is darker than I wanted. Can it be bleached or lightened in some way? Just wondered if anyone tried it. Thanks!
Looks like fun! Beautiful results!
I’m loving Aida more and more! Thanks!
*Slides in* 108° in Northern Virginia? (August, a year ago,) I remember and offer a hearty neighbor hello!
Thank you for this Aida dying guide.
That dye is wild! How fun. Would be so fun to do with kids too.
Great idea stitch together for blanket top or sewing machine together

Thanks so much for checking me out! Happy Stitching XOXO Kari
Thanks for sharing! I assume that this would work on evenweave as well? I'll have to look at what the fabric is made of

OMG! An art supply store....what a great idea! Might have to find a local one of those.....dyeing is very addicting.

HA! I was the no play doh mom because of the mess so I get you!

Glad you enjoyed it. Right now I'm only dyeing for personal use....maybe one day I will sell some fabric.

1. Yes
2. No It won't
3. Mildly in prolonged sunlight possibly yes
Loved this! So fun to watch you😄. Can this dye be used on any fabric? I think I will have to try this dye out! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! Haven't tested it on anything other than Aida....might need to :)
Due to age and health, looks like aida and I will be bff's! I am getting ready to experiment with coloring and am curious...have you tried acrylic paint with a fabric medium? I am going to play around with that first.
I haven't tried the painting technique yet, can't wait to hear how it goes.
Kari have you ever dyed with coffee/tea? Want to try it fir my first dyeing experience but need a good tutorial 😁
So can you wash your stitching on this when finished with the project?
I don’t wash my stitching. I don’t believe the fabric is colorfast so I won’t wash it
How do you keep aida from shrinking when dieting.
It does shrink a little, but in my experience it is only from 14 ct to a 15/16 ct. sorry I can’t be more help
Lovely. It does bug me how you keep saying modeling instead of marbling 😆
