And now he's the worst heavy in the game. Bowser is placing high at tournaments, Nairo is reverse 3-0ing Light with Ganondorf, and a Japanese pro is dunking on Shuton and Zackray with Pirahna Plant of all characters
😂he’s at least one of the better heavies on WiFi and at mid level
But because he’s considered bottom tier, it leads a lot of people to underestimate him or to not understand the matchup. It makes it easy to clown on people who have a pretentious attitude against characters like K Rool. Regardless of what you think of him, it’s nice to see tournaments that are more than just peaches and pichus.

Better buff other heavyweights, Id like to see more viable heavyweights. He doesnt seem "broken" either because of the breakable super armor. If you're against a K Rool spamming super armor moves, just hit it and they'll be forced to stop or they armor break stun
I personally don’t count him as a true heavyweight but Snake might be better.

yeah, as shown in the vid he's NOT OP, he's a slow tank. Faster characters can still run around him, and grabs get around his armor
Dirk McNasty down smash can get off screen at 20% , and he’s the first heavy that can control the offscreen
Olivier Latestere shielding and not running into a k rool charging down smash works real well
There was also the fact that the guy playing as him (weegee) wasn't as skilled with him and I'm pretty sure he said something like that in the video. Just saying.

I fought a level 9 Pikachu who perfect shielded the first 3 hits Zelda's F Smash, shielded the last two, and grabbed me out of it. These things can be brutal sometimes. Sometimes though, a computer just suicides repeatedly. I remember Ike, Wolf, and ROB being a pain to unlock.
Well they WERE tested by competitive Japanese players to make sure they could be a threat to even good players. Was probably influenced by the 20XX mod for melee.
At least if the ai is strong they are good to train against

Dip The Cat Simon's shield was hit by K. Rool's get up attack before that. His down smash doesn't break a fully healthy shield, but Bowsers down B does, so I guess he needs a nerf uh? Learn the match up, and let the game develope a meta before you start calling for nerfs.

One thing I noticed in a lot of King K. Rool matches is that no one seems to use his counter to punish people offstage. Like that Pikachu headbutt at around 4:44 could have been punished by his counter, or that Falcon knee at 6:45. It's probably just that most people still aren't used to a heavy having a counter.
He could never defeat Lex from Bookworm Adventures Deluxe.
