There’s really no reason for it to break unless you force it to bend back more than it should. For the lag just make sure there’s not too many obstacles between the device and your router.

So what a lot of people don't realise happens with external devices that disconnect randomly.... is there is actually a setting when you go into device manager, then into your device settings there is actually a power management setting that is often default ticked that says 'allow computer to turn off device to save power' you need to turn this off especially if you are gaming.... That shit is common knowledge you are just being played by an idiot who didn't bother to learn tech.
I went ahead and did a little more research and you have to download the drivers for it off of another computer or laptop that has internet connection put the files on a usb stick then upload the files do your computer that doesn’t have the internet connection.

You have to have internet unfortunately to download the drivers. Or download the file on a usb drive from your laptop then transfer those files to your desktop.

Why do you not show any speed test? Can you reach 1300 mbps that you say in your thumbnail? There's many on the internet that have this and can't even reliably obtain 200mbps
I am in need of assistance with this adapter. So I've done exactly as instructed step by step and when I did my first speed test I got 10mbps on my desktop (vs. the 5 or less I was getting through our downstairs Netgear family router with internet through Windstream). But then, like, not even 5 minutes later it slows WAY down. When I did another speed test I, no kidding, got a 0.2mbps download speed. I tried plugging it into my 3.0, into one of the back ports, uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers 10 times but I've yet to get consistent results. I'm sad but I'm holding out hope someone here can help me out. Thanks for reading!
You are not alone. I recently noticed mine is doing that too with no luck of me finding a solution. Mine is capping at 54 in link speeds. This is insane. I would love to find a solution as well!
Pretty stupid you have to install software from the internet when I bought a product to be able to access the internet, I’ve use other usb dongles that don’t require this.
Do not believe anything positive anyone says about this router unless you want to be playing on about 14 ping and STILL teleporting around the map and lagging so hard that you begin to feel strong feelings of hate towards the BestBuy employee that convinced you to buy it.
I've used it since it's release and it's been great. You should set your zone to your current address and do a packetloss test. which is usually an issue with the nbn fibre getting interference more than it is a connection from your wifi device to router/modem. Or just look up how to test your computers packets from command prompt bro. Then contact your service provider. Cause this thing is on the other end of my home and im in the furthest room. Even with 4 bars. I get literally 0 lag spikes.
THIS IS TERRIBLE DESIGN!!!! The vast majority of PC's do not have a CD drive anymore and if you are buying a network adaptor to get internet, you don't have internet to go online to install the driver.

excellent adapter, im getting 250 mbps with 11ping ( when nobody else is on my wifi ) using spectrum internet. speeds pretty much as fast at ethernet

Windows 10 should be plug and play. You dont need the Netgear Genie to get this to work.
