I’ve always love the Z32 300ZX. I feel it’s one of the most underrated JDM 90’s cars and definitely the most underrated Z. This one was built in his garage from the ground up making 900hp with the dyno sheet to prove it. This is also the cleanest one I’ve seen in person. It’s definitely a head turner.

Nicely done! These cars don’t need body kits or giant wings. So many of these were destroyed by young kids that watch to much fast an furious and TH-cam. Subtle mods go a very long way with a car that was already beautiful from Nissan…

Hats off to Mauricio. When i first met him years ago his car was just a NA with simple bolt ons. He now has a beast. His dedication and hard work definetely paid off.

Its so refreshing to see a Z32 with the original VG30DETT these days with some serious hp. All those 2jz,RB qnd SR20 swaps takes away from the value of the car. Ive even seen a video of a VR38DETT swapped into a Z32. Yes. We all know the VG30DETT is not the easiest engine to work on.
I like seeing all the crazy swaps in all kinds of cars but yes it is cool to see one that was actually built on the original platform.

In 1992 I saw a factory black Nissan 300zx Stillen GTZ at a family friends exotic car dealership. He had just picked it up at Dallas auto auction and I was mind blown at the time. I still lust after that car. It was $23,500 in 1992 used. I regret not buying it and still think about it today in 2022.

Everyone wants a Supra or GTR but this was one i used to bookmark back in the day on Craigslist when they popped up. Unfortunately never got one.

Later in the video, you can see how fast that white pickup truck in the rearview just disappears. I miss my 300z so much. And mine only made 440hp to the wheels and I thought that was fast as hell.
@@brandonlanham7841 that was my truck. lol not sure which clip you’re talking about but one of us was driving it while the other rode in the Z. 440 is stout in these cars too.

“Depends on what you're looking for.
If you want the "best" engine a 94-95 is the best. If you want better chassis 91-95 are all good. 90s are kinda ehhh”

@@jz-qy9hb I know who he is. I’ve met him a couple times years ago but a few of my friends hang out with him still. I remember that car before he did the LS swap when it was just a couple bolts ons and a stock motor. It was super clean then.

@1:35 Jeez cameraman it have hurt to take an extra minute to appreciate the carbon cutouts he made on the bumper and the hood for extra air flow for the intake and to release the heat from the engine bay. Only thing I disagree with is I don't see the splash guard under the bumper. That is technically a functioning air dam as it helps direct the air flow on to the engine to help keep temps down not to mention it is a splash guard. Beautiful car bro.

Good to see the vg30 kept in this, I think it's stupid when people are swapping it out for a RB or 2j.
I do like that he made so much power on a vg but I do think that blue one that has been floating around with the RB is pretty sweet too.
Seem like a RB would be a pain in the ass to swap tho because of the length of the motor.

@@shaneomatic91 And I honestly don't see the point, of swapping out a different motor especially if the VG is fine. By the time you spend on wiring or paying someone, and then custom mounts ect. You might as well have spent that kind of money on the vg30 to get the performance in the first place.

Look a dyno graph…it only make 200hp at 3400 rpm…so very little power below 4K. This is why I’m not a turbo guy.
Yeah you could feel that on low end. You’re not wrong.
If you're starting a real pull before your turbos really spool or you aren't brake boosting then you're not driving the car right. Every pull I did was at roughly 4000rpm and up. Any less and you're lugging the motor which makes it feel sluggish.
@@strtistic once the turbos hit they were pulling. It’s also a smaller v6 so it’s not gonna come alive on low end.

It'll run till it doesn't. Until then I'm gonna enjoy every last minute of it. Ive got a year so far on her of pretty hard driving.

I’m pretty sure the cross flow stuff was used to cool down the air from the turbo by giving it a longer path to flow through with more time to cool.
That may be true. That makes sense as well.
It's for engine air/boost balancing, so if the left head/turbo has an issue then the right head/turbo won't have the airflow to make the regular boost which would then put more pressure on the failing left side. I hope to have my Z half as nice as that one, one day.
That car isn’t making 900 hp with worm clamps on the intake boost hoses. Sorry. Beautiful car tho
It made 905 to the wheels, dyno graph is in the video, now idk how long ago it made that from when I recorded his car tho. It was probably a couple years in between. But regardless he had to turn it down when we did the video because it was just spinning lol

Not saying it didn’t make 900 hp on the dyno. But from the engine pics it has worm clamps. A worm clamp isn’t going to hold more than 20 psi of boost ( ask me how I know) you need t-clamps to hold enough boost for a vg30 to make 900 hp.

Ya I would run t clamps but a twin turbo z with dual throttle bodies and side mount intercoolers it’s over a thousand bucks just in clamps lol.

Y’all should of hopped on my channel and bought my buddies 1990 300ZXTT 5spd manual with 60k original miles, not too long ago. Nobody contacted me, so he sold it cheap to a local guy who works at a garage for $8500. Easy $20k+ car
3:00 Unless you run a specific front mount on this car it will cause heatsoak(Intercooler>Condenser>Radiator) to everything behind it starving the radiator of air/cooling. As he said, Nissan designed it for side mounts.
I'm surprised at how little chatter that high 5 has compared to my ACT XTR6 in mine... guess that'll be my next clutch.

Yeah, the high5 is the goto clutch even for Zs making half his power. SpecialtyZ also just updated their lightweight flywheel to further improve its drivability.

No it wasn’t. lol the one camera blurred during the pulls. That was kinda cool, I had to use a back up little gimbal camera there because I forgot a GoPro attachment on another one.

Are the cylinder heads stock?
He has JWT 500 wild cams, rebuilt lifters, ported and slightly polished lower plenum and I believe the heads are ported and polished a bit. After recording this I realized we didn’t cover that.

Call a good wheel shop and get the right offset. I’m running 235/40/18 front and 275/35/18 rear. Same wheels on the supra fast furious. Racing Hart m5. Getting the right offset gets you the most meat on your car. Do not go 19 inch or you will have to roll the fenders.

Yep I'm on the stock girdle. just upgraded from oem main bolts to arp 2000 main studs.
