  • The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i is a crazy dual screen laptop that does SO many things right with a huge amount of screen real estate. It might be the coolest looking laptop right now but there are some challenges too.

Thank you for this review! This is truly an amazing product! I love the idea of 2 screens as I use a tablet for notes/sketches, along with my laptop, and this would integrate it well! Being a longtime Yoga user, I really love the solidity of this line of laptops. I enjoy your reviews as you have a very uniquely practical perspective that is very helpful! Looking forward to more. Good Luck!

I'm very impressed and I hope they will go on with the development of dual screens - for my daily routine I would definitely buy such a dual screen in a few years instead of an foldable phone 🙃

What would be cool is if it was dual screen one windows and one android. And if it had some nice software that helped make seamless transitions between the 'two devices'

Out of the three configurations, I think the most ideal (for me, anyway) is the dual screen desktop setup. Not only I have two screen to use, I still have access to a physical keyboard, which, according to your tests, responds faster than the virtual keyboard.

I have been following the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i since months now and I have watched numerous videos about it. This is by fare the most informative one I‘ve yet seen. Great job! The device is available now here in Germany. I will buy one now and especially after seeing this video I have the impression I know what I will get and what I won’t get.
    Thanks for making this review.

As a telehealth and traveling healthcare provider this hardware would be awesome to have in my backpack. It would allow me to see patients on one screen and look at labs/x-rays and chart on the other. Can't wait for this tech to become more mass produced/improved

Big props for Lenovo for making such an innovative product and also for including all the accessories in the box. Hopefully they continue this lineup, in the coming models we'll see a P series or Ryzen processor and add a headphone jack while making the device bit cheaper and more repairable.

    Wishlist for future iterations:
    1 - Screen Brightness Increase
    ( original = 370 nits )
2 - Improved drivers and stability when transformation between modes
    ( bug fixes )
    3 - Semi-Dual-Mode 3rd party support
( when placing included keyboard on bottom half of bottom screen )
    4 - Larger screen size (16")
    ( original 13.3" 2800×1800 )

I've wanted this laptop for months. I am going to use it mainly for reading ebook / listening to audiobook and taking notes by writing. This will allow me to physically write, which is better for retention, and be able to store the notes virtually, via a write to text allowing me to connect my notes and search through them later on. I will do the same for watching videos (courses) and taking notes. I can't wait for this to come out! Was supposed to be April now they are saying June.

That would work great for office work. Instead of split-screen on a desktop PC or swiping across desktops on a laptop, I could have full windows at the same time. It's like having the Lenovo's 17 -inch ThinkBook without the bulk.

I am in desperate need of this. I have watched about 6 vids on this now and you all generally say the same. However, I work from home and my job requires me to use multiple applications all day (copying pasting from one to another) When I go to the actual office, I have 2 monitors which I love because my productivity increases immensely. When I go home with my one screen laptop, it takes me forever to do my work, I can't stand it. Also having the same dual monitor setup home is harder since I lack the space that I have at work. I am sooooo sad that I can't buy this! I will keep looking for it. I wish I could sign up to be on a waiting list. Thanks for your review!

Had very high hopes for this when it was first revealed in CES earlier this year, and was totally planning to get it......but I just found out that here in Hong Kong, it's open for pre-order for a staggering HKD$24,998, or ~ USD$3,189.....that's WAYYYY more expensive than anyone had expected.
Also....no Windows Hello nor fingerprint, and glare-screen instead of matte? Yea...I will probably just wait for the next generation....

Superb review. Like the Microsoft Surface Duo I expect software issues to be sorted out at some point. The real question is whether the use of AR glasses will make the concept of addtional physical displays redundant. Then there is the X1 Fold Gen 2 as well. This might be better than both alternatives, but there are options out there.

I would say that if the price drops, and some kind of magnetic connection for charging is implemented, I would definitely buy it. But now, it's almost 2600 euro and that is rediculous. Obviously, if they decided to support this product an make it painless to work on from software perspective, this would be a great breakthrough.

I already have a surface book 3 but if it happens to die on me (like it already did 4 times) and I cant have it replaced in warrenty this is definitely my top contender.
Only thing I find slightly annoying is the lack of a physical trackpad. Ye in "laptop" mode you have the touchscreen but I am one of very few people that actually prefers using a trackpad over a mouse. Would have loved if the bluetooth keyboard was actually the full size of the bottem of the laptop but then again I am in the minority here.
    PS
Yes I am aware of bluetooth trackpads but at that point might as well use a mouse. A small magnetic trackpad that can snap to the side/bottem of the bluetooth keyboard would have been awesome as well.

I think it's cool but a little too much for my needs. I don't see myself using this on a plane or even a coffee shop. Seems more like it belongs in 2 screen form on my desktop and regular laptop mode everywhere else. In that case I would just get a second monitor. Instead for $690 I purchased the ZenBook duo and I love it. Two screens all the time while still keeping a usable laptop form factor. Having a second screen is fantastic but I don't need a second full screen. But I can see how this could be perfect for some.
