These videos are awesome! Thanks for posting these! I live in South Carolina so it's awesome to see what's going on in different parts of the country!!
Good video. Has Anyone ever get a reason for his soft break? Maybe that’s why they don’t allow it in pro tournaments anymore as Corey Deul was using it and this was recorded 10 years about the same time. And that would make sense as to why he racked the 2 & 3 ball in second row 95% of the time to give him those 2 advantages which aren’t allowed in pro play. He’s a great player. Rack 13 on he got in the flow, such a great feeling and fun to watch which is another thing the pro tournaments got rid of with the alternate break. People loved to watch multiple runouts and so did us players
After what seems like my 20th viewing of this video, it seems Dennis only racked properly once in the 3rd rack. After that he mostly racked the 2 and 3 ball behind the 1 ball.
commentator must have not seen that match dennis played against shaw and soft broke the entire match and made a bad every single time and got perfect shape on the 1 or 2. its a technique. dennis knows whats hes doing. if he hard breaks it, theres more variance.
Was he using a magic rack instead of a house rack against shaw? I do not like this ghost format unless it has more parameters to simulate game play and take away the gimmick element of this soft break thing orcollo is doing in this video. Is he pattern racking in this video? I assume he isnt with the limp dick break, but why not? Might as well gimmick it up to the max if their aint no rules telling you different. But somewhere in my head, i think this looks freakin gay as fuck because IMO, the ghost is an idea with "intent" that should be obvious, but theres always someone who cant put the dollar in the "trust" candy bar dispenser. "Well, the dispenser doesnt say exactly how many you can take for a dollar or if its necessary to even pay the dollar. It just says one dollar and nothing else. Maybe its a typo on the dispenser, so here, gibs me all the candy bars and ill pay the dollar because im an honest guy".
Are you seriously insulting the number 1 player in the world? There is a reason he's the best. Because he doesn't think like the rest. The ghost is already hard to beat, which I'm sure you have never done, so adding a "game feel" is not something that is attainable simply because you're playing by yourself. It's a run out drill essentially. Yes he was using a magic rack against Shaw. And he was pattern racking
Talmadge Fisher That depends. Do you want them to be able to attempt combinations? Or do you want playing safe to be the higher calculation? Do you want to see consecutive racks? Do you want to see finals where people are too intellectually drained that they can't perform? Or where pressure makes the quality of the play less than their talent? Then make them thimbles. Personally, I think 4-1/3" up to 4.5" with the facings squared off, not deep makes for pockets that allow firm pace even when shooting down the rails and to play position off basic combinations. That some people will be able to run 5 racks sometimes will be my pleasure to watch. For me, its the cueball controll that's mesmerizing. It's the route.
how tight would you say that a table could be where a professional still could play great rotation games without being ridiculously difficult to sink balls? So in other words how tight could all tournament tables be for a season of pool tournaments and it still be playable for rotation? I ask this because I want to get a tighter pool table that would be a challenge (yes even for a professional) but wouldn't be impossible to play on. How tight should the pockets be to do this?
yes its rob melrose lol. if i may ask do you know what happened in the match between rob melrose vs dennis orcollo? im confused. im sure dennis quit because of the money. idk thnks
I think to avoid having to travel the cue ball and to avoid clusters. Also possibly because I believe he thought scratching on the break is loss. lol. Can you imagine? Like it's not tough enough.
trumanhw He's ensuring no clusters, I believe that's the main if not the only reason. Hitting it hard and he'll pocket more balls (meaningless in ghost) and get a greater "spread" in an optical sense, but that also gives the balls more of a chance to roll back on top of each other. This way he gives them just enough energy to separate and rest, and his position play is precise enough that he can navigate the tighter spaces. Very smart
You mean the person who paid to produce the content including the after effects of adding a scoreboard, which wasn't cheap? Yes, I accidentally said some stupid things... and I also did my best when I was absolutely level with the table. On the bright side, perhaps we can rectify all of this; if you're in LA Andus, or will be in the future, we can play for couple of bucks and you can show me how ignorant I am in my use of force follow. :)
REYMARTZ...I think he breaks like this so that he don't have to move around a lot for shape. The table seems tight so the closer he can be to each ball the better in my opinion.
This is correct. My ole man was his stake horse in the 90’s down south. He had a 4” pvc pipe for a cue case with table cloth in it so it would not get banged up with a sneaky pete cue made out of Louisiana. Any time he played 4-10 tournaments in the area he had to go to 14.
Wow the 7th game is one of the sickest runouts I've ever seen, this guy is an absolute assassin!!!
Thanks for these ghost matches!!

game 7 is a perfect example of why dennis is my favorite stroke on the planet now....fucking sick!!!!
Dennis, such a great stroke and shot maker.
great uploads...awesome watching these players just shoot non-stop running out against the ghost. you get a good look at their rhythm and pace..
This is my 2nd time watching this, well worth it just phenomenal.
lol, i love how Ronnie Alcano is on the other table.
This video is a keeper. If you get the opportunity to watch him play in person, take it!
meanwhile Dennis wins 2013 US Open One Pocket event... Congrats Dennis!
6:46 was UNHUMAN!! Jesus!

out of all the commentators, trumanhw pronounces Dennis' last name correctly, respect!
the ghost just doesn't miss.
Excited to see the video with Alex, how did that one turn out...Love these videos keep em coming...
Yeah, hes great!! We'll see fireworks!
great work my friend.
You soft break so you don't end up with balls tied up, you break straight on with a soft break and the balls spread out evenly with no clusters.
Game 17, "5 rails.. well he played it 7 rails my bad!!" - LOL
The ghost clearly needs some practice.
I wanna see bustamante playing ghost!!

millionairejh Yeah, anything Dennis does you can pretty much assume there's a reason for. He's a monster, the second coming of Parica.
They were also playing 9 ball in that match. This is 10ball

So fucking sick
And the Ghost is now retired. LOL
Why did he use the soft break?

does the commentator have a thing for the words "force follow" or what

got em
LOL at breaking soft when you can spot the cue ball anywhere after the break. Its a free break and Dennis Orcollo dosent take advantage.
REYMARTZ...I think he breaks like this so that he don't have to move around a lot for shape. The table seems tight so the closer he can be to each ball the better in my opinion.
Grabeng tira ni dennis solid na solid
WOW
I have a feeling I know who voted the 'thumbs down' ... lol
He wants to break like that .. Better practice ( harder to get out because you have more traffic )
LOL at you for not understanding why he is doing it.
A fisherman's son who doesn't know how to fish (Hustle)
You think they will bet him again?

this guy is playing the little ghost big fucking deal.. Jack Hines ran out the big ghost
joshlumpkin27 Did you know Jack?
+bkeers Jack was a crusher. Just didn't have the mind to set a game up. He'd walk in & want the best player in the house right off the bat.
