It's been almost 5 years now and I can't express how happy I am with the recent videos it's been amazing watching what you have done with this house and seeing it come into fruition is just amazing she's almost there buddy!!! Can't wait to see it all done!!!!
I miss the concrete mound in the basement - RIP. My favorite moments were when he was hitting it reaching down from the first floor with the sledge hammer. lol
Holy moly, the 4th $9,000 house video in like two weeks. Must mean you intend to finish this thing. Finally. Would like to see you make some money from all your hard work.
Just my 2 cents. In my opinion, I think you should make this place an Airbnb instead of turning into rental property. You've dedicated so much to transforming this house into something amazing. Let your subscribers and/or those looking to have a nice place to stay for the moment get to experience all your hard work. 😊
So much progress on the 9000 house! Feels like a weight is being lifted. ...and then you show us that other house. So much going on, so much on your shoulders. Give your babies hugs and kisses tonight, you are doing amazing!
I'd love to see full before and after shots of the whole house when this reno is completed. It's been amazing to see it all happen over the last few years.
My favorite is to see you revive homes. You do a great job making homes be valuable again. It helps the community as well as families who live in them.
You must feel great satisfaction finishing these areas one at a time. It is wonderful to see. True craftsmanship rehabing the door and getting glass in. I don't think there is anywhere to get glass placed in my area.
While you were on hiatus from the $9,000 home reno, I bought a acreage homestead two years ago and finished the reno on it five months ago. Good to see progress on this house once more.
I respect the fact that you take the time to do things how you want them and without acquiring any debt! I have been watching your content for years and thoroughly enjoy it.
Congratulations on all the progress you have been making on this house in recent times. I wish you all the energy and time you need to finish it sooner rather than later.
Like i said I been watching this good man since he first came on youtube and he has impressed me and taught me alot I did.nt know and being at my age of 53 that tells you something. He is a great family man and a smart man and a darn hard working man.Like I said many times even if he is.nt my son and I say this as a father of 3 adult men he makes me proud to see the accomplishments and that to me is a great lesson in my life is learning from my sons and this young man.Godbless him and his future and his beautiful family.
My wife has done cat rescue for 20 years. Domesticated cats were simply not made to live on their own in the wild. They get diseases and suffer. The kittens have a low survival rate. The best thing you can do is find a cat rescue and trap, fix, return the cats. The reason you want to return them is because it will help prevent other cats from moving in to the area that aren't fixed. There really isn't a practical way to tame a feral adult cat. If I were in your position, I would contact a local cat rescue and have them come and rescue the kittens (they can still be tamed and put into good homes) and fix the adult cats so that you can nip the population in the bud with time. Most cat rescues have volunteers that will do this for free.
I agree with you wholeheartedly! I hope and pray that he is providing food and water for the mother cat! And, yes, she will need be trapped/spayed/released (and she will need to be spayed in the very near future) and released back into her habitat or he will have a HUGE feral cat problem on his hands. And anyone that has worked with that knows that it multiplies fast. Thank you for commenting on the cats/kittens. Kittens are so helpless.
That fixer-upper is going to be a gorgeous house. Such good bones. You will be tempted again to live in it when you are done remodeling it. 😊 I truly LOVE that old door to the kitchen you repaired. Probably old-growth tree wood, and such a nice old-fashioned touch to an otherwise modern kitchen.
Since I just mounted a new one in our bathroom, I instantly noticed the missing toilet roll holder. :) I really enjoy seeing progress on this house project.
Great progress on the 9K masterpiece house. The other house you showed us will be a masterpiece to I am sure. I will be a joy to watch this one finished up and watch the next one come together.
Great job! My husband used to get very nervous with the toilet install. Looks like your father in law really gave you some good ideas. Looked much easier than I recall! Kitchen and door coming along nicely!
It is really coming together now. I can't wait to see you working on the other one either. You are preserving for your children and all our children a memory of what the world was like before cookie cutter McMansions, when a man built his house with his own two hard working hands, and preserving it as a working family home and not a museum. I'm really proud of you for what you are doing, and I'm glad it will soon be an income earner, instead of just a yearly property tax bill. When you have the other one livable, you will have raised that entire neighborhood up. I love the sites of both of these houses. I would be very tempted to live in them, just because they are such lovely places. Those yards need kids running in them.
I know you have a kind heart, please take the kittys to the shelter, so they can be adopted!!! And i want to see more of that giant house you got the pex from. Be safe from pancake plates, kitties, and dentures!
Keep up the good work man! I've been watching your videos since 2019 and I'm still impressed, intrigued as I was from the first video I watched. Can't wait to see how the house looks at the end, when it's all done! Keep at it! Wishing you well from the UK.
WHOOA!! Look at that huge loom! That's some serious weaving! Great tip on the toilet. Thanks for the sneak peek on the farm house! That is a really cool house.
tip for setting the toilet, don't run the bead of silicone all the way around the back. If for some reason there is a leak you want to know about it asap and the silicone could trap water in there for longer. The house is looking nice!
Beautiful job on the baseboard and caulking. I'm such an expert DIY'er that every time a light bulb goes out my wife asks if she should call an electrician.😏
Little tip. When working with caulk, have a small bucket of warm soapy water handy to smooth the finish with your wet fingers, and a handy spot to rinse your hands! Thanks!
Great job on that old door at the end of the video! That will be a good piece to keep in the house. I echo what a lot say: I've been waiting for the return of these videos and I'm really looking forward to the next house! This summer I will be looking for a similar house to renovate and restore. Your videos are super inspiring!
Will you be making an updated video on your Common Cents channel? I'd like to hear your updated budgeting thoughts. I've been watching for many years, so I maybe the only one requesting for that channel. Great job as always.
Thanks for showing us a future project. Something fir us to look forward to. Nice to see the finishing touches, the fruits of your labor. Exciting. I want to live there.
I was wondering if you still owned the farmhouse and look! There it is! When my youngest was a toddler he would throw items in the toilet and flush. I learned how to get the item out of the trap and reseal pretty darn quick. Being a single mom taught me how to fix plumbing, washers and dryers and work on my car. It really helped to be able to teach the boys how to do men's work. Thank you for posting more and I can hardly wait to see the next episode.
Can you talk about how you keep all these projects straight in your head? I don’t have a 1/4 of the work on my plate and the anxiety induced from trying to stay on top of what needs done is horrible.
It’s all looking so good 😊 it’s the first time I’ve seen in the other house, that’s going to take some serious work and funds to get it finished 😮 but I’m confident you can do it 😊
Thank you for the recent uploads. I enjoy watching you work and explain your process. I might even buy my own fixer upper in the future. I live in Japan and there's lots of houses in nice areas that just need some love.
Love your videos! 2 things that I found in my trim work journey that are both pretty cheap but extremely helpful are 2p10 thick Glue / accelerator and a bora Miterix tool.
I thought you were supposed to wait to caulk the base of the toilet. Run some water through it first to make sure the wax ring isn't leaking. With the caulk in place, you won't know if water is leaking until it rots out the floor.
I would suggest not caulking the base of the toilet or at a minimum leaving the rear portion exposed so that you know when there's a leak occurring at the wax seal. Wax seals do eventually fail, especially if you have a tenant plunging a toilet incorrectly. This way water doesn't stay in that interstitial space and end up below the tile flooring where it's nearly impossible for you to address.
You should use the reusable wax ring. I've used them and love them. The wax is only used to seal the flange to the ring. The toilet sits on rubber. So if you have to take the toilet off for any reason you can just set it back in again. Makes life so easy installing toilets
I just saw this kind of toilet that has a tank that is built inside a 6 inch framed wall and a bowel that hangs off of the wall with an exit of the waste water off of the back so the whole thing floats above the floor .I would like to try this set up sometime even though it costs about 600 dollars due to the ability to gain about 9 inches inside a small room . I live in a 50 year old house and have a closet that runs right over the sewer pipe so I think I will try it.The old houses you are working on are even worse than mine as far as space goes.
Oh my goodness! Loved and appreciated each project highlighted in today's video. The meticulous details going into the complete renovation of the door -- masterful and jawdropping! Thank you for sharing!
Looks like you are on the home stretch. Great idea on caulking the toilet base. Plumber friend said to always leave a 1" opening on the back of the base in case of leak.
Even if the gov't does not approve splitting up the other house, you could still put a fourth bedroom in the back and make it up as a "granny suite" or something like that.
Glad to see the content coming out and that other house looks great. ive been subbed for quiet awhile and i dont think ive ever seen anything on it, hoping the motivation and ability to film it keeps up and we can see that one too!
I've been told not to Caulk the full area because if there ends up being a leak you wont see it untill its already tolate and the floors messed up.. so to keep the back part open a few inches
I like your idea of having a small apartment off the back of that next project. It would work well if you are thinking you will sell that house when you’re done renovating it. Nowadays, families are caring for elderly parents, or have grown children who need a place to live. Also, if the family living there has kids, it could be rented to someone willing to do babysitting fora rent reduction.
My favorite moments were when he was hitting it reaching down from the first floor with the sledge hammer. lol
The man said it and did it : Tuesday videos 🎉🎉
Holy moly, the 4th $9,000 house video in like two weeks. Must mean you intend to finish this thing. Finally. Would like to see you make some money from all your hard work.
I think he already makes money off of at least two other houses he's shown on here.
the house has already made some money - youtube money ;)
Just my 2 cents. In my opinion, I think you should make this place an Airbnb instead of turning into rental property. You've dedicated so much to transforming this house into something amazing. Let your subscribers and/or those looking to have a nice place to stay for the moment get to experience all your hard work. 😊
While you were renovating this 9000dollar house i got married and had two kids 😂
Ha!
he might be making more $ from TH-cam video ads than monthly rent???
@phyllisstein1837, less than 10K a year, according to socialblade. I'm sure he pulls in more than that with two or more properties.
That's funny
He, too, has his eye on the future! Congratulations to you! Be happy!
You’re craftsmanship in repairing that door at the end is pure art. Love this series and glad to see it coming to a finish.
I'm happy you kept to your statement of posting a new video on Tuesday. Thank you!!! I am enjoying your return to the $9, 000 House.
Great to see the project moving forward! Been here since ep 1.
I love that you leave the cats be in the other house. Also excited to see that project too. Looks like it has a lot of potential!
I hope he brings them some food. The soft kind, they are kittens.
Love the reuse of the old door. Doors today are pretty cheap, but well made doors have many lives given the chance.
Wow! Whoever gets to live here is so lucky!!! Beautiful work! Charming yet efficiently simple! Love your channel❣️
So much progress on the 9000 house! Feels like a weight is being lifted. ...and then you show us that other house. So much going on, so much on your shoulders. Give your babies hugs and kisses tonight, you are doing amazing!
Plumber, electrician, carpenter, you name it...he is indeed every man.... Love this hardwotk and dedication
I'd love to see full before and after shots of the whole house when this reno is completed. It's been amazing to see it all happen over the last few years.
I am so impressed with how you saved that old door!!! Thank you.
That loom in the front room is probably worth some money if it's all there and in good working order.
I remember the other house, you called it the farmhouse and I was wondering about this house because I love it and wondered what happened to it.
The approach to the house was incredibly spooky.
SO glad you put an outward door on that bathroom. Getting into those tiny bathrooms when the door swings in is so difficult
Once this house is finished, I hope we get to watch the renovation of the "pancake house"
I can't imagine getting to live in one of your houses where you know everything is done to the best of your abilities and knowledge.
Interesting tour of the second house, lots of potential. Thanks for the preview.
Beautiful antique vanity in that second house that you have to renovate. Thanks for leaving the kitties alone so they're safe.
Smart way to install the faucet/sink. Loved watching you bring that door back to life.
15:35 when you add a toilet, that's civilization.
Great progress, nice clean little half bath. The other big house looks interesting.
My wife has done cat rescue for 20 years. Domesticated cats were simply not made to live on their own in the wild. They get diseases and suffer. The kittens have a low survival rate. You don't adopt a feral cat; it adopts you!!! Be grateful!
The functional advantages and craftsmanship care you put into your renovation is just superb.
It is so nice to see all the smaller items coming together!
It's great to see you back working on this house! I'm already looking forward to the remodel of the kitten house!
That fixer-upper is going to be a gorgeous house. Such good bones. You will be tempted again to live in it when you are done remodeling it. 😊
I truly LOVE that old door to the kitchen you repaired. Probably old-growth tree wood, and such a nice old-fashioned touch to an otherwise modern kitchen.
It's nice seeing this house drawing to a close. I'm sure glad you got your mojo back.
Some folks would dedicate an entire 20 minute video to restoring that old door. Our guy throws it into the end of this video as a footnote.
I can't explain it but watching you completely repair that door and glass pane was very interesting.
Since I just mounted a new one in our bathroom, I instantly noticed the missing toilet roll holder. :)
I really enjoy seeing progress on this house project.
You are a fine young man and I pray all the best for you and your family. That second house peek also looks like it will be another winner for you.
Great progress on the 9K masterpiece house. The other house you showed us will be a masterpiece to I am sure. I will be a joy to watch this one finished up and watch the next one come together.
And wowww that new house you showed! So much potential! That place is incredible
Great job! My husband used to get very nervous with the toilet install. Looks like your father in law really gave you some good ideas. Looked much easier than I recall! Kitchen and door coming along nicely!
So so so happy to be getting regular videos in the series again!! Seeing the other house got me real excited for future videos as well! Keep it up!
Recommend removing caulk behind the toilet so you know if the wax ring is leaking
So many new updates!!! Loving it!
Well done Charles!
I always appreciate some of the little details you show like cutting glass and repairing an old door. It’s charming and economical.
Looks like a rug loom in the house next door. Wonderful!
I’m loving it! I love seeing all the renovations and then all this finishing touches. Even toilet installation LOL
It is really coming together now. I can't wait to see you working on the other one either. Love how the house takes shape, been watching it from the beginning, what a transformation. That renter is gone be blessed.
I know you have a kind heart, please take the kittys to the shelter, so they can be adopted!!! And i want to see more of that giant house you got the pex from. Be safe from pancake plates, kitties, and dentures!
So glad to see you back and making videos again. Great work and look forward to your next video.
Just like when I watched Game of thrones, now I have to wait a week to see you finish that door…! 😂 But man I love to see you back in the House again.
A multi generational home! With the economy the way it is a way to make things affordable!
I wonder if they are just storing it there. His wife does weaving.
tip for setting the toilet, don't run the bead of silicone all the way around the back. If for some reason there is a leak you want to know about it asap and the silicone could trap water in there for longer. The house is looking nice!
Beautiful job on the baseboard and caulking. I'm such an expert DIY'er that every time a light bulb goes out my wife asks if she should call an electrician.😏
He ain't never gonna finish that house! 😆
Nice! Its coming along well, bud. That little bathroom is much better than I expected.
Little tip. When working with caulk, have a small bucket of warm soapy water handy to smooth the finish with your wet fingers, and a handy spot to rinse your hands! Thanks!
Great job on that old door at the end of the video! That will be a good piece to keep in the house. Great job as always.
Thanks for showing us a future project. Something fir us to look forward to. Nice to see the finishing touches, the fruits of your labor. Exciting. I want to live there.
The thin spacers under the baseboard trim during install seem a clever idea, especially when working on uneven floors.
I did it to ease replacement of the linoleum and carpet in the future
I was wondering if you still owned the farmhouse and look! There it is! When my youngest was a toddler he would throw items in the toilet and flush. Hard work, looks great!!!
So much fun when you can just run your water and drainage through the floor like that.
Can you talk about how you keep all these projects straight in your head? I don’t have a 1/4 of the work on my plate and the anxiety induced from trying to stay on top of what needs done is horrible.
Little bathroom looks good. Maybe a towel bar? and toilet paper dispenser?
It’s all looking so good 😊 it’s the first time I’ve seen in the other house, that’s going to take some serious work and funds to get it finished 😮 but I’m confident you can do it 😊

yep, that's what I've been told too
We officially have a toilet!!! Omg we have a bathroom
The other house is really nice. It'll look amazing all fixed up.

You can also putty sink flanges instead of silicon. Keeps the water out just the same, and if you need to take the sink out it's not glued down.
Always so exciting to see the latest update on this home! What an amazing series!!! Watching now! 🥰🏡
P.S. Thank you for bringing us along! ❤🙏
Oh my goodness! Loved and appreciated each project highlighted in today's video. The meticulous details going into the complete renovation of the door -- masterful and jawdropping! Thank you for sharing!
Bravo! Great episode. Loved the work on the door at the end
Beautiful Job! Someone should appreciate all of the time & trouble you went through to fix that house up! 😊
Glad to see the content coming out and that other house looks great. ive been subbed for quiet awhile and i dont think ive ever seen anything on it, hoping the motivation and ability to film it keeps up and we can see that one too!
House is looking beautiful
The LOOM!!!! Oh my gosh.
Definitely progress when the plumbing fixtures are going in.
Suggestion for the house next door: make the downstairs room an in-law suite apartment for multigenerational families.
Your camera is always set for some great video, so there is always interest. This is an excellent TH-cam video.
When setting the toilet I was taught to not do a 360 degree seal. Leave tje back open so you spot a leak if it happens and head off subfloor damage.
Nice work! A lot of small jobs, but it really adds up!
