What I don't understand, is that, you went from stating that Muslim accounts regarding Roman numbers were vastly exaggerated to than asserting that the Romans were outnumbered. I found that a bit odd. And also the first engagement Khalid bin Waleed had with Roman forces was in the battle of muta'ah almost a decade before this battle.
You keep saying that Byzantine was devastated by the war, but what you fail to realize is that they had more than 5 years after the end of the war to restore stability and replenish their resources, on the other hand the Arabs lived almost all their lives as quarrelling tribes and knew no meaning of unity, when Muhammad united them almost 80% of them rebelled and Abu-Bakr had to fight many internal wars in order to restore stability, in the very same year of the rebellion's end he launched his forces not to the Persians only but to Rome as well at the same time, not to mention that their warfare equipment would not be even compared to that of the mighty Sassanids and Byzantines. So when you bring up the fact that Byzantine was exhausted because of the war it gives absolutely no sense to the outcome of conflict with the Arabs, because the Arabs' situation was much worse than Byzantine's, at least Byzantine had more than five years of stability while the Arabs had almost two months before their campaign was launched, and Byzantine had a huge expert of organized government and management while their counterparts had literally zero expert in the manner due to the fact that they used to be divided tribes hating each other and wage war on each other for the stupidest reasons!! In short; the Arabs were the actual side in this conflict to have been truly exhausted by war not Byzantium!!
NOTE: The nickname sword of Allah was granted to Khalid ibn Al-walid after the battle of Mo'ta(مؤتة) as his charge in dawn against the larger byzantine army at dawn was too risky yet paid off, delaying the byzantines temporarily for the muslim army to retreat in good order. Precisely it was after the battle of Mu'tah where he was given the nickname as he had broken 9 swords and turned a sure defeat into a strategic retreat that saved many of the men who he would lead at Yarmouk. it is well documented by Coptic Church sources , Cyrus himself sided with Amr and Copts due to sympathy with Muslims and Friendship with Amr from the days he was a trader, refusing to continue the fight and paying Jizya. Amr knew Egypt very well , and with over 500k Romans and Greeks in Egypt , 150k of them able to fight according to the massege sent to Cyrus from Hercalius accusing him of not having the well to fight. even a 100k army is not enough to control Egypt without public sympathy with Muslims , hatered to Romans , and cooperation from Cyrus .
Cyrus was the head of Malkite Church in Egypt , and knew there would be a prophet after Jesus even Heraclius knew that , so sympathy from him had it's reasons.

Brother, Khalid asked his man about a shorter route towards the Muslim army in Syria cuz the other routes would take alot of time. Rafe told him about the route through the desert but cautioned him that not even small caravans dared to move through it due to the fear of getting lost or dying of thirst. Other seniors also cautioned Khalid to not move through the desert, but it was him alone that decided to move through it despite all the warnings. And it was his strategy to make twenty camels drink alot of water and tie their mouths. The camels were slaughtered during the march to extract the water from their bodies. So it was mainly his decision. What is interesting is that after the journey was completed Rafe told him that he had travelled through this route only once and that also in his childhood days some 30 years ago. Alhamdulilah that Allah helped them and guided them on the right path or things could've been different (na-uzu-billah).

The women came along to protect the baggage train, and were trained to shoot arrows and use slings as well as spears. In this very campaign Khalwah Al Azar was known to have fought and even commanded troops at the front line. Even when captured and thrown into a women's prison she engineered a breakout and killed 9 men herself.
Women played an important role during early arab conquest In battle of uhud a woman called nussaiba defended the prophet from khalid who managed to defeat the muslim army
the battles of Khalid Ibn Al walid (when i read about them) i found them to be nothing less than what you read in stories. for example, Zerar or Derar in Ararbic (the champion the narrator talked about) was captured by the romans in a battle, his sister covered her face and wore armor and tried to fight her way through the romans in order to save her brother, and everyone admired her way of fighting. and since that Zerar was the favorite wing commander of Khalid, he made a rescue mission to save him from the Romans and bring him back alive, and they actually did in a completely cinematic scene
No "Mobile warfare" idea of desert warfare tree. Really because his strategy seems to mirror a lot of blitzkrieg than line battles of ancient warfare. This era is basically CK2 and Imperator Rome hybrid in scope.
In terms of military reasoning, why the Arabs were so astonishingly successful, on a tactical basis, in so many early engagements about which we know little, is one of the most striking aspects of the ascent of Islam in the 7th and early 8th centuries.
I think it was partly because both the Byzantine and Sassanid armies were thoroughly demoralized from their wars with one another, add unrest among the civilian populations and a highly motivated enemy and you have a recipe for disaster.

It's true that there's little information to go by. The whole thing is like a big jigsaw puzzle, which takes careful analysis but taking into account the Byzantine and Sassanid situation, in particular the 20 odd year war between them; the devastating effects of the plague which destroyed the taxation base and the early Muslim conquests between 623 and 632AD. It's not astonishing or even surprising to learn how the Arabs were so successful against the two "superpowers" at the time. They happened to be at the right place and at the right time. This Arab army was a highly sophisticated fighting force, as evidenced in early Muslim accounts where constant battles and expeditions within that 9 nine year period had enabled the Arabs to become battle-hardened veterans long before they faced either the Byzantines (with the exception of the Battle of Mutah) or the Sassanids and on top of that, having a competent commander. Of course they were poorly equiped to begin with but that would soon change with constant raids on enemy supply lines acquiring good quality armour and weapons. Also acquiring a multitude of wealth and arms from fighting and raiding against the Ghassanids, a client state to the Byzantines who formed a buffer zone between the Muslims and Byzantines. The last thing the Byzantines wanted was another war so were content to supply arms and funds to the Ghassanids but this was in vain.

Fun fact. The Syriac Historian Dionysius reflects at the Arab conquest in a good light, rather than a negative light. He describes his distaste at Roman rule, and especially the more barbaric method of Roman conquest. Such views are reflected by the Coptic patriarch of Egypt when it fell to Muslim rule as well, saying that the Muslim conquest was “A punishment” for the unruliness of the Roman and a “deliverance” for the Egyptian Coptic Christians

For this battle he got his numbers right, muslims did outnumber them but only in this battle. After Heraclius gathered his main army the ratio became 1:5. But don't know where "greatly lied" came from. The muslims overestimated the army at Yarmouk, because frakly no one's counting such a large army accurately, so they estimated it to be between 200,000-400,000.

*takes on multiple large (but weakened) empires at the same time, conquers absurd amounts of territory in a short span of time, is never defeated once in battle* Man, some people dreamed of becoming the second coming of Alexander the Great. And yet here this guy, who may have never even heard of Alexander the Great, was practically reliving it.
@@maxten Ehhh, that's debatable. Support in Shah was not at an all time high when Alexander invaded, thus the full might of Iranshahr was never entirely brought to bear on him. And as for the kingdom of Paurava, it had strong neighbors to contend with so it's arguable how much of his army King Porus brought to the battle of the Hydaspes. Which is not to take away from Alexander's accomplishments, but to remember that there were multiple factors that aided in his success.

I hope you guys didn't forget to make a video about Ali pasha tepelena king of Egypt???
Is this a rerun to this series (early Muslim conquest)?
NOTE: The nickname sword of Allah was granted to Khalid ibn Al-walid after the battle of Mo'ta(مؤتة) as his charge in dawn against the larger byzantine army at dawn was too risky yet paid off, delaying the byzantines temporarily for the muslim army to retreat in good order.

it is well documented by Coptic Church sources , Cyrus himself sided with Amr and Copts due to sympathy with Muslims and Friendship with Amr from the days he was a trader, refusing to continue the fight and paying Jizya.

True.
Youre confused bro! Its not abt making Khaled look smart cse he undoubtly is, but to correct u it was his idea and Rafie was the only man among em who crossed this desert cse none dare! So Khaled told him to guide the army cse Khaled wanted to arrive to Syria as quick as possible.

The flag of Rashidun CALIPHATE was not Green indeed it was White & black with the Islamic Takbeer & The Shahada.
Actually it was fully black
Prophet Mohammad peace be upon him had a flag called ( The Eagle ) راية العُقاب
And is’s black and white with the Shahada and the Takbeer on it .
But other flags were used as well green and white white and black many of them .

They used to go with their husbands in wars, they stay in the back and they would shoot stones at the soldiers if they retreat
Women played an important role during early arab conquest
In battle of uhud a woman called nussaiba defended the prophet from khalid who managed to defeat the muslim army
the battles of Khalid Ibn Al walid (when i read about them) i found them to be nothing less than what you read in stories.
for example, Zerar or Derar in Ararbic (the champion the narrator talked about) was captured by the romans in a battle, his sister covered her face and wore armor and tried to fight her way through the romans in order to save her brother, and everyone admired her way of fighting.
and since that Zerar was the favorite wing commander of Khalid, he made a rescue mission to save him from the Romans and bring him back alive, and they actually did in a completely cinematic scene

@@mysticonthehill no not True The muslims where always outnumbered and some of them didnt even have armor, but they where known as strong firm fighters, arab tradition was wrestling so allot of The muslims soldier where long and muscler soldiers they know how to fight thats why they won and ofcourse with God his help

Zarrar (Darrar) never wore armour in the battlefield, he always fought his shirt off in the battlefield.

Khalid crossing desert is usually undersold
it is akin to Hannibal and Napoleon crossing of the Alps
Its harder to market some arab crossing the dessert with camels whom he eats later then a legendry general who defeated the romans and crossed war elephants on a mountain.
Well, while he won some battles he ultimately lost the war
and have you tried drinking water from a camel?
Hannibal crossing the Alps because that's something the Romans would not expect was practical and ingenious. Napoleon just did it for reputation. Khalid bin Waleed crossed the dessert because he was told to he some where ASAP. So just like Hannibal he done what the enemy didn't even consider doable and won the day.

@@mortezamohammadi505 actually although it is allowed to marry more than one woman .. it is highly recommended to marry only one .. marrying more other women is for their protection , as an example your 2nd wife should be a widow with orphan childeren so you marry her to look after her and her childern .. do you get the idea ??
What are you trying to say ? It's a wrong thing to say because it has been said alot ?
I read about the life of the prophet and his companions and that's what actually happened . And take in consideration that islam has limited 4 wives . Before islam it was allowed in arab traditions to marry any number of women you want for any desired purpose .
The poor window here Is due to poor interpretation of later muslims not because of religious teachings . And as a muslim the more I read the more I understand that true islam is a very strong religion and ideology that could bring solution to many of the worlds problems .
