Ford Fiesta Mk2 SUPERCHARGER || ST170 DuraTec Engine Swap

- Now more evolved and again present at Retro Rides Gathering was the Ford Fiesta XR2 Mk2 from 1987 of Liam Stolton, powered by the DuraTec 2.0L engine from the Focus ST170 with the addition (of a very audible) Eaton Supercharger.
Built at Stolton Engineering, it is an immaculately finished machine and one that is by now extensively modified, going far beyond the engine swap already mentioned. Adding to the Eaton M45 Supercharger that makes it possible to achieve 230Hp/7.500Rpm, there´s also a Quaife IB5 gearbox to transmit the power to the Front Wheels, with its interior fully striped to ensure that this machine weighs the minimum possible (around 850Kg in this case), all adding to the use of lighter material when it came to the bespoke Aerodynamic kit that really sets this Fiesta Mk2 apart from any other you have seen until now.
Love how quietly it ran. Really nice car.
The Supercharger dominated the soundtrack for sure ;)

I swapped in a st170 engine and trans to my 02 Ford focus . Used all factory parts which made it a straight bolt in . That car was the most fun I ever had with my pants on....the way it would go 60-130 mph was insane. I think 0-60 the fastest I got was around 6.5 seconds, it easily did 60-130 in the same amount of time or less. When your car is light you don't need a butt load of torque .
Its impossible to do 60-130 in the same time as 0-60. Not with this power.
Now imagine on a 850Kg Fiesta Mk2 ;)
@@jareknowak8712 that engine in stock form uses a 24lb steel flywheel. So if your in 6th and you drop to third you can stay in third till 80 mph. The neat thing about that trans is it's dual counter shafts are of different ratio . 1,3,5 were all 4.62 final, 2,4,6 were all 2.38 final ....not exact numbers but you get the idea. My car was about 400 lbs lighter than the svt , it started out about 250 lbs lighter .

St170 may have Duratec on the rocker cover, but it's just a variation of the zetec.. not related to a Duratec... Duratec is chain drive valve train, aluminium block, and inlet and exhaust on opposite sides to the zetec which has a cast iron block and belt driven valve train.
@John Mitchell your so wrong. 🤣 st170 is still a zetec... inlet and exhaust are the wrong way around, cast iron block, cambelt not a chain doesnt sound like a Duratec to me... .... maybe your thinking of the st150 from the newer fiesta...
@John Mitchell your still wrong... st170 is a basically a blacktop zetec block with a modified head... it's a zetec... you really have no idea. Tell my why if you want turbo pistons and rods for it you buy zetec rods and pistons? 🤣👀🤔
@John Mitchell the st170 is a zetec family engine.. still dont know where your going with this... it has a slightly higher compression due to the different head... but still not a Duratec... just as the mk1 Focus rs only thing Duratec is the badge on the cam cover nothing else 🤔🤣 feel like I'm beating a dead horse here tbh.
@John Mitchell your talking about the wrong engine as I assumed 🤣🤣🤣 st170 has same cc as the zetec lump. The newer style Duratec is 1999cc. I rest my case 🤣🤣🤣

LtDanUSAFX3 a super charger sound in a high displacement V8 is no where near lame. It doesn’t sound good on this little booger though
