Ian is such an understated and very genuine very clever man. He's done wonders in the rc world from building rc motors back in the day to lots of things with ic rc racing. He lives close to me and ive known of him since I was child and racing rc at pendle and District model car club. What a legend know boundarys what this man can do. He has the build on you tune also.

I can't begin to comprehned what he does for a job if he has the knowledge skills and ability to build that in his spare time. Incredible. I also realised his dashboard switch for more boost should be labelled "if underwhelmed, add an EP3". I also caught the Paul Daniels reference, props to the owner. Loved this.

I pulled into a Shell garage in North Yorkshire and this chap pulled up next to me. It’s an incredible car. I was in my GT-R and I instantly had car envy.

If your loving the V6 singing, i think search Andy Burton 306 6R4 for the the initial rally car build and then Andy Burton Peugeot Cosworth for when the original 6R4 motor got replaced with an Opel V6 DTM motor a few years later to see another bonkers home brewed motor. Ian, your a legend mate!
I was fortunate that my dad was friends with Malcom Wilson’s dad who owned a scrap yard just outside of Workington (Cumbria) we went up and he had a rally prepared 6r4 all I remember is a red light that was on the dash which was on until it was up to temperature it looked evil with all the splitters and aerodynamics to keep it stuck to the ground u couldn’t get in it without ear protection awesome performance 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
I actually went in it. I was also fortunate That my birthday present was a run in the escort cossie Pirelli wry for my birthday they brought it on the rally trailer to where I lived he drifted it around the oval where we played football so all my mates seen me I felt like superman when I got out 💪💪💪

I agree 100% with your love of the 6R4! As an Essex Boy I should be an RS200 guy but the 6R4 was far and away the most mental looking and defo the best sounding! That high revving NA V6 howl was way better than the turbo'd 4 pots most of the competition ran.
What do you mean? Its contemporaries in 1984 were Audi and Lancia (pre Delta), porsche were still having a go back then as well. Ford were the only real contenders using 4 pot back then.

Savage is the proper descriptor for this build, it's absolutely brilliant in every way. Not a huge fan of MG as a manufacturer, but this car is on a whole other level and was only made better by this mad scientist, Ian.

Wow what a toy that looks! I used to fantasise about driving one of these on the road. I saw another great replica recently and the guy was displaying a book of photos of the build. He started with a beige 1.3 and put a Toyota MR2 engine in the back. They’re just like a big go cart really, credit where it’s due to Ian👍

What an amazing car and also wanted to have a go in a metro 6R4 but that Ford V6 with a turbo charger is a great engine as I had a Ford ST220 which was great (no turbo of course).

wow what a car and what a guy. You see the original 6R4's with guys wearing head phones they are so loud and this one even has a stereo in it. He has seriously optimised one of the coolest car concepts around :-)

What an amazing car and also wanted to have a go in a metro 6R4 but that Ford V6 with a turbo charger is a great engine as I had a Ford ST220 which was great (no turbo of course).
