Finding actually useful glitches in MZM is like finding honest politicians; it's nearly impossible. Just about every trick or shortcut in the game is there by design and was fully intended.
does skipping space jump legit take it off the item %? I'm thinking it could be like Varia where it just kinda gives it to you anyway after you pass the ruins test.
Well, while the game doesn't give it to you automatically after the Chozo Ghost, you actually cannot skip it, since there are other "Unknown Item" blocks you need to pass through in order to get to Kraid.
No matter what happens, the game will always give you the missing items after the ruins test, you can skip the Power Grip, Plasma Beam, Varia Suit etc, and still, the game will give you those things with the Fully Powered Suit. Even if you use cheats to warp to Chozodia before time, the ruins test will always give you the missing items (although, I don't know how true this is, maybe there are certain items which the game won't give you, because you'll obviously already have them)
Through failing it to spawn. If you have experimented with e.g. SMW or watch glitch videos of it, you can cause to fail sprites if there are too may onscreen. In this case, there were too many rinkas so the game had no free slot to spawn the gate and unlike as e.g. SMW, which deletes a random sprite for the goal tape in case there too many sprites, the gate hasn't got a such piece of code.
Yeah it isn't very clear, maybe I could've gotten a better clip of this. Basically, normally you're locked into that zipline activation -mechanism once you enter, but I used a critter to damage boost Samus out of there to allow her to move around freely. Once the zipline gets activated, the game instantly forces Samus back into morphball mode, which is what happens after I collect the E-tank.
This was recorded off a PSP Gameboy Advance emulator using a plugin called Remote Joy Lite. I had a savestate at the start of each clip so I could retry the trick if I failed.
Not at all, some of them are probably Tool-Assisted, but most of them are possible for humans Unlike Super Metroid, which requires you to break the memory of the game in order to glitch it
1. Well, softlock, bad world design, the map designers changed their minds since Super Metroid, and decided to make spots where you can softlock yourself 2. I mean, wth, Kraid needs to find better and less glitched acid 3. You really hate Power Grip, don't you? (Okay, I see, softlock because you can't grab the Power Grip because you already have it and there are some blocks outside that block you inside until you grab Power Grip, which you can't do because of what I just said. There world designers...) 4. Actually, I found this while I was messing around with the warp cheat, the glass is still intact during the escape sequence 5. That's actually very funny, how does it work? 6. This was obviously intended (seriously, what's wrong with these map designers?!), a casual player wouldn't reach those Shinespark blocks, they obviously wanted to troll whoever ballsparked diagonally for some reason 7. Who needs Space Jump when you have Infinite same wall jump? Haha! 8. 100 units of damage per attack, low i-frames, FREQUENT ATTACKS
If you die the same frame you transition screens, Samus just starts floating like that. You can control her position while in this state, but cannot interact with anything. This flying state can be cancelled by pushing B, which starts the death animation and re-enables interaction with the environment. This is what was used to enter the door on the right while dying.
Sure you can! The heated room section in Norfair that you're supposed to go through after getting the Varia Suit is short enough that if you play well, you can get through it before you run out of energy. Or, if you'd rather not do that, there's a secret shortcut that lets you reach Ridley without going through the heated rooms at all. (I have a feeling I'm getting whooshed pretty hard here, but I'm taking the bait just on the off chance that this person genuinely doesn't know.)
@@hiiambarney4489 Yeah, no, 8% isn't even close to possible. You don't ever have to pick up the Varia Suit from Brinstar, but when you get your suit back in Chozodia, you'll be given the Varia Suit even if you didn't have it before.
Sequence breaks, the heat doesn't make much damage, so you can go through Norfair without the Varia Suit and defeat Ridley, the hard part is that Metroids and Mother Brain can kill you instantly without the Varia Suit

Samus: "Look at me. I am the Mother Brain now."
Honestly, the speed block softlocks are kinda funny.
This is my hole!! Kinda energy

*Shooting Stars meme*
On my recommended, couldn't be happier
that second one is so funny
Zero Mission is so well made that finding glitches is as hard as getting Animal Well to lag.

one of my best childhood games

I can't skip space jump
tricks? ._. samus trapped for life jaja epic video (8)
**laughs in Spanish**
@0:29 best game over scene
@2:13 that is pure genius, I will true that out next time.
@3:41 another nice game over scene.
Thanks for the upload!
How does one keep the hatch at mother brain from closing?
Through failing it to spawn. If you have experimented with e.g. SMW or watch glitch videos of it, you can cause to fail sprites if there are too may onscreen.

If you don't like glitching the game, you can use cheats to warp Samus outside the gate, leave the room, and then enter again to see the show
Both glitching the game and cheating can lead to several consequences like visual glitches and etc.
The developers clearly wanted to crack down hard on shinespark exploits for this game.
Nice tricks :D
2:53 I still don't understand what I'm seeing here. Can someone explain?

how id you record this?

dude you are so good at this game i consider it hacking
