Without question, I beat the game for the first time recently with a ton of video and map help and trying to get all items, I couldn't get one of the energy tanks in Chozodia for the life of me and just threw in the towel. Trying a 2nd playthrough around and just cannot get this one of these missles in the Ridley lair. I get being challenging, but doing that to get items in a nearly impossbile fashion just for the sake of wasting time is where it stops being fun. There are a couple of items in the game like that.
@@jackbrechtel4804For 5 more Missiles when you already have 230, lol. None of the bosses need 250 Missiles to kill anyways. In Dread I suppose having 200+ Missiles is pretty useful at the end of the game but I never understood why they gave you so many in Super, Fusion, and Zero Mission!
@@knivesoutcatchdamouse2137 I've never played past Fusion, but I can imagine. Depends on how you want to finish exactly. The Metroid games I have played, I typically liked to get all the items, but in Fusion and Zero Mission, you pretty much finish the main story without getting most of the items, and in those two at least you got to do some pretty ridiculous stuff to get some of the last items. You are on point indeed though that you typically don't need that much to beat the enemies. At least in Super Metroid, it is a more solid balance of finishing the story line while pretty much being able to get most items. Still, all 3 games mentioned are fun nonetheless, Super Metroid one of my all time favorite games.

I refuse to fight the last boss in these games without first getting ALL of the items. Super Metroid as a youngster and then SoTN in my early teens made me ravenous for what we now call Metroidvanias. And ever since Hollow Knight we have entered a wonderful new Renaissance of the genre. I highly recommend Metroid Dread as well if you have a Switch or get one some day.
MAN, just replayed this gem again, and that missile tank at 1:12 is just pure pain!! I swear the devs asked themselves, "How can we best torture our players?" 😂
You guys are bosses! I definitely found this one terrible, hahaha! Mind you, I RAGED at the "quintuple ramp" section at Chozodia but it somehow felt less cruel :p
Helpful tip: to get the missile tank on the top easier, shoot through the first section, jump on that and enter the second section of blocks, these blocks don't break if you stand on them. If done correctly you'll be standing on that middles piece between the first and second missile tanks. Then just blast open the last block and that missiles tank is yours for the taking. Also let's start a challenge, and see how many people can get these two with the least amount of Missiles. I had 135 at the start of this secret, and now I have 77, how I used 58 missiles.
For who ever is watching this. the very last section for the last missile tanks after breaking the missile block. and entering that curved dash block section hold jump to go up then follow 2 quick jumps to maintain height then let go as quick as possible to go down so basically hold a bit --> 2 quick --> let go
I've already done 100% of Super Metroid,Samus Returns and Other M,and I can say with certainly,none of them have items as outrageously and bs difficult to collect as this game have,holy shit,i'll do 100% just once
@@corydaboss With a lot of pointless resolve, that's how. Always have to leave the place, and return, and if you Speed Boost out of there completely, you also have to Shinespark back in. Still nowhere near as bad as that Energy Tank that requires seven freaking Shinesparks at Chozodia.
This is why zero mission is my least favorite Metroid game ever! Who actually thought disintegrating blocks everywhere was a good idea. This is one Metroid game I will never 100% again if I even do it once!
@rgirard717 to do that you fall of the edge of the platform without pressing A then you press A at the right moment to shinespark in midair. that is one solution. or you can jump to the platform and shinespark there both ways work
you have to fire a missile really fast,then ice shots, then right before you hit the unbreakable wall, jump. It's kinda hard at first, but just keep trying you'll get it.
That’s nothing, on the top of crataria theres a place you have to pixel perfect diagonal morph charge jump. Slowing down and save states are the only way I could managed this game, if anyone could 100% it on a real gba, they have a lot of patience and platforming mastery
@@VladQuake if you mean the super missiles you shinespark to, that method is not pixel perfect, also, it can be done much more easily by wall jumping up a pillar to the right and shinesparking to the left, instead of doing the diagonal shinespark
I still don't understand how they do it. How do they do the bit where they pause mid air and then lunge across to the left to keep the speed booster happening?

On the last one I somehow "stall" about halfway through the speed-boost-break blocks, losing the boost
The one with the space jump i did it without it so its possible just takes a bit more time and effort

Space Jump. You get it at the same time you get the Gravity Suit and the Plasma Beam, assuming you've collected all 3 of the Unknown Items.
You have to collect them.

I was collecting items before against Mother Brain, how can I use Gravity Suit, Plasma Bean and Space Jump while Samus is in Planet Zebes?
You can't unless you have Power Bombs in Chozodia. The tunnel connection the ship and Chozodia can be power bombed.

Hi, how do you do it when you have super acceleration and shoot? at the 0:30 of the video.
You just shoot normaly. The reason why Samus can shoot is because she changes back to her running animation when she climbs the ramp.

I had the same problem. You can avoid it by doing a morph ball jump instead.

Russell Knight you press the A button and apply a direction just like you would to shinespark from the ground.
