+FolkMetalProject on the tick tocks/support swings, your legs do brush some against the horse but it doesn't really affect/impair your swing. long pants can help a little if you find you are sticking some with shorts.
what kind of position should the shoulders be in? (I can do basic things like tuck planche push-ups and straddle-L, so I feel like I should be capable of doing it, but I can't seem to figure out (or achieve) the right position to get a sideways swing. last time I tried it on dip bars it seems that my body twists or something--the lower leg comes in towards the apparatus rather than grazing by. I don't know if it's a strength or a technique problem.
+FolkMetalProject when you are doing stride or sideways swings, your hips are facing forwards like in a split (knees facing forward the whole time) and try and get the back leg higher than the front.

what's the trick to keeping the body clear of the horse for those basic support swings? I just can't seem to get any clearance.

I haven't even tried stride yet, thought I should get the basic support move first. will give it a crack tomorrow. cheers man.
