Hey I plan to either study Radiology tech or Diagnostic Sonographer for 2 years. But first I plan to study first EKG/Phlebotomy for 6months here at a program in New Jersey so I start working in the health field. What do you see worth studying after I do EKG/Phlebotomy? When I start either Radiology or Sonography, I will leave my full time job, and possibly work per diem, part time, or possible not work at all to focus in the study...
Hello 👋 Welcome 🙏🏽 Thanks for watching Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my Videos it helps the channel reach more people 🙏🏽 Ok so this is what I would do… I would go for Radiology Technologist for 2 years. This sets your foundation for your X-ray career. After that you can go back to school for only 1 year & get your Sonography license. Also, you can do CT or MRI in 3 months after you complete your 2 year radiology & pass the ARRT. If you choose Sonography first for 2 years & then say naw I don’t like it. You will then have to go back to school for another 2 years for Radiology Technologist…. So going for Radiology Technologist from the start is best because again it sets up your foundation. Hope this helped 🙏🏽
@@juanmotiva8s959 sounds good thank you for the advise! I do want to mention one more thing… do you think learning exercise science is good for a radiology technologist?
Hello I just found your channel and was curious your opinion on RT as a second career. I am currently a Sign language interpreter and I am wanting to switch over to the RT field. Just wondering. Thanks for giving a peak into the RT world.
Yo sup Ben Welcome & hopefully you consider subscribing 🙏🏽 Ok so Yes any career is good as a second choice as long as it makes you happy & you feel that’s it’s your calling at the moment. Hello! I have a question regarding shifts. I’ve been looking for more information and have seen some state that as a rad tech their shifts could change daily. For example one day they would work a first shift then the next day they had to work third and so on. In your experience are rotating shifts common? Thank you for the insightful vids!
Yo Sup Andrew! Honestly no I have never heard of that. Usually when you get hired you get hired to a certain shift. Also, you can work PRN & work what you want.
Hello and thank you for your videos! I am a first year student nurse and I am doing clinical rotations since some weeks, I've always liked RT career but I choose nursing for the security of the job and the high number of possibility, because I plan to go to live to the UK as soon as possible to reach my wife. The problem is that I am starting to think because I can't understand if I choose the right path. I am an introvert person and I don't like to have many people around me, than I am scared to be sued for a mistake or to be a risk to take disease being constantly at the bedside. I am good in stressful situations but I really can't understand if nursing is for me or not. About the RT i am sure I will enjoy more the job but I am scared because I need a really secure job because i have to go back to my family, so I will nees a visa... Can you give me some advices? Thank you man you are making very helpful videos!
Yo! Welcome 🙏🏽 Thanks for watching Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my Videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽 Ok so I totally understand what you mean but listen stay in nursing school as you said way way way more opportunities than in Xray. Once you’re done as a nurse you don’t have to work in a hospital and if you do choose a small one. Also, after about 2 years of experience you can work on your bachelors degree while you work & then you can be a nursing teacher and don’t have to see patients. So many opportunities stick to nursing you work regret it … you can even move up to become a Nurse Practitioner… big possibilities my friend. You won’t have those same opportunities in xray 🤷🏽♂️ Hope this helped 🙏🏽
Yo sup Mike Ok honestly it all depends on how old you are & what are you trying to get out of the Radiology field ? If you need more in depth please follow me on instagram “JReactz863” dm that it’s you & I will help you 🙏🏽
@@juanmotiva8s959 I am a 21-year-old male. I am looking for a career where I enjoy working every day, which pays decently well. Also, something that is low stress.
Hey Juan, So about the shift work... Is it more typical to work the same shift throughout the week, or a variety? I would much rather have a radio tech job where my shift was the same throughout the week rather than it varying.
Yo! Welcome 🙏🏽 Thanks for watching Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my Videos it helps the channel reach more people 🙏🏽 Ok so shifts are based on what you apply for & what hours you agree to work at least for the hospital because the hospital runs 24/7 but if you work at an imaging center you will have 8:00am - 4:30pm usually so it all depends on where you apply and decide to work. Oh ok bro my bad I’ll answer your question now. So I will be honest with you using a Cane & having chronic back pain will not suit well in a hospital setting. Even during school you much go through a hospital rotation for clinicals & it’s rough man. We lift patients, we push patients on wheelchairs, we slide patients with a backboard. So as a tech it’s a lot of hands on work. This won’t be a good change. If you want a career in the medical field I would suggest looking into Billing & Coding it’s about 1 year and there’s a certificate you can get once you pass that your making around $18-22 hr it’s an office/desk job which is easier on you & sometimes you can work from home which is amazing! Hope this helped bro 🙏🏽
@LuisGarcia-sm2xd At the hospital I work at sonographers have to go get there own patients in stretchers if they are in the hall way but if not the have to push there ultrasound machine around. They are big and slightly heavy so that something tough too.

I’m thinking morning shift. I want all the experience I can get so I can continue my education. I hope I can cross train 😊. I really want to go into VIT or CT.
Day shift is the best work life balance shift but it’s also the busiest.
CT is a good modality
Nice video! Since you say that some scans can be fast, what does an x ray tech do when they aren’t scanning patients? What do other duties look like? Do you have time to sit and rest or no? 😅
Yes there’s definitely some down time & it depends on what time of the year it is.
I between you can restock Your supplies & finish paper work.
mri tech for almost 18 yrs ., i have no regrets ., im just 48 kg but yeah that physical stress is nothing when you love what u do.

Currently looking for a rad tech program to apply to. Do you have any recommendations? Also is the vaccine recommended? Thank you!
Hello
Depends where you live & yes 90% of employers & schools want you to be vaccinated.
Hey bro thanks for you videos, a question, How often does a x -ray tech start a IVs ? Or how often do they use needles?
Yo!
Honestly not at all
We used to do tons of IVP’s back then so we had to start our own IV’s and inject Contrast.
You will only have to start IV’s if you go into CT & MRI not in General Radiology (X-Ray)
Hi Juan, I’m glad I found your channel. I have until the end of the year to enroll into the Rad Tech Program, but I have a DUI wen I was 20 yrs old. I’m now 27. Do you think this will affect my chances of getting into the program? What do you recommend? Thank you❤
Hi Mary 👋
Welcome so if your driver license is in good standing you should be ok.
Before you take any prerequisites what I would do is call the ARRT office 1- 651- 687-0048 & ask them any questions you may have they are super nice & always willing to help.
Also I will try to do some research & make a video for you soon.
Thank you for watching & supporting I hope you consider subscribing 🙏🏽
30 something thousands xrays, hundreds of CT scans, 3 nuclear medicines I've had over 40 years,
Is it true that I will get a very HIGH DOES OF RADIATION?
THEN DEVELOPE CANCER AFTER 20 YEARS?
I was told this by 8 doctors, 3 different hospitals, nurses etc.

Im thinking of becoming a radiologist but before that I want experience in becoming a rad tech first then transfer to a college to get my bachelors, what do you think? I know the process will be longer but do you think I’ll be able to do both

Ok so GREAT question please follow my TikTok under same name “Juanmotiv8s” ask this question under one of my videos and I will make a reply answer with a video to explain why in depth 🙏🏽
Hello 👋
Welcome 🙏🏽
Thanks for watching
Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my Videos it helps the channel reach more people 🙏🏽
Ok so this is what I would do…
I would go for Radiology Technologist for 2 years.
Yo sup Ben
Welcome & hopefully you consider subscribing 🙏🏽
Ok so Yes any career is good as a second choice as long as it makes you happy & you feel that’s it’s your calling at the moment.
Currently I’m pursuing my second career as a barber 💈.
It’s a 10 month program & I will be done in July of this year.
So it’s never to late or impossible for something new ‼️💪🏽💯
Hello! I have a question regarding shifts. I’ve been looking for more information and have seen some state that as a rad tech their shifts could change daily. For example one day they would work a first shift then the next day they had to work third and so on. In your experience are rotating shifts common? Thank you for the insightful vids!
Yo
Sup Andrew!
Yo!
Welcome 🙏🏽

Ok so I totally understand what you mean but listen stay in nursing school as you said way way way more opportunities than in Xray.
You won’t have those same opportunities in xray 🤷🏽♂️
Hope this helped 🙏🏽
In your opinion, do the pros outway the cons?
Yo sup Mike

Hey Juan,
So about the shift work... Is it more typical to work the same shift throughout the week, or a variety? I would much rather have a radio tech job where my shift was the same throughout the week rather than it varying.
Yo!
Welcome 🙏🏽
Thanks for watching
Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my Videos it helps the channel reach more people 🙏🏽
Ok so shifts are based on what you apply for & what hours you agree to work at least for the hospital because the hospital runs 24/7 but if you work at an imaging center you will have 8:00am - 4:30pm usually so it all depends on where you apply and decide to work.
Hope this helped 🙏🏽

I have a really stupid question about x-ray markers, but I can't find any solid answers on google. Will markers with a magnetic back stick to the IR and/or the bucky? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, :)
Hi Heather 👋
Welcome 🙏🏽
Thank you for watching & please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos it helps the channel reach more people 🙏🏽
Ok so this is a great question & the answer is no the magnet 🧲 will not stick and it will make your markers heavy which then while you use then can slip without you knowing and when you expose it will be in the anatomy which in return you will have to Re-Expose the patient and that’s a big No No !
Hope this helped 🙏🏽

@juanmotiva8s959 sounds good juan let me know when It drops so I could watch it I only have a TH-cam and LinkedIn
@juanmotiva8s959 ok, thanks for the insight. What are your thoughts on sonography with accommodations?
@LuisGarcia-sm2xd At the hospital I work at sonographers have to go get there own patients in stretchers if they are in the hall way but if not the have to push there ultrasound machine around. They are big and slightly heavy so that something tough too.
