- Join Kenny of All Trades as he shares his rainy weekend in the truck camper, showcasing the challenges and joys of dry camping in less-than-ideal conditions.
This week I'm taking you onto tax forfeit land west of Backus. I was looking google maps trying to find a spot to camp. I know there are multiple pull-offs down a forest road in the Foothills State Forest. Those spots are used by deer hunters. The sites are usually bigger and will fit two or three campers. The disadvantage of these sites is they are socked in the woods without big views. So, when I saw this sight had a smaller pond on the backside, I figured we would give it a try.
I don't think this spot gets used much. It was overgrown and the trail leading to the water was grown over. I've been carrying weed whip in the camper for a few weeks. This week I was able to put it to work. The fire pit needed attention. It just so happened the grader went through and kicked up a bunch of rocks, I built a respectable fire pit. This weekend was nothing spectacular. It has been raining so much. I need to figure out a way to share how comfy the camper is in the rain without it being to boring to watch.

It's been my experience that if you don't feed a dog off of your plate, he doesn't equate it to something he wants to eat. Therefore they don't beg or bother you while you're eating. Anyone who watches your videos can tell Toby is loved and happy. He's such a good, well behaved, beautiful dog.
Another great video, Kenny. Thank you for the peace you, toby and your videos bring. Sadly, there are far too many people who lack boundaries. It is okay to delete, block, unfriend and ban people to maintain your peace and integrity and the wellbeing of your amazing channel.
I totally agree with you. He doesn’t need the naysayers polluting his channel. I hope he doesn’t take their unsolicited, lip-flapping opinions to heart because their opinions are meaningless when they don’t watch the episodes on this channel.
The internet is full of experts on everyone else's pets, kids, cars and food. An expert is just someone who hasn't been ended by their own expertise yet.

My late doggie had the most sensitive stomach when she was little. She was about a year and a half when we were able to give her regular dog treats.

My wife an I really enjoy your videos. Years ago I lived in Iowa and moved to Arizona in 2001. I use to go tent camping in Iowa with my oldest son. {He is 39 now) Seeing your videos brings back many good memories. Like when i was in my teens (1970's) I would wrap potatoes and onions in foil for my mom and I would cook them on the grill. My parents lived in Michigan then and we had a small camper. Now 50 years later my wife and I are on our third travel trailer. We always take our dog when we travel. He is so smart and knows when we are getting ready for a trip. Back in 2018 we tried to have a channel, but it was too hard. We truly appreciate all of the work you put into your channel. We look forward to your adventures every week. I have a rescue pit mix named Oreo, and he's awesome... but... man Toby is just the most chill dog ever. He did a great job on that firepit too haha
The sound of those mosquitoes in my headphones... made me want to slap the back of my neck and I got all itchy feeling.
Gotta admit I've been guilty of internally yelling "GIVE THAT GOOD BOY SOME OF THE STEAK" but now that you've shared his tummy issues I understand. There would be people yelling about it if you fed him off your plate too. That dog is well loved and anyone with a brain can see that.

@KennyOfAllTrades ohhhh they are horrible! Although we have seen some dragonflies.....so when they complete their hatch, things get better really fast. They eat a lot of bugs. We just need a few more warm sunny days......lol. 🌞

Yesterday, I was heading 4 hours north to the cabin to film next weeks video after being up at 5AM and editing this weeks video until 6PM…I was tired and feeling discouraged, and then thought, “This is what Kenny does every week!” Working a job and then heading out into the woods… Your hard work and dedication don’t go unnoticed brother!

Thanks! It's always a double-edged sword when videos get more views. The fuel bill starts to get paid, but the folks with ugly hearts full of hate show up. I'm glad that I have a great bunch of regular viewrs who enjoy the videos for what they are. I tell myself to stop reading comments on Thursday nights. Otherwise, come Friday, I don't even want to press record. The good news is that the positive comments outweigh the bad big time. I've probably got over a 150 comments throughout all the videos today. I've only had to delete and block 5 or 6 people. So that's not too bad. I really appreciate you guys and your kind words.

I had someone else mention that. TH-cam automatically switched over the commercials to a non skippable add a few weeks back. . Unfortunately I can't change it. I can either have them on or off. TH-cam wants to put 7 breaks in the video. I drop it down to 3. I hope it doesn't affect the viewers' experience.

I know that feeling of loving your camper. There’s an infinity you have for your own camper. I have people ask me all the time how I handle living in a camper as much as I do and I can never really explain it. It’s all about the experience.

I had a 110 lb pittie named Joe. He lived to almost 16 yrs old. My best fur baby ever. Now I have Hank. Can't change his diet or he has issues as well. Toby is obviously loved. He's beautiful! ❤

Dude, I see your video posted and I just get excited. Then I hear your voice and immediately relax, and Toby just makes me smile! You have brought him such a long way in a very short time. Fills my heart w joy! I use a natural spray on my dogs to help stop the mosquitoes from landing on them. Its citronella and a blend of other herbs. I get it at a small pet shops. Pet Smart etc probably carries it, I just don’t shop in those stores if I can help it. I’ve used the spray for years in conjunction w heartworm and flea meds and they enjoy hanging outside w me more cuz they aren’t annoyed. Keep truckin’ dude! We appreciate it!

I was trying to figure out what I could do to capture more of the rain. I sat I the camper until noon on Saturday waiting for the rain to pass. I wish I could think of something to show relaxing it can be in the camper in the rain. Saturday night the rain moved in as well. Sunday was so humid. The air was so thick! we've been having a lot of rain all week.

I am in northern Michigan, and we are stuck in that heat bubble it's been touching 90 degrees for the last three days. You are doing great Kenny, see ya next week.
