    I cut up Magic Eraser sponges into small pieces to remove paint that is unwanted. Let the piece dry thoroughly, dampen the sponge piece, and erase! It works great for areas like your margin!

    Love this! Have you tried Tombow Mono sand erasers? They are pretty cheap on Amazon. They work kind of like really, super fine grit sandpaper, great for cleaning up boarders if the paint bleeds especially if it is just a little bit at the corner like that. I find they work best if you gently lift off as much as you can like you did, let it dry completely and then you can erase. You can also tape the boarder on the opposite side so you don't take any paint off of the painting accidentally.

    Try using a hairdryer over the tape first- it melts the glue and makes the tape easier to remove.

      Here's what I used in this video 😁 I was rather surprised to see the online reviews as I thought this paper worked really well.

      The reviews are just bad because different Artist like different things about different paper. Most watercolour artist's prefer 100% Cotton, CP or rough I'm one of them but I also believe that there are things I can do on a decent quality cheap paper like this one or Canson XL like achieve that cool staining effect or get a more marbled look like you got here that I could never do on a cotton paper. As long as you look it and the art looks awesome, which it does that's all that matters.

    Abstract is not "planned". Its about expressing yourself and not thinking about the final outcome.

    • @SparrowSprings
      @SparrowSprings  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Here’s the definition.
      Art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, forms, colors, and textures.
      It can be intentional or unintentional 😉 some people just practice it differently

  • @punnu5997

    • @ivi122
      @ivi122 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t like it either. Seems very novice/beginner. I made a painting a few years ago that looked very similar to that. I got discouraged and stopped practicing but now I’m going to start practicing and trying to get better.

  • @davidhunt7249
    @davidhunt7249 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I want to be gentle here...Abstraction is not planned.
    Form from a constant mental contrast that is non-stop.
    Complexity and simplicity balled into a systemic equalization
    at any given dimension at any given occurrence with all
    distractions being equal. Total distraction within a model
    undetermined.

    • @SparrowSprings
      @SparrowSprings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I understand that there are different schools of thought. In the simplest definition abstract art is art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, forms, colors, and textures. So yes, it can be planned, but it’s ok if that’s not your preferred approach. Have a nice day 😁

    • @davidhunt7249
      @davidhunt7249 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Your version of abstraction is lukewarm at best. And quit telling follks to "have a nice day". It's shallow.

    • @SparrowSprings
      @SparrowSprings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I guess I prefer it this way if your way leads to that sort of attitude 😉

    I wanted you to know how much I loved this tutorial. I'm not as accomplished as you, but I love watercolor painting. I've used masking fluid but didn't like the results. I'll give rubber cement a try. A tip: Magic Eraser is a great tool for getting rid of unwanted bleeds under tape or unwanted drips. Get it a little wet and rub lightly. @katerky1
