Wow! He is playing wild and free and with such a light touch that I feel that this is what butterflies dance to. Beautiful!

Joe Bova - New Music Society Syracuse (still swingin'). Great (rare) Savoy side from the late 50's featuring non-Bley track "WHEN WILL THE BLUES LEAVE", an Ornette tune composed at a time when Coleman and Bley were part of the same quintet with Don Cherry, Billy Higgins, and Charlie Haden.

Paul Bley al que tuve el gusto de conocer en 1984, en este trio con el gran Steve Swallow cuando todavía tocaba el contrabajo luego pasaría a tocar hasta hoy el bajo eléctrico, en la batería Pete LaRoca.

What a great selection of tunes! A wonderful Paul Bley contribution is on an album with Sonny Rollins and Coleman Hawkins.

So true! His solo on that album is striking!… talking about dissonant chords!!

My favorite Paul Bley album! Hard to find rare item on savoy. He gets into a swinging groove with his unusual dissonant chords and progressions. Great stuff. Thanks for posting!

Really love this. His early ensemble sound. Steve Swallow on acoustic bass. Paul Bley is my current favorite player in all his incarnations. Thanks for posting this.

This could be Jarrett - except it's '63...

Everyone should know Keith was very influenced by Blev in his youth. On the album Tales of another he sounds more like Paul Bley than himself. Good thing he got over it.

I can hear Keith Jarret in PB playing.

Jarrett is great, of course. I do believe the influence goes the other way round though.

More like jarrett heard and was influenced by bley.

@@user-fg4fr2bz5y For sure. As a student in Boston, Keith met Paul, who gave him this album. Thou I love Jarrett, Bley is the true pioneer. Not to forget Carlas strong compositions on this album.

Please show respect for ALL the players by listing the names and instruments played when you upload their music. Thanks...

Why dont you help add them in instead of shitting on a nice person uploading a quite rare album ? Not everyone has the vynil sleeve at hand, and the info on streaming sites is exactly as depicted. Be constructive if you can actually help, otherwise you're just one dissonant voice in a sea of people enjoying this nice gift...
