For those of you like me that really wanted to try this, but aren’t really good with spicy food, you can cut the gochugaru by half and it’s still really good. Tested it today and used mushrooms instead of seafood as well because I didn’t have any... thanks for recipe Seonkyoung!

First time trying tofu; first time trying Korean soup; first time trying rice cakes (because I bought the round ones and really wanted to try them so I just threw them in). Dear Lordt, this soup was so good I started talking to myself in Korean. I don’t even speak Korean. My eyes and nose started randomly running though before I realized what was going on. But I couldn’t stop eating. Wiping my face and stuffing my mouth, what an experience.

You can ALWAYS make good food on an electric stove/burner/etc! It’s better for your health and your air quality indoors since you aren’t breathing in the harmful emissions released from using a gas or propane stove. So power to you and your electric skillet 🙌🏻

Made this last night. {I skipped the seafood and instead before adding the tofu I poached chicken thighs in the simmering broth and removed them when they were just done, to avoid dryness. I added the shredded chicken to the bottom of the bowl and ladled the boiling finished soup on top} I can't tell you how amazing it was! And I was kind shocked at how such a simple stock could be so deep and flavorful. I've tried a few of your recipes now and they absolutely do not disappoint!💗

I have made this 6 or 7 times and I always come back to this video to remember how you do it. Sometimes, I change 1 or 2 ingredients, but I always watch this video first! The first couple of times, I used anchovy oil I got in Italy, then switched to Vietnamese. Both amazing. I always use Japanese soy sauce because I always have a gallon around. Tried ground pork this time and it was the bomb.

Next time I will buy the Sempio soup soy sauce (I saw it and bought the regular one) and I’ll skip the seafood. I love it with just mushrooms. My Korean grocery store had seaweed stems which made it the perfect meal. Thank you Seonkyoung!
