Hello, 12/23 11:22p. What about foreclosure properties with minor repairs. Could that be an option in some areas. Love bugs 😳 is that only in Savannah Ga. Do they linger on throughout the entire year?

Foreclosures are a good option if they are not in such bad condition that the lender wouldn’t finance them. Minor cosmetic repairs would probably be just fine. Love bugs are only around for about 4-6 weeks in the fall so luckily not a problem all year.

We are trying to buy a house in the Savannah area but have had 3 deals fall thru after an excepted offer. One the appraisal was so far off it was too far upside down. The last deal we found out anything we buy would need to be a second home because we live in Michigan, I’m retiring and my wife is a traveling nurse. She was buying the home as a first time home buyer but it would be a second home??? We have the pre approvals, plenty of cash but it’s one crazy nightmare after another. We started in January and wanted to build. But by the time there was any inventory the prices and interest went crazy. Now we must move and rent if we have a chance of getting anything. That was the last thing we ever wanted to do. Now we need to decide if our dream of moving to that location is even worth it. Beyond frustrated with the entire system!

We have property of 1.2 acres in Statesboro and wanting to build a spec home to sell or possibly rent. What would be better?
We rent in Pooler but want to buy a home within the next couple years in Bluffton.

Moodys says Savannah area is overvalued.

I really don’t think that it is unless you’re buying waterfront property. And even then it’s still less than most other areas. I use the term Savannah to cover the entire metro area though.

My son has one more year in high school here in VT. My husband and I are looking to move south to get out of the snow. We have to sell our home of 22 yrs first though. With it being a sellers market, would it be wiser to rent first to see if the market settles a little bit in 2023? My issue is I have 2 very large dogs. Is it possible to find a rental with them? Thank you.
