    I visited Savannah last May after visiting New Orleans, LA. I have to confess Savannah is a lot more classier than NOLA. Savannah is a strong #2 as a place to relocate to. New Bern, NC is my #1 a lot of similarities between the two towns.

    • @georgiacoasthomes

      I haven't ever been to New Bern but I agree with you about NOLA. It was a fun place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

    Every year we vacation in Hilton Head. I like to play golf and use the Golf Now App for good deals. Last year I got a good deal on a round in Savannah. It was a little farther away than I would usually go but thought "Hey, I'll get to add a GA logo ball to my collection". I went across that bridge into the city and felt like I was launching into space, LOL. I took a picture but unfortunately the camera on my phone doesn't do it justice. I saw very little of your city, but I got the impression it's an historic place. Alas I still did not get to see an alligator. We have vacationed the area for 22 years now, and zero alligators. We hear the stories but I tell my wife and girls that they must be a myth like Sasquatch. I played a round one year at Hilton Head Lakes with two gentlemen from Savannah the year they built it. My ball landed in a wooded area and they said if I went in there after it I may not come out. But they seriously seemed more worried about spiders than alligators.

Unfortunately we sold it before we moved to Savannah so I haven't stayed at any of these, but the ones I know of are the one on Tybee Island (too far to drive to Pooler everyday IMHO) and one along I-95 in the Richmond Hill area that looks very nice. If you're unhappy in a city, you're unhappy anywhere. Try living in the rural areas of Ohio and tell me you're satisfied with nothing to do and corn fields as far as the eye can see, with the worst heroin problem in the country at Hamilton and Butler counties. How would you feel about New York? Los Angeles? Miami? I love watching people moan about any place, no matter what the upside, they focus on the downside. And they move somewhere else and hate there too. No surprise. Work on yourself and maybe you'll be happy somewhere. Because no matter where you go, there you are.

    Hi Karin,
    Thank you so much for all your content, it has been really helpful since I start looking for moving to Savannah with my family.
    We are from Brasil , and I`m plaining to study at SCAD next year... So definitively it will be a huge change for all of us.
    And to be honest, It s been really hard to find some good recommendations about good places to live.
    I know that you must have something better to do than talk to this crazy dude here. But It would be awesome if you could help me with this.
    Which neighborhood should I pick, considering the following scenario:
    1 - Schools // I have a 4 years old daughter and a 2 years old son.
    2 - Violence // I heard in other youtube channel about savannah is not the safest place on the earth ( who I`m to talk about violence, I`m from São Paulo) Anyway, would be good be in the safest areas
    3 - Close SCAD campus
    Thank you so much
    Felipe

    • @KarinCarr
      @KarinCarr 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Felipe! Bryan County (Richmond Hill) and Effingham County (Guyton and Rincon) are known for their good schools, and the schools on the east side of Savannah on the islands are as well. As for violence, it's a city and any city has crime. The worst I've personally experienced was someone breaking into cars in our neighborhood. As for being close to SCAD, I'd say the Victorian district or Midtown or even the Southside would be closest,. I'd be happy to go into more detail if you need more advice. Just email me at karin@georgiacoasthomes.com.
