10:17 I really analyzed a 1 move queen blunder LMAO
Nice one
Why would you though lmfao
You are becoming one of us.
But queen e7 is more stylish

Lmao we all missed it
King: *rolls up sleeves*
“I’ll do it myself”
It's always satisfying when the king saves the day in the endgame. I played a game recently where I was dead lost, only king left, but opponent made a mistake with positioning. Opponent had bishop and knight, he chose to put them next to each other, one square away from my king. I move king beside the two, bishop couldn't defend knight, knight couldn't defend bishop, other king was too far away, therefore fork, therefore one of the two will be taken and that is a stalemate by insufficient material. My favorite non-win ever.
@@stoutlager6325 not stalemate but actually a draw by insuff....
@@stoutlager6325 it's a draw by insufficient material*
@@stoutlager6325 If your opponent hung a king fork at the endgame, then I'm sure in a million years he wouldnt be able to checkmate you with only a knight and a bishop

Ah, i see you are a man of culture as well
He as shit, plays the first move with king too!! 🙄
Then his brother plays an illegal move
Perfect quote for this one....
@@amanhasnoname1052 the quote comes from the game played on the first episode, where Lelouch enters an already endgame situation where playing a defensive king move is one way of checkmating while flexing. He says it again against his brother, and then it's actually the best move, bu then Schneizel plays an illegal move to mindfuck him
It’s 2 minutes into the video and we already have the “Eric Rosen screams in delight” line. Never change, Levy.
I love that he knows his audience so well that he can make inside jokes that only we will get
The epic Isab regen camo red will reign supreme

@@mastersamurai6960 Excellent choice of words
Sadly connect four isn’t possible though as levy missed the forced en passant
"If only I had another piece to attack with. Wait a second..."
I make 5 king moves in a row and I end up being the noob in Guess the ELO
Or you’re in a endgame

A king is like a child. It should be taken on walks to develop its natural strength. This grandmaster is a great educator and deserves recognition as well as a position in the ministry of education.
It's also like a child because bishops like to have a good view at it
Jesus Christ this thread got dark real quick

That repetition of moves is forever saved in the data base for Hikaru and Magnus.
The virgin Bongcloud opening vs the Chad King Walk
@@ironerrow618 You say that like it's a good thing
Pieces: Its very hard to mate this King..
King: Observe
It's like when the goalkeeper joins the team on the attack.
King walks out into the middle of board in a pieceless endgame, and nobody bats an eye
King walks out into the middle of board during the middlegame with rooks and queens on board, and everyone loses their minds
Could you analyze some games by Tal? His sacrifices and king hunts never fail to amaze me.
Just head over to Agadmator's channels for this kind of content. Like Levy said he isn't interested in doing a lot of videos like this.
@tarzan True, I'm still waiting for the conclusion of the Morphy saga.
@@Axiomatic75 no disrespect intended at Agadmator, but I honestly prefer Levy's coverage of these historic games. Not only is Levy much more charismatic and entertaining imo, but Agadmator's whole video layout is extremely cluttered and, again imo, ugly. I still find his videos educational, but if I have the choice between watching the same game being covered by Levy or by Antonio, I'm picking Levy.
@@princepsangelusmors I have to agree. I do like them both very much but slightly prefer Levy.

A man and his wife finally working together to achieve their goals, such a wholesome family moment
You know you’ve paralyzed you opponent when they have a bishop, queen, and two rooks. Yet it’s still safe enough to walk your king across the entire board.
2:13 “eric rosen is squealing in delightl somewhere” lmao i died laughing tho he would probably love this
The king be like, "Ah, fine, you incompetent schmucks, I'll do it myself".
Levy you’re legitimately the only content creator on TH-cam that I actively follow and I love all your videos, the recaps, the history ones, guess the elo, win at chess, everything!
(But guess the elo is my favorite because of how educational it is in addition to win at chess)
"Is this King Walk game a long game? I don't even know who's playing."
"It's Short."
I can just picture him holding back laughter as he started moving his king up the board
Short: makes a king walk and wins
People who are included in Guess the Elo: make a king walk and loose in about 10 moves
King: "Fine, I'll do it myself"
The King being the final attacker reminds of Alisson Becker's Liverpool goal when they beat West Bromwich a month ago.
Didn't you found strange that no one was marking him when He scored ? 😃
King: It’s been a time since I’ve joined the battlefield”
LOTR reference with the Rohan king or I'm missing on something?
Love these types of videos, would enjoy more as a new player this year - learning and seeing these types of games that I would never have found (yet) with the bonus of narration by the awesome Lev, cheers for the video!👍
Nigel Shorts king: help Queen mate. My King: Are we done yet.
My daily routines now include watching Levy's videos. I can't skip even for once. Thank you Levy, and wish all the best for you.
I’m really happy you’re covering this game! It’s one of my favorite game s of all time because of how savage the king walk it!
"Imagine a King who fights his own battle"
Nice Troy reference
Levy I just rewatched your blackmar gambit video for the second time, i then as a 1000 rated player played the best game Ive ever played. Thank you for being a great instructor.
Absolute domination on the kingside dark squares, and it all stems from 2.e5 and the play around that pawn. Such a torn!
I played Jan Timman in a simul around 10 years ago. Feels like an absolute honor to be honest
I mean for the football analogy I would've preferred comparing the chess game (and specifically the king) to the goalkeeper changing the outcome of the game and scoring by going all the way up the field, but hey, Americans.
I remember seeing this on agadmator’s channel a couple of years ago, you did a great cover of the game as well!
This game reminded me of Liverpool vs west brom when Alison came into the opposition box and secured a win by delivering headed goal at the last moment of the match.
haha, maybe nigel short's king should get an inform
Thanks Levy. I haven't seen this game before and you covering it really made my day
You’d think that a game with that many king moves would be pretty… Short… heh heh heh…
no
I see what you did there.
Aways remember: Tal is short and Short is tall
@@EPE444 lol
Nah
One of the greatest games ever played. It's impossible to forget once you've seen it.
Swear to god if this is perpetual check I will force feed levy rotten tomatoes
Get ready to be pinned!
I've moved several king moves in a row and won.... in an endgame
I absolutely love these games from history. Even though I’ve studied and analyzed many of them, it’s always fun to watch your content on them. However, I thought it could be fun if you could cover some historic tournaments, much like your commentary on modern tournaments. For example, Bobby Fischer’s historic first US Championship, or the 1959 Candidates Tournament. Plus, this way you won’t have to make an entire video on just one game (even though some games are truly deserving of that).
The King : Fine I'll do it my self
I'm a total chess noob so I especially appreciate you covering these historic games and filling me in on the awesome things that happened!
I have no idea if it’s possible to explain this game for an amateur audience, but maybe the most astounding historical game I’ve seen is Smyslov vs. Panov 1943. Brutal positional dominance by Smyslov.
Man what a walk
KING : IM COMING FOR YOU
its like a goalkeeper make a heading goal by corner kick assist in the last minutes
Imagine if someone submitted this game in a guess the elo episode that would be hilarious 😂
Anyone else notice he winked when saying “somewhere eric Rosen squeals in delight”? Levy really do be sending secret signals to Eric.
I don’t think I’ve seen this one before. This is one game that really deserves the “immortal” title! Thanks Levy.
my mind can't sleep overthinking everything at 2am

Amazing game, and amazing storytelling. Thanks for the game Levy
absolutely loved this game, thank you for the video Levy
King: * rolls up sleeves * Imma get'em with ma bare fists
I wait for your videos every single day. You actually make me happier
Another recap vid?! Gotta love it!!
I love these one-game analyses!
I'm listening to Nigel Short at the 2021 FIDE World Cup Men's Finals. Thought I'd check out this game.
Thanks so much for all you do Levy.I’ve learned so much from your instruction, analysis and guess the elo vids, and may I add in the most entertaining of ways.Congratulations to you on your well deserved success....The hardest working man in show business!☮️⚠️💯
Wow that move at 3:35 is just a great idea for that annoying bishop pin, I've learned a new thing now, thx Levi
You should cover Tal. Almost impossible to find more exciting content than his games.
I'd love to get a video dedicated to the Fischer-Petrosian game where they wound up with four queens on the board at once.
In the late eighties, There was Kasparov and Karpov. Jan Timman was considered Te Best of The Rest. And he was. Actually he played a match against Karpov in ...I think 1993...for the FIDE world title. Kasparov and Nigel Short had their own association...so Karpov and Timman played. Timman lost but it was a nice match. I actually saw 2 games of K and T in Zwolle Netherlands. Timman was one of the very best players in that Era. You can look it up. Just write ...Jan Timman...and you'll see wat a chessplayer he was.
Maybe you could do a series where you review top 10 classical chess players’ best games.
Can u do a video on using flank pawns to attack castled kings fianchettoed and non-fianchettoed
I just saw the video and watched the first 53 seconds and let me tell you this ... i love this game it was my first game to study from a very average chess book i had ten years ago ... and i am so excited to watch it here ... Thanks brother 🤩❤❤
I was watching a Gotham video when I was interrupted by the notification for a Gotham video. Of course I need to watch this Gotham video before going back to the other Gotham video.
Nigels king to Jan's king: Wassup, can a loc come up in your crib?
I had never seen this game before. Thanks for doing the video!
Reminds me of Tarrasch-Reti, Vienna 1922. Also Alekhine-Yates, where white's king E5 traps a rook.
“If you want something done you do it yourself”
-Some King, somewhere.
The game with your narration was even more entertaining
What was the other game levy has a video on where king gets hooked all the way and gets mated on the opposite backrank
Petrosian vs Unzicker with 4 king moves is also pretty interesting.
King and Queen endgame vs King: *Am I a joke to you?*
king be like "hold my beer"
This is like Alisson (goalkeeper) coming up and scoring the winning goal
Back in 2nd grade in nationals, I did a king walk where I got my king to h6 with my opponent king on h8. I had a Bishop on c4 blocking off g7 and a rook on a8.
I played Kg8#
12:48 does Nh4, f3, followed by Nxg6 and Rh4 work as well? I have a feeling that black might be able to complicate matters after h4 h5 Kh2 with ...Bc8.
Sorry if I'm missing something obvious
Pretty sure the Nh4 attacking sequence just gets stopped in its tracks by ...Bc8.
@@MisterNohbdy I think in that case white can immediately play Nxg6 hxg6 (fxg6 allows Qg7#; Qxg2+ is met by Kxg2) Rh3 with the unstoppable threat of Rh8#.
12:34 The amount of times I've done this in games, making a move when I'm just trying to clear my selection
my main opening includes the legendary king walk
Of course, it's f**king "Tilburg" again.
Damm Levi working the TH-cam grind, best chess commentary
Bro, that's maybe the coolest game I've ever seen, lol! Thanks for covering it!
jan tinnman: ha ha i am in my home ground u cant beat me
nigel short : he he stop joking my king go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Do as many single game videos and you want. You are indeed an amazing creator.
“Fine. I’ll do it myself”
Lol this king did a Thanos "Fine, I'd do it myself."
Me: have you not heard of the triple bongcloud?
I think there is another king-walk game between a world champion and somebody else, that champion ran his king from the kingside to the queenside and won.
holy shit when he said doing some work in the office I felt so called out dude
Reality: *it was a position where he didn’t have any other pieces*
“If the king does not lead, how can he expect his subordinates to follow?” -Lelouch Lamperouge
US football analogies do not cut it. This is like a soccer goalkeeper, taking the ball from his penalty area to the opposite field, dribbling past the other team’s defenders and scoring a goal (see: Chilavert). This is not a king run where the king runs to safety,so, this is not a more plausible goal-keeper goal where they go forward for a corner kick or a penalty (still rare). Thus, a super rare Chilavert style goal.
Whooo 2 gotham vids a day now!
The king just needed to get some air
King walk with supposed Fischer game (against Short?) was also amazing.
