There's actually a surface cave at the red obelisk area. You should be able to build there. You'd have to look around for it but keep an eye out for metal structures. That will mark the entrance.

There’s actually 5 entrances you could’ve tested, I already tested one with torches and dilos, there’s also a tiny cave in one of the surfaces, the entrance near the portal, where half of it doesn’t burn
The reason the base u built at 5:15 withstood the daytime was if u go out of tender range anything out of render range does not get damaged, including Dino’s
No I also testing it when i was right next to it aswell, multi times, the building never got damage, how ever a drake died once when i parked it on the roof

A bit late to tell you this, but there is a glitch where no matter where you are, regardless of time of day in a singleplayer world, when you log out and log back in on the surface you immediately begin burning.
Down side is if you do build in the sweet spot so it doesn't get destroyed what happened when the devs patch it and you loose everything? Realistically stone, metal and especially Tek shouldn't get destroyed on the surface. On my Xbox pve cluster server called "The Community" all structure types are immune to dmg so you can easily build on the surface but same day time dmg to you.
Hey Nooblets just curious here but foundations seem to be fine in your other video, so when you made the foundation barrier to see where you could build they were undamaged yet the walls were damaged. My question is for that barrier will walls be destroyed on the edge?
I like what U do. I was woundering if u could do a recap on the crafting skill? I’ve looked around and most don’t realize that around 200-250% that u can get double of some things like spark powder. I’m curious if it does the same for ammo or if it changes when crafting is maxed

Steve, I have a question.So when we made a reaper trap, we did it in a non radioactive area.We got I down to a little under 2k health, and I didn't do the pink glow, so does it have to be in the radioactive area?

These are very interesting to watch but in my opinion surface bases aren't too practical even if they did work most of the time. The time changes depending on the day so u can have 90% night 10% day or 90%day and 10% night or 50% day and 50% night depending on what u get it can make it hard to live on the surface the only base practical enough was your base on the edge of the surface but then u would block a entrance and piss plenty of people off wich would most likely = to being wiped. Im not bashing u at all i love ur channel and content. And its fun too watch u try these things dont think im trying to be rude.
Everyone if you want to get to the surface and be able to get drops just get 100+ ravenger then get speed to 180 and you can easily get the drops without having to risk losing your take

Down side is if you do build in the sweet spot so it doesn't get destroyed what happened when the devs patch it and you loose everything? You should try using those underwater tek chambers that protect you from the aberration radiation...

you forgot to test the north entrance for the south-west surface. The one that is actualy the most easyest to find :D

You can build a vault base if your on pvp, you can farm the mats up there and collect the drops

Build your base on top of him so he can get xp from all your crafting and then... when he is over 9000 he will break free... your welcome
Why would you want a base there? Is there stuff to farm or anything or its just for map awarness? (Havent played since this map update)

A drake is far better
We bred amazing ravagers, huge packs of them. Then we got rock drakes. We never use the ravagers any more.
