i'm not in a position to tell people how to parent but giving your kid a phone/tablet (especially if it has internet access) at 4 yrs old is REALLY young.

You feel like you will never have a good enough body, a good enough job, a good enough family and that you'll never be good enough for a partner. Facebook increased my major depressive order so much, but since leaving, it has improved along with the help of meds.

Yeah and take away tvs, computers and phones, and you know what society blamed things on? whatever was popular at the time. Did you know back in the victorian era, people used to complain about people's obsession with short hand written messages as oppossed to long well thought out, articulated letters and people have written complaints identical to the one's use we today for phones? that peoples faces are now always in short messages instead of reading long articulated letters. So....the pattern. People will continually critique and pass judgement on the things that orientate a majority of our time. Be it, TV, Computers, Phones, what is the actual difference, I could spend a month of my life watching historical documentaries on youtube, is that any less valuable than reading history books at a library? It certainly would take up more time if I did and far less convenient. Phones engage us into social settings that we would never be exposed to other wise. Which is good and bad for each specific reason. Internets cult of out rage created SJW's and also Critical Thinkers and Skeptics and everyone else. the good and bad are always present with everything. Long term effects of phone useage, try the long term effects of sports injuries from excessive sports activities that people force onto their kids thinking its good for them.

parental responsibility was thrown out by liberals making parenting methods that involve asking babies (even infants) if they want their diapers changed. it's neglect and it's hiding under this idea that we should treat babies like adults and not take care of them unless they ask you to. we're talking about babies walking around with constant diaper rash because they didn't ask to have their diaper changed so to do so would be a breach of trust. oh and don't think that a baby crying means they want you to take care of their needs because if they cry it means don't take care of them. i'm not even making this up. it's a real movement happening now primarily among young liberal parents.

A lot of times, it's just more convenient to give a kid a tablet or a phone just to help them behave in public, sadly. I've seen many such children who spend all day on these devices, failing to interact with the environment (other people, toys, games, books, etc.) but becoming eloquent on social media or games, like the son in this family.
As was mentioned, giving him something to do outside of the tablet helps him cut his time down. The parents need to lead by example and put their phones down, too. My parents did the same thing, and they used to force me to read, interact with people professionally at a very young age, answer the home phone, etc., and they always led by example. Kids idolize their parents, and these parents can't place all of the blame on social media or the devices social media platforms use.

I've gotten rid of Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat. Can't seem to get away from TH-cam and Twitter. Although I will say, I use Twitter for political news and TH-cam mostly for news and documentaries so I'm not completely wasting my time doing nothing.

Thank you. I needed this. It was sometime after 1am on the UK when I was about to switch off my phone when I saw this pop up in my notifications (ironically!).
It's literally got to a point where I'm wasting my life on Facebook. It's so addictive I check it first thing in the morning, ignore people's texts and WhatsApp and don't want to speak to others. I've noticed I've gotten lazier, I get frustrated plus my attention span has gotten so short. Normally I'll read a few news websites but I couldn't even concentrate to read.
Not only that, but it's like God keeps pointing out certain things I'm meant to be getting on with instead and I keep ignoring. This video has made up my mind. I'm old enough to remember life before the Internet was needed for everything so I just want a steadier pace. Use it for important things like events etc instead of splurging my life in it.
Not only that, but didn't they notice a certain swearword in full view on this? It's meant to be a family show!

I don't care to look at my phone. I have to leave it off of my person at work for HIPAA reasons, and I don't even check it but once or twice a day to respond - selectively - to my best mate's text msgs and to make sure that there is nothing super important (like a txt about my bank account or a medical emergency). @Jesus.Is.My.Captain 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@Non-religiou Your response is telling me you are unable to understand my point. Let me explain for you in an easier language. You wrote ‘ don’t bring religion into this ‘. What I understood from that is that YOU are telling me to stop telling people about Jesus. Now my response means that Peter did a similar thing to Jesus by telling him that he was not to go to the cross. Now if Jesus had listened to Peter in the same way you want me to listen to you , then no one would be able to be saved and inherit eternal life because the world would not have a saviour. JESUS was sent to save people from their sins - WE are here for the purpose of telling people about Jesus so they can go to Jesus and be healed and saved. There are people in this world that cannot be silenced no matter how much people scream and shout at them like a child who is having a tantrum because they cannot get their own way. Here is an example - And when he had said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. When he drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount that is called Olivet, he sent two of the disciples, saying, “Go into the village in front of you, where on entering you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever yet sat. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this: ‘The Lord has need of it.’” So those who were sent went away and found it just as he had told them. And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?” And they said, “The Lord has need of it.” And they brought it to Jesus, and throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it. And as he rode along, they spread their cloaks on the road. As he was drawing near-already on the way down the Mount of Olives-the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.” Now to respond to your latest message. It is also written in the Bible - Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I came not of my own accord, but he sent me. Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word. You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.”

We should penalize car manufacturers for putting devices built inside the car,and require them to stop manufacturing built in tablets and a device thatll shut down your technology until your cars engine is shut off and stopped. People think that hands free and built in technology is safe, because why would they manufacture cars with these devices if they where dangerous? People are too trusting of car manufactures. Its NOT the device that matters its how it EFFECTS your brain when driving, hand free and Bluetooth is equal to that of hand held texting while driving..Its safer to drink and drive.

We´re going to talk about what we are supposed to talk about - flat earth, flying saucers, science, education, spirituality, manipulation of the electoral college, how the actor based reality was behind all the false flags, etc....we will know intuitively what to talk about and when, because that is what we are supposed to do. If the 4 YAllEnt is going to be part of that, then we will talk about it...

I don't own or use a cell phone never have, never will, I look at people using them constantly and I will never understand the obsession or who everyone is always talking to or texting. Letting these kids use all these devices is a big mistake and only gives parents an excuse not to have to pay attention to their kids as they themselves are too busy on their cell phones to care what the hell the kids are doing, what a shame...

when i have kids i'm seriously considering not giving them these devices until their mid teens or something...
But how much will they resent/hate me for it?
will i be handicapping them in an age that is going more and more digital and always online?
and would limiting their data usage and apps be enough?
will i be as up to date with modern tech/apps to effectively monitor their use for their health and safety?
i hope there will be a proper solution to this problem by the time i have kids...

Funny. My smartphone is usually somewhere in my car or my backpack - generally empty from me forgetting to plug it in. I hated mobile phones back in the early 90ies when they came up and that hasn't changed. There's nothing I really need the phone for except when I'm stuck in some ditch with a flat or when I'm out on a trail and something goes wrong. I much rather interact in person with people, so yeah, I might be the politically incorrect friend who shows up at the front door unannounced because I forgot to send a text that I'm coming over.
Quick fix: set your phone to mute. That's my setting. I will check when I feel like it and that may be days...

I agree but I’m not a fan of surprise company. I would say it’s just a generational difference but my grandmother is the same so It could just be the way I was raised.

I grew up when some people didn't even have a phone, much less would use it for something as trivial as saying you're coming over. So you'd just use the door bell for that. If someone opens, good. If the person opens and says "sorry have to time today" - good too (although that happened rarely). If nobody opened, just move on.
I know, these days you have to send a text before you ring the bell or knock or even pull up the driveway. It really is a generation thing.

Having grown up in a world without mobile phones (just "the phone" on a wall or counter) gives me a different perspective on this as well. But there are many people fitting that description (like the parents in the clip) who still got sucked straight into the vortex. Everybody needs to turn off their phones, read the first chapter of Thoreau's Walden ("Economy"), and reflect on what they really need. P.S. I blame the X-Files.

TheBookWorm1718 I disagree.. Facebook does bring people together socially and creates more friends.. on the international level! We learn about other cultures, and are exposed to other issues and subjects!
Yes, it can waste time and can be addictive! Using a time limit can be helpful!

I would have one, but the price of mobile data in Canada is far higher than what I consider reasonable. Canada's mobile data rates are like the highest in the world or something. That said if I did have one, I still don't see myself using it much, since I'm not a fan of most mobile games, nor most social media services.
While I don't have a mobile, I spend copious amounts of time on desktop PC instead, so it's not a world of difference.
