Best CGI zombie game trailer I've seen yet... The one for *Dead Island* was good in that it tugged my heart strings, *Dying Light* had cool music, and no one can forget *Left 4 Dead 1-2,* but this one just tops them all in my opinion.
Nick and Annie don't look much at all like they do in the game in terms of facial features, but that's forgivable. I personally like Nick the best out of the *DR* protagonists because his age and personality make him more relatable (though of course no one can match Frank's charisma and attitude).
Nick's almost like a gamer himself, someone who probably talks big about what he would do in a zombie apocalypse or general disaster and then craps himself when it actually happens. He starts off running for his life, as most of us would on the first day, and has to learn the ropes of surviving for real.
He's not thinking about his job or having fun anymore, he's fighting not to get eaten alive. Frank and Chuck were just so stereotypical in that they get used to the chaos almost immediately and rarely react with genuine emotion.
I know that's because Chuck survived an outbreak before when he lost his wife and Frank, as he loves to remind us, has "covered wars". But their lackluster emoting still just didn't keep me as invested. Nick is like Leon Kennedy from *Resident Evil 2,* especially in the police outfit. He's a young rookie on his first outbreak, we see his journey climbing the ladder to become a bada**.
Well frank used to shoot wars so he would be used to a life and death situation and chuck had participated in terror is reality by fighting zombies in a rink so that would explain why they are both used to being around zombies
I understand their backgrounds, but I still like that Nick reacts with more fear at the situation despite living in a world where zombies are already a well established threat. I can understand why Chuck, fighting the dead regularly to win Zombrex for Katey, would already be hardened towards such chaos. Frank being jaded to this simply because he's "covered wars" is a bit of a stretch, because I think most would agree that the dead rising and eating the living has very little in common with the wars we're familiar with. It's just poor character writing to me when a freelance photo journalist with little in-game back story stumbles into a mall full of walking corpses, and we're expected to assume right away that he's used to this kind of craziness. That's like having a marine fighting werewolves and treating it like a typical military operation. If Frank's career involved prior experience with zombies, THAT would make more sense. I know it's mainly an action horror comedy game, and the story isn't important, but I'm glad DR3 took a darker, more serious and well thought out direction with Nick.

analavenger13 I did mention that story was never an important part of Dead Rising, I just personally enjoyed that they put more thought into it with 3. As for video games in general, what's important depends on the genre, the person, and whatever the product's setting out to accomplish. Some games do prioritize backstory, which in my opinion only helps a good game when done right. Maybe not for all types, but at least ones where storylines are implemented. Also, what kind of freaky candy bars do they sell in your area?! 0_o

This game would make buying a Xbox one so worth it! I loved dead rising one and two but this is a new level of graphics and plot with a interesting main character.

I played this yesterday for the first time. The gameplay is brilliant and the zombies are so much more louder, vicious and stronger than the ones from dead rising 1+2, they become more aggressive at night too and do more damage and jog slightly after you. You can store weapons you make in safehouses you find which is pretty sick and helpful. The map is massive and there are hordes and hordes of zombies everywhere You can use attribute points you get when you level up to unlock combinations options for weapons, vehicles, health, running speed etc etc. The only thing I will say though, is that I found the graphics quite cartooney and I was kinda thinking is this the new xbox one graphics? Another thing I thought was silly in the game is that your character seems to have incredible throwing strength and you can throw objects that would be heavy stupidly far and I was like meh, not realistic but that's not important really. Overall though, an amazing game, there's loads more but I wont spoil it for you. Definitely get this game because it is amazing! Highly recommend!!

@@Shatanah True, but I always thought Nick's motivations were lacking. Frank is a journalist, always chasing that scoop, making sure the entire world learns the truth. Chuck's entire world revolves around protecting his daughter, and everything he does reflects that. Nick just seems like all he does is chase 'Annie', and not thinking of what he's doing.
That first part is hilarious, especially when the random zombie lady gets smacked by the car.

normally hated dead rising because of the crappy time limits but this one gives you enough time to enjoy killing zombies with unique combo weapons, i couldn't believe how fun this game was, its like they took everything that was wrong with the other 3 dead rising games and made this game into something you cant explain until you actually play it!!. 10/10
