The week-long Chinese New Year holiday in China takes place from 10-17Feb2024. I'd suggest that you avoid this entire week as well as the week preceding it (ie.5-9Feb) as people will be making trips back to their hometowns in the millions by trains and airplanes. In the entire 1 week of holiday, domestic tourists will be making trips across China and popular destinations will be thronged with people. Unless you relish to be stuck in a sea of humans everywhere you go or you want to immerse yourself in the CNY festivities, it'd be advisable to avoid those dates mentioned. Hence you may want to consider being there mid-late Jan 2024(check the weather first) or from late Feb onwards when the crowd is thinner and when most people are back at work. Spring time from Mar-May is the best time to visit for the first half of the year, as you have mentioned that's your plan. Otherwise next is Autumn. Hope it helps.

@@piacash5216 We'll I'll beg to differ. More Chinese have TH-cam accounts than most Southeast Asian nations. They set up these accounts from Taiwan and other places so it doesn't get blocked. A survey once showed that there are almost 350 million TH-cam users in China. And since their accounts are registered in Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia, they don't get blocked. Just like what Ken said, he had 'the most success' in China. Remember high viewership can sometimes bring higher revenue for channels than subscription alone. Don't just assume that TH-cam is all about subscriptions. Some low subscriber base channels have far higher revenue streams due to their high viewership, compared to high subscription based channels. TH-cam has different ways for you to generate income, so don't forget that!

Hello. I am a Chinese national, and I am glad to hear you enjoyed your trip to China. As you might have noticed now, german citizens are eligible for visa free to visit China for 15 days. As you know China is a huge country, you may need to make a few trips to cover part of the country. You have mentioned you will be going to Hong Kong as well, so you can enter China, spend 15 days visa free, then go to Hong Kong for a bit, then reenter China again for another 15 days. China doesn't seem to have restrictions on how many entries you do in my opinion. If the Chinese immigration officers ask you why you keep coming back to China, you can tell them you like to visit China and for such huge country, 15 days per visit isn't enough, that's why you keep coming back. I am sure they will let you in. We love foreign visitors with good intentions 😊❤ Safe travels. Welcome back to China.

If you come to China, please go to Chongqing, Chengdu, Wuhan, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Xi 'an, Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Shenyang, Harbin, Qingdao, Dalian and Taiwan Province, and there are many cities, each with a different history and cultural experience. Your Shanghai series is very good, but for China people, Shanghai is not a tourist city, and it is only a small side of China. if you are going to Main land of China again in the new year, I would like to suggest a trip along with The Yangtze River ----from Shanghai to Nanjing or Wuhan. You will see more about Chinese traditions than in Shanghai , which is one of the most modernized cities in China , and this also makes it does not represent a real China.. You may see something more interesting about China far away from Shanghai and Beijing these cities.😊😊 After all, good luck for 2024 Ken and I'm happy for your success in 2023.

Hi Ken, Merry Christmas! Hope to see you visiting Taiwan in 2024. Besides the cities and night markets, there are many scenic places in Taiwan such as the East Coast where the road is between the mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Hehuan Mountain: It snows during winter. Cherry Blossoms at Alishan etc... I can imagine you riding a scooter throughout Taiwan like how you did in Northern Thailand and the Philippines.
Perhaps you can move to the Philippines and make it your base and travel out to other Asian countries from there. It’s tough and tiring to be a nomad you’ll need to settle at some point in time and the Philippines looks like a good fit for you

So excited to see you do a trip to China. I hope you do the 2 month visa instead of the German visa free 15 day though. It's such a large country I feel like 15 days doesn't do it justice. As for a place to suggest, Myanmar could be interesting. They are allowing tourists in but you are restricted to certain areas. There isn't anything out there on this country. I think you should take the train from Beijing to Tibet, and vlog the experience. It's gotta be wild to ride in a pressurized train, and then breathe the thin air in Tibet. I'm not sure what you can do on that long train ride though.
Ken, you can make use the visa free to China for German from HK , where u can spend two weeks to explore Shenzen, Guangzhou , as well as other part of Guangdong province. High speed rail from HKg to Sz is around 20 mins and to Guangzhou is around 1 hrs . U can clear the China immigration within the HK high speed station.
GZ is a thousand year city and a over 20 million people mega city now , and SZ transform itself from a small village to a 22 millions people mega city in just 50 years , huge contradiction

I'm Filipino but unlike some of my fellow countrymen, I don't have this propagandish "us vs them" mindset they seem to have against China. Please visit China again Ken. I'd like to see more about what's going on in there. Your vlogs are true and free from western media influence. Which is why I trust it.
I would recommend Chongqing, China to settle down. First all the cost in China daily life is affordable. Second the country is totally safe. Third you would experience totally different life, which would definitely blow your mind. Fourth, the city is fantastic making you feel you are in the future.Fifth, you have plenty of chance to earn money. Happy new year
China by far b/c all Westerners visits, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore. There isn't as much videos about China. China is so modern, futuristic, clean, crime free, and so much positive things that the Western media never talks about. Continue travelling to China, it's a huge country with so much to see and do. I'm planning a trip in 2025.

Between Shanghai and Hong Kong, I think Shanghai is better in term of Cost of Living.....even though Hong Kong's vibes on one time had made me cried.......
Well, out of all three countries there is one country that has a visa that will allow that. In the Philippines you can extend up to three years, without leaving.. But of course you want to travel.. So the other countries could work too For Malaysia, also only 90 days. Of course you can inquire for a 3 month extension in Immigration in Malaysia, so 3+3 months could be possible. (Because I dont think you are able to go for MM2H visa for now, maybe some day...) For Thailand you can do half year visa, but have to leave every two months. But I am sure you did all the calculation yourself, how much for condo, how much for everything around the visa (travel for visa run, or extension costs) and the stress and time it consumes.
Go to visit south China in winter, like Sanya in Hainan island. Or really the north, like Herbin, Heilongjiang privince where there will be huge and wonderful ice park there with ice buildings and ice scalpture.. but prepare 20-30 below zero. Spring and autumn is the best season travelling in China, too hot in summer every where east coast. Well, toooooo many places to visit in China.

if you are going to Main land of China again in the new year, I would like to suggest a trip along with The Yangtze River ----from Shanghai to Nanjing or Wuhan. You will see more about Chinese traditions than in Shanghai , which is one of the most modernized cities in China , and this also makes it does not represent a real China.. You may see something more interesting about China far away from Shanghai and Beijing these cities.😊😊

Besides the cities and night markets, there are many scenic places in Taiwan such as the East Coast where the road is between the mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Hehuan Mountain: It snows during winter. Cherry Blossoms at Alishan etc... I can imagine you riding a scooter throughout Taiwan like how you did in Northern Thailand and the Philippines.

Perhaps you can move to the Philippines and make it your base and travel out to other Asian countries from there. It’s tough and tiring to be a nomad you’ll need to settle at some point in time and the Philippines looks like a good fit for you

So excited to see you do a trip to China. I hope you do the 2 month visa instead of the German visa free 15 day though. It's such a large country I feel like 15 days doesn't do it justice. As for a place to suggest, Myanmar could be interesting. They are allowing tourists in but you are restricted to certain areas. There isn't anything out there on this country.

I think you should take the train from Beijing to Tibet, and vlog the experience. It's gotta be wild to ride in a pressurized train, and then breathe the thin air in Tibet. I'm not sure what you can do on that long train ride though.

Ken, you can make use the visa free to China for German from HK , where u can spend two weeks to explore Shenzen, Guangzhou , as well as other part of Guangdong province. High speed rail from HKg to Sz is around 20 mins and to Guangzhou is around 1 hrs . U can clear the China immigration within the HK high speed station.
GZ is a thousand year city and a over 20 million people mega city now , and SZ transform itself from a small village to a 22 millions people mega city in just 50 years , huge contradiction

Ken, you should settle in China. That will be fun to explore the country and other part of the world.
My advice is for you to stay albeit temporarily, in a place where public transport is convenient if you don’t intend to get your own vehicle.
I'm Filipino but unlike some of my fellow countrymen, I don't have this propagandish "us vs them" mindset they seem to have against China. Please visit China again Ken. I'd like to see more about what's going on in there. Your vlogs are true and free from western media influence. Which is why I trust it.

I would recommend Chongqing, China to settle down. First all the cost in China daily life is affordable. Second the country is totally safe. Third you would experience totally different life, which would definitely blow your mind. China by far b/c all Westerners visits, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore. There isn't as much videos about China. China is so modern, futuristic, clean, crime free, and so much positive things that the Western media never talks about. Continue travelling to China, it's a huge country with so much to see and do. I'm planning a trip in 2025.

Between Shanghai and Hong Kong, I think Shanghai is better in term of Cost of Living.....even though Hong Kong's vibes on one time had made me cried.......

Well, out of all three countries there is one country that has a visa that will allow that. In the Philippines you can extend up to three years, without leaving.. But of course you want to travel.. So the other countries could work too
For Malaysia, also only 90 days. Of course you can inquire for a 3 month extension in Immigration in Malaysia, so 3+3 months could be possible. (Because I dont think you are able to go for MM2H visa for now, maybe some day...)
For Thailand you can do half year visa, but have to leave every two months.
But I am sure you did all the calculation yourself, how much for condo, how much for everything around the visa (travel for visa run, or extension costs) and the stress and time it consumes.
Go to visit south China in winter, like Sanya in Hainan island. Or really the north, like Herbin, Heilongjiang privince where there will be huge and wonderful ice park there with ice buildings and ice scalpture.. but prepare 20-30 below zero. Spring and autumn is the best season travelling in China, too hot in summer every where east coast. Well, toooooo many places to visit in China.
