@@oc1137 well classically its played on a clarinet, with the goal of it resembling a bumblebee. At the time of the composition the theremin and digital processing (she is using a tremolo pedal or plugin) were nonexistent and the clarinet is the closest instrument beeign capable of producing a high tempo and a fitting sound. There are some really good clarinet performances where the performer manages to capture the right "feel".

It's meant to sound like a bee, and everyone on stage seems to be afraid of something small and invisible flying around the stage and trying to catch it. It totally makes a familiar scene of people trying to catch a little insect

Yeah, it was one thing to play this piece on whatever instrument this is (seems difficult), but to incorporate an old school magic trick for aesthetic into the performance was just a great touch!

This is definitely the last cover I ever would have expected on this instrument. Not only that, but there was a lot of really cool eye and ear candy going on with it. Between the tremelo pedal, the really inventive light effects, and a keen ear for the tune itself, this was amazing to watch!

I have never heard a theremin sound like this! I am so confused! How is she getting that clear diction between every note? Is she just like...vibrating her hand so fast I can't see it? Lmaoo well it's cool!
She probably recorded the audio first and then did the video because I remember she did a colab with another youtuber once and she told him that even a slight change in the environment can cause change in the sound of the theremin so, it wouldn't be possible to play like that with a moving camera.
If you're going to play Flight of the Bumblebee on an instrument practically no one else can manage to play mary had a little lamb on then you might as well go full throttle with the lighting.
I know nothing about the theremin, I've just watched many thereminists play. I'm curious how you made this tremolo sound. Did you edited it after on computer? Or did you made your instrument "autotune" at 100% so you didn't need to do finger positions and just move your left hand closer or away from the antenna? I've tried a theremini once, and it had this "autotune" feature so with a little bit of concentration I could play a simple tune after an hour. But it sounded very unnatural and crappy with autotune. So how did u play this? ^_^

Pretty sure the tremolo was an effect added to the sound electronically. This is definitely not autotuned, though. Super impressive.

Theremins usually have a continuous sound, so I'm curious as to what effect was used to achieve the 'discreteness' of the notes. Tremolo?
