Thanks for that very useful video . Think it may have been possible to remove the inner race by securing the hub into the loose wheel by the 5 studs as an alternative to holding it in the vice

Hi Tony, yes it looks like l struggled to grip the hub in the vice and dropping hub into the wheel would make it a lot easier, also l made and replaced the jaws in my big bench vice from soft mild steel as l use it mainly for my motorcycle stuff where l don’t want to mark the material l am gripping. I don’t edit any of my videos so all my mistakes and cockups are in there. Hopefully someone who is doing the wheel bearing job will read the comments and find your comment very useful. Regards Brian

Hi Tony, not sure about the rears, the fronts you can as l have new ones this year, just the calliper and disc to be removed. If you go onto the Freelander 2 group on Facebook someone will let you know for sure.

He done the job with basic home made tools credit to him but OMG, hitting tools with hammer, his foot were, pulling the bearing in with the inner race on dear hitting the bearing with hammer pulling it in crooked will damage the hub, you can purchase a bearing remover and installer kit for £40 he should purchase one as he will need to change the agine soon

He could have pushed it in with the large plate he used with the slide hammer. No need to buy.

spot the cock up he is pressing the bearing in on the centre of the ballrace which will put flat sports on the bearing so he will be doing this bearing again . he should of pressed the bearing in on the outer bearing casing

Hi I have the North American LR2 2011 model I’m going to do the rear wheel bearing but it’s not electronic e brake will that make much of a difference ?

      @@tristenbryson8805 Hi Tristan,
On your 2011 there are brake shoes on the inside of the rotor discs, you will probably have to remove the shoes. Once the shoes are out of the way the the procedure is the same. Have a search on TH-cam on replacing the handbrake shoes on the Freelander 2 so you know what to expect.
      Regards, Brian.
