@@Hamza_Mansoor Don't get me wrong; they can be. However, too often, the presentation of alternative choices is conflated with the idea that history is the luck of the draw.
@@sneedfried The idea of individuals accounting for every minor deviation is impractical. Human perception and decision-making are limited by cognitive constraints and bounded rationality. Even in meticulously trained athletes, subtle environmental or psychological factors can sway a result. For instance, a sudden gust of wind, an imperceptible shift in footing, or momentary lapse in focus can influence a decisive play. These micro-events often appear as “luck” because they operate beyond conscious control or prediction. While it's true that luck plays a role in individual moments, over time, the effects of chance tend to even out, revealing underlying patterns and skill consistency. This phenomenon aligns with the law of large numbers, which states that as the number of trials increases, the average result approaches the expected value. Thus, while chance can dictate singular events, consistent performance over many occurrences typically highlights true skill and strategy. Determining which moments align with an overarching pattern and which are anomalies influenced by luck or error can be challenging. The best way to judge such seemingly close moments in sporting history is to compare them with the REST of the data. Only with more data, can we be MORE sure, that it is truly indicative of skill. But even then, we cannot be certain that any isolated event has not been disproportionately swayed by an unpredictable subtle disruption.
so about that... dunno why but currently I can't reply on it. It's currently at 585 and I'm not seeing any more replies. Which is weird since that is still less than 700.
I think he is actually right. It's basically the survivorship bias. Because, we are watching a video where something impressive happened, therefore, to say, imagine it didn't went the way it did, that would require your inability to say something like that in the first place. So it really is not a very sensible observation of SevenSonix. Now, if we are talking about the tone in which he said it, yeah, that was unnecessary and I imagine he interpreted Sevensonix' comment as applauding to Parker, which inefekt for some reason, found really irritating.

@@kurothegod If I stumble upon a stupid-ass comment by coincidence, Imma laugh at it, I don't look at the date. he’s wrong but I support him entirely
This is the exact reason I turned off notifs for comment replies, it literally unshackles you from so much unneccessary fighting
I mean, people keep picking on him after all this time. You want him to just take the hits for free? If anything, it’s just distasteful for people to keep trashing on the guy and call him out for defending himself.
Yes, its pretty easy to do
As someone who makes alternate history videos, it's people like this that truly kill the vibe 💀

That aside, I remember someone else covered this. For that guy to be arguing for that long, they’re absolutely dedicated in their arguments
I covered it two years ago haha
@@DeepHumor Ah that explains it haha. Cool you covered it again. I can only imagine how much has changed in that dude’s life outside of the argument entertainment of that comment thread. @@sneedfried sometimes "what if...?" scenarios are fun to ponder about
@@Hamza_Mansoor Don't get me wrong; they can be.
@@sneedfried luck and coincidence are huge factors throughout history though, unless you believe that everything's already been written

so about that... dunno why but currently I can't reply on it. It's currently at 585 and I'm not seeing any more replies. Which is weird since that is still less than 700.
@@kamaradevile9978 Weird...
@@kamaradevile9978 I think youtube still thinks inefekts replies are there
why is the reply limit 500 and not a number more logical like 32767 or 65535
The cap was raised about a year ago from 500 to 700, likely in response to how close this comment thread was getting.
9 years is crazy long... people go through so many relationships, so many events... they change and grow... but not the people in this thread!

@@EpicTaxEvader is it really necessary to ask for examples of someone’s personal experiences? I mean nothing wrong with it but it’s like saying you remember the painful times of stubbing your toe and somebody asks “can you give some examples?”
@@EpicTaxEvader anyways, a good example would be literally last night when somebody said something a little annoying to me, I replied back with some brief snark, admittedly a little hostile, and so for over a half-day, my replies have been stuck at 2 likes while the other dude’s likes are at 17 and getting higher. Now, to give myself at least some credit, I immediately owned up to it and we were chill, as well as one dude who acknowledged that I owned up to it, but I’m still getting ratioed hard, even on my original reply which was before anything argumentative happened.
