Yeah, man. How do you make your intros the way that you have them being set to the music, because I am trying my hardest to do the same thing to my intros with no such luck
Those pipe looking things on those flat cars are actually all the different tank car lid covers that go on all the tank cars. Gives the first responders a chance to see what they look like and how to deal with them. Stay safe!
Awesome rolling shot of the #5642 in great light. As a retired firefighter I possibly recognize the the flat car 'freight' as different types of domes from tankers. The cables support a shade screen for training exercises in safe environment.
That Was SOOOOOO Kool when the Engineer Notched The Engine in 8 HOT DAMN She Sure Sounded Good taken off!!! Nothing in The World Sounds Good Like a EMD ENGINE
Great video Rowan, my good friend Joe Morris had the 911 First Responders engine this week running from the Wilmington, De yard south to Clayton, De to the Interchange. Had the opportunity this week to witness it up close and what a sight to see! Thanks for sharing your videos and I'm viewing them from the 1st state of DELAWARE!
As someone who has their class 6 and class 8 I recently started watching you and it amazes me how much I’m sorry if this offends you but foamers know about the rail way
The tanks in the frame are international regulated shipping containers, we get them on site. The Other flat cars look like training for hatch closures for tank cars we get hoppers & 111 tank cars On site also. Sometimes I even get to see change out of cars by CSX on site! Great videos thank you for the education regarding train protocols and communication.
Love the video, I saw you set up at the crossing on Elk Run the other day. If I had time that day I would have tried to stop and see what you were doing.
We actually got to see that train in person it was in Tuscaloosa Alabama at the amtrak train station We even got a closer look at the train and the conest
Being a first responder for more than 25 years, it’s nice to see companies truly have safety for us in mind! I have one son in Russell KY (Raceland) on the Dept with me. I also have one in Horry County Myrtle beach SC fire & Rescue. I sent him this video also. Good job on finding and filming this. Quick question, does any manufacturer make the total train yet? Thx again and be safe!
I assume you mean the model train when you talk about manufacturer and I don't know a Google search might help you better than me actually!! Thanks for the view!
i believe it is a intermodal container for moving solvents. we get them on site for dupont tedlar films for the processing chemicals for the film. at times by rail or truck. some come from overseas via IMDG containers then trucked to site in buffalo, ny. great job chasing the trains! and always being safe! God bless and be safe out there.
Awesome catch Rowan I am still waiting to see it and you got to see it up close that is so cool I bet the engineer and conductor in 214 where happy to see the heritage unit
No Hazmat, the train is used to train first responders what they need to know about tank cars, the different hatches and the smaller tanks with everything from dangerous chemicals to radioactive cargo.
WOW ! NS really takes training to the extreme, I wonder how I could find out when NS 5642 will go pass the Holmesburg Jct. interlocking in NE Philadelphia
I'm guessing the cables you saw are for a collapsible cover (stored on the tanker end of the flat car) for working in the weather. Be it rain or intense sunlight.
Saw this consist on July 4th weekend back in 2017 in South Bend, IN. NS had the train hidden away in South Bend instead of keeping it in Elkhart yard. Was still able to get late afternoon photos of it. Both Athearn and Atlas make this GP38 in ho scale and Atlas in n scale as well. MTH make this in o scale, both 2 rail and 3 rail versions. I have the 2 rail version of 5642. Atlas Lionel, and MTH make the cars that go with the 5642, but Atlas are the most accurate and best looking in o scale. I have several of the cars in 2 rail and hope Atlas does all the cars.
Hey Rowan! Great video and an amazing catch. That was so cool. Kathy Simon pointed me to your page. I've liked and subscribed. My son and I railfan in London, Ontario, Canada; and he posts his videos too. I hope that you have some spare time to check out his videos too. We catch lots of freight (CN and CP) and VIA Rail trains as well. Keep up the great work on your channel, Rowan. Your videos are great!
Awesome video That train is so awesome as a Australian i love the idea and concept of it and would love a model of it for my layout Awesome meeting another raifan :)
My uncle is a first responder as a fire fighter and thank you so much for posting this up and you rock, Rowan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, man. How do you make your intros the way that you have them being set to the music, because I am trying my hardest to do the same thing to my intros with no such luck
Cool 😎
I am a 40yr career firefighter and 1st time I ever seen this train pretty awesome
😎 Cool 😎

Glad I found this! As a Firefighter I "trained" on this unit 🚂
Very cool!
I caught 914 and 13R with the Reading unit in Orange VA yesterday!!
I bet the crew of Norfolk Southern hertug unit give you a horn show and a wave
Great catch, Bro. Loved the sound of those 38s notching up.
Was a wild chase. Glad I helped you get this!
That Was SOOOOOO Kool when the Engineer Notched The Engine in 8 HOT DAMN She Sure Sounded Good taken off!!! Nothing in The World Sounds Good Like a EMD ENGINE
Totally agree, that engineer is a total badass!
@@RailfanRowan Thank You for Replying appreciate it
Is B a bad
@@NSandBNSFrailfanProductions probably is if you say it in front of your family
@@RailfanRowan I believe it happened on the same day as the amtrak 50th anniversary locomotive
Awesome! Ns 1071(?) CNJ unit was sitting in a yard for 3 days (by coincidence) during a railroad event. You could walk all around it. It was amazing.
Are you talking about the new jersey central heritage unit
6:28 was my favorite part
Awesome Video! The NS Training First Responders Unit may have spotted in Salisbury, NC.
Terrific video and catch. Thanks Rowan.

Thanks Richard!!
I have talked to a NS engineer before. He was on a mixed freight, in port deposit. Another train came by with a DODX caboose.
Pretty cool, huh?
Did you ask the Norfolk southern train engineer s name
As someone who has their class 6 and class 8 I recently started watching you and it amazes me how much I’m sorry if this offends you but foamers know about the rail way
It amazes me how you compare a young railfan who posted this in 2018, to a classified hazmat cert holder. I'm actually certified now.
My grandpa was EMS and fire, so this is definitely something I want him to see. Nice video, love your channel
Two years ago, I caught the OAR train at Van Dorn Terminal at Alexandria. Good times..
Fantastic Catch! I caught the engine just east of North Kansas City, Missouri several years ago but not that specific train! I'm jealous!
I remember seeing that train. I was the happiest and luckiest railfan ever
Cool that Nick didn't mind a little foaming. Great catch once again.
Good vid Rowan! Liked as always
I will give this video a 10 out of 10 good work. keep up the awesome work Railfan Rowan******************!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You get the best videos and provide solid info without talking too much. God bless
5:37 What a real friendly engineer👍🏻
What a lucky guy to drive that.! He showed some power when he left to. Nice catch Rowan.
Yeah notch 8'd that heffer
That is a awesome train love your t-shirt
4:55 That Bell Is So Satisfying, Awsome Video Rowan, As Always!!
Pretty awesome!!
@@RailfanRowan Absolutely Man!!
The flat has tank car lids in it for demonstrations & there’s a curtain that goes from each container, that’s what the wires are for.
Nice catch I saw the CSX safety train back in May
*Man, that paint scheme is incredible.* Everything contrasts really well!
I agree!! Isn't that a cool train?
Like your t-shirt train
I’ve seen the same kind of operation awareness tank cars on a CSX train!

That color scheme is NICE!
That's one of the reasons that I love this train

Awesome catch!! That train pulled out quickly.
Nice Job Rowan I had that many times in my area in Pennsylvania
Railfan Rowan Your Welcome Bro
I've just subscribed. You have by far one of the best railfan channels out there. Great commentary, nicely edited, awesome footage!
EPIC CATCH MAN. Have seen it myself

6:08 who’s that?
Awesome video Rowan! Thanks for repping the first responders!
It also met a westbound manfast train with two kanas city southern engines one leading and one as a dpu
CSX just released a Spirit of first Responders and Spirit of the army engines. Terrific catches/meet!
Awesome rowan from a csx railfan here
Hi RAiLFAN Rowan I am huge fan of CSX and NS trains umm I will subscribe to your videos it’s so awesome

That was an awesome video. worth watching again!!!!*****
the first box car and tanker has hazmat markers posted ........... that means that the cars are fill with hazmat
Conventional wisdom would say that you're right. But I suppose they cleared them
No Hazmat, the train is used to train first responders what they need to know about tank cars, the different hatches and the smaller tanks with everything from dangerous chemicals to radioactive cargo.
He flew out from that stop at the end haha
WOW ! NS really takes training to the extreme, I wonder how I could find out when NS 5642 will go pass the Holmesburg Jct. interlocking in NE Philadelphia
I saw the honoring first responders in Marion Ohio crossing the diamonds
Completely outstanding video!
it came thought martins burg WV yesterday
yea but it went by to quick before i got my camera out
but if you look on my channel you can see Kansas city southern in martins burg at signal master
NICE YOU ARE A GREAT GUY ROWAN
Hey man. I think the smaller tank on the flat car is for liquid natural gas. I saw tanks like that on tender cars in Florida on the. FEC railroad
I'm guessing the cables you saw are for a collapsible cover (stored on the tanker end of the flat car) for working in the weather. Be it rain or intense sunlight.
The train horn is the Nathan Airchime K5LA.
nothing like hearing an old EMD roar
I didn't notice at first but I have that same shirt! Great video!
Another awesome video Rowan interesting train
They just hit a truck in Martinsville VA!!!

Another great video. Thank you , Rowan.
Yay NS 9851 I've seen it go long hood two times! But on different days
Awesome catch!
wow he got it moving quickly
That’s a good color on the engine and the cars
The NS line where I live only serves locals, so I gotta go to Amsterdam for the real action
Yeah you are a nice man I love you and your voice
WOW!!! WHAT A CATCH !!! AWESOME !!
that engineer i think is the same dude that was on the double heritage chase with the hornshow!
I wish we can get in the cab of Norfork southern 5642
Buen video rowan saludos desde argentina y feliz primavera
You can get the Lionel toy train!its really good!
Awesome train. My family is full of first responders.
Tell them thank you for me, please!
@@RailfanRowan Will do bro.
Those “black things”, on the flatcars are container tanks. They’re a standard 20 ft container length.
That's right!
Awesome video, saw this engine today here in Knoxville TN
Always a treat
I'm guessing you live near the Norfolk southern railroad
@@jacobdubielak2699 indeed I do.

love your vids i watcht all of them
Nice video. BTW, you messed up the unit # in the description. It is 5642 not 5624 lol.
I love this train
It sounds like a real jeep when going up that notch!
Hecc yeah that guy knows how to run!
