He did have some good stuff mixed in though like Fiendish Chain and Battle Fader, although the Arc-V Jack definitely did have the better deck.

@@godsman00 Yeah, Arc-V Jack had the most consistent deck. Manga Jack did play the Hot RDA line but Abyss didn't have the negate effect.
7:12 funnily enough, the only time Aster used Terraforming was for the cost effect of Magical Stone Excavation that he had sent to the graveyard during his previous turn off of Diamond Dude's effect. Aster never actually used Terraforming to search Clock Tower Prison in the anime
Well, it was still in his deck and he must have used it sometimes (offscreen maybe)
I like how he still paid the cost even though he didnt have to with diamond dude.

Ojama ABC was a thing. It's true that chazz didn't use ABC, but he used the precursor VWXYZ and the relevant ojama support
If you count manga, he used Light and Darkness Dragon as well as Light End Dragon and Dark End Dragon. (which for some reason were turned into synchros)

There was that deck he used in North Academy that had Giant Rat, Ring of Destruction, and Return From the Different Dimension. His Armed Dragon deck also had Masked Dragon and Call of The Haunted.
There's also D-Hero Dogma which was used in a Magical Explosion FTK variant.

I love Aster. He's super skilled as a duelist, I love his archetype, and his trashtalk in the dub was incredibly obnoxious, in a good way.
His taunt lines in duel links were nerfed to oblivion it doesn't feel like you're playing as Aster.
Please do Alexis Rhodes next! She has some really good Ritual cards and Cyber Angels were somewhat good in 2016/2017 (whatever year their long-needed support dropped.)
And now see play in Drytron and is probably getting Benten banned/errata'd.

I enjoyed this video. I actively play Destiny Heroes in my local shop tournaments and Aster is one of my more favorite 'rivals' of the YuGiOh franchise.
Doom lord was also used during Teledad for Crush Card specifically. It would save malicious and still had handy removal before tributing off. Searchable and D-Draw material, worth running 1 after Disk was banned. Good video!
I don't get the re-upload, but there's one thing I should mention about Magical Stone Excavation. It's not a Aster Phoenix exclusive card. It was first used by Yami Marik in the dueling monsters anime. It had a different name back than, but the effect was the same. It wasn't used again till Aster Phoenix came in during the GX anime.

There was a guy in GX who had a tennis themed deck that I’m mostly sure is not real in the TCG. Take a took at his cards because I remember them being completely busted.
I play pure d heros just for fun and there are so many ways to get out powerful monsters and good combos.
I play it competitive and yeah it’s SUPER fun especially with Dark Law lol

You forgot to mention Plasma's effect of equipping a monster to that card. Also forgot to mention his Clock Tower Prison field spell and the monster that that summoned, Destiny Hero - Dreadmaster..
You're right about Diamond Dude in the anime originally requiring the cost to be paid. This was true for Season 2 at least. By Season 3, however, it started working like the TCG where he would use Destiny Draw without needing to discard a D-HERO.
Talk about the cards that Yubel used, both on their own and when with Jaden. Yubel didnt use many cards but some of them were banned for being too cheesy which is interesting
I love aster and his destiny heroes, hopefully he gets more support like jaiden and kaiba does! Dystopia is a very good monster
How long has it even been since they made new destiny hero support? Like, two years? And it took forever for them to release his vision heroes from the manga into the tcg, too, and they still only have two fusions. And duel links is dragging their feet again now, too. It's so unfair how they play favorites with some characters over others.
@@raina1848 exactly bro, destiny heroes were so good when they first showed up, aster was one of the few to give jaiden a hard time, he beat Zane truesdale(made him had doubts about himself) he almost beat sartorius, but the plot didn't allow it, it was suppose to he jaiden! A characterike that is suppose to get constant support for his archetype!
@@kitakizeinko8780 And then they made it so that just about anybody could defeat him, leading up to the disaster that was Arc-V. It was a disgrace. Aster should have been more of a rival and explored more as a character. He is such an interesting and underrated character.
I remember running beginning of the end as a fun option for a draw 3 with ddude. Soul charge was even nuttier with his effect, though at that point he was already a bit slow.

This video made me remember that feeling of discarding your Malicious for destiny draw and drawing into your other copy of malicious.
Happened to me too many times.
Aster’s initial use of the original heroes always struck me as odd.
-First he used the same cards as Jaden, but he could branch them off into different fusion monsters, which could have been used as a way to mark the duality between the characters.
-I guess they figured that difference wasn’t enough because he phased them out for the destiny heroes, which are dark attribute but not completely evil to further highlight the difference.
-Jaden then got Neos and the Neo Spacians, using his heroes far less frequently and almost never having another win just using them.
-Then the evil hero fusions came out when Jaden was the supreme king, and they circled back to the whole idea of darker counterparts using the same fusion materials.
And this all STILL doesn’t encompass the number of cards or sub-archetypes in the actual game that count as “Hero” monsters
There's seven sub-archetypes. Elemental HERO. Destiny HERO. Evil HERO. Vision HERO. Masked HERO. Contrast HERO. Xtra HERO.
Some of those came from the manga like the masked heroes
Old school GX fan here, too. That was the last thing, I watched though, they never broadcast that many episodes here after the Sartorius arc, until I stopped watching.
Fun story.
I was on Percy (I think. It was one of those) and i was playing an anime D hero deck for fun. I matched with a guy who was playing some meta deck at the time, i think pendulum magicians, and I kicked his ass hard. I managed to get plasma on the field, and his response to me locking him down was, and i quote-
"Anime weeb deck. You are so cheap." followed by a rage quit.
Thats my best memory of the D heros ever, and i love them because of it. Because i pulled off an anime moment so hard against the meta, it caused a guys head to explode.

You wouldn't need to discard as it's the cost for Tribute to the Doomed. But there are plenty of other cards you'd use over that.
I actually run a set of lightning vortex in my D-Hero deck. It can work with or without the effect of diamond dude
@@edsonvelasquez4067 It was decent tech back in the day. Now, Lightning Vortex is kinda overshadowed with Dark Hole at 3 and Raigeki legal at 1.
I'd argue that ojama Delta hurricane is one of the best hiya for diamond dude. I think that's the name of the card. Full board wipe

Can you perhaps tell us a bit more about Diamond Dude turbo? I remember, I got that card´s effect so wrong until I played one of the video games for the DS (I think it was World Championship 2005 or 2006. Probably 2005.). I would figure, not having to pay the cost for a spell activation can be a huge benefit even in today´s format, right? However I do think, that they should actually specify that on the card text (the fact that you really don´t have to pay the cost. I mean, how often else does that even ever happen? It´s so confusing...). Plus, you also specified, you did not have to pay the activation cost in the TCG. Does this mean, in the OCG you had to? I don´t know. I´m confused. I thought, the OCG was only the original Japanese version of the game, where cards were released in different orders. But does it have completely different rules, too? I´m so confused... lol pls help
What about Celestial? Plasma is dope in duel links. It's won me so many duels. Aster's has the best ace monster out of all the GX characters in the game.

I'd like to "nominate" Yuma Tsukumo as the next character, whose cards should be discussed, in relation to competive Yugioh, in a future video. Utopia was his ace, and that's only the beginning. There's also Caligo Claw Crow.

Yeah the sub is better but it doesnt have the gems such as the Chazz it up or the Shmaiden Schmuki lines

Wait you don't have to play the affect where does it say that
Diamond Dude copies the card’s effect as his own. Activation costs and conditions on spells are used to activate the card itself. If you’re using Diamond Dude to copy the effect, you’re not activating the actual spell card, so none of those costs or conditions need to be met.
