If anyone has the problem of having video feed but no OSD then what might be the problem is this: You may need to go into the OSD tab of betaflight and set the format as auto. It is probably on NTSC or PAL and sometimes one or the other will cause some cameras to not allow OSD overlay. Just put it on auto and let it choose, then most likely it will work! I had this problem and someone said to do that and it worked so i just wanted to share this advise to anyone that needs it. :)
So much better to fly after I fly lots of digital quads with the air or cadd units and I did the last flight on this vid straight after flying digital and was amazed at how good it was
The runcam nano 2 is actually a decent sunny day camera. It turns out though that it's very temperamental about the components running it and then the goggles receiving everything as well. It seems to be due to the oversaturation the sensor pulls in. Conditions have to be met perfectly to get a good picture out of it and if you want a night time camera, definitely swap it out for something else with the different lux rating. At the end of the day the baby ratel2 seems to be better in just about every way from the research I've done. I'm not sure if the latency is higher on the baby ratel2 or not at around 20 milliseconds. Does anyone know if the latency on The run cam nano 2 is less? Either way 20 milliseconds is plenty adequate for freestyle, maybe not so much for racing though. I'm currently in the process of installing the baby ratel 2 in my GEPRC Phantom and moving the stock caddx ant that comes with it, over into my TH Freestyle2 because even the caddx ant is better than the nano 2 for the type of flying I prefer.
The runcam is a good camera there are just things I wasn't happy with in the colours. The latency are about the same. I do like the baby ratel 2 except the globe look and the annoying plug on thr back. In my latest vid I used the foxeer toothless 2 nano I really liked that camera a lot even though the sensor is a fraction smaller than the baby it performed fantastic nothing like the globe effect and no annoying plug stopping articulation of thr camera angle
Instead of building the new cable with the right video/pwr/gnd order at both ends, you mention the alternative is to just cut the two cables and solder them together to create one with the right ends that work on the caddx and TH2 FC. Is there a reason why you did not do that (other that the state it leaves the Runcam Nano 2 in)? Any video quality loss with the cut/solder method? Thanks!

I want to do this after I get my tiny hawk II freestyle. Is there pre made wires to buy so I don't have to solder anything? If so please tell me everything ill need to swap to the baby ratel 2 without soldering, thanks

Just adding that I had the same problem after adding this camera and setting the format to auto in the OSD tab fixed my issue.
Oh nice. I just ordered a runcam nano 4 to replace the stock tinyhawk 2 freestyle camera. Hopefully process of replacing it isn't too difficult, aha

I've been meaning to do this for a while, I use a ratel 2 on my nazgul and I much prefer the look on it compared to my tiny hawk freestyle
