It comes across that the movie was doomed to begin with because of fox's budget restrictions I personally would of preferred a film in the same era as the games and the aliens film with the marines predators and aliens instead of the modern setting they chose
Budget still doesn't excuse them for the insanely poor lighting. Not a single DVD or Blu-Ray release of AVPR has corrected lighting. The best you can do is max the brightness and contrast and ignore the blinding light during any daytime scenes.
Yeay, biggest faults were setting in modern era with more civilian type characters and off balance of violence. Too little in the first, too much in the wrong settings (that predalien doing to the women and in the nursery room just standing there geese).
Apparently..... When the face huggers deliver the good knews they tap into the host nervous system, inheriting random traits....... who knew?? Ok I lied, cool concept if I do say so myself.
I'm glad they cut the collection of Aliens and Predators to be completely honest. It really would be a mistake to include it as it would've raised so many questions like "if Wolf's a cleaner/investigator, how come nobody is investigating the mass amount of missing Predators ". Alarms go off the minute a ship loses contact but nobody noticed that maybe a dozen of their guys have gone missing? In Concrete Jungle released two years prior it establishes helmet camera feeds. You'd think one of them would notice.
Like you said mr H i think this film is a victim of its own budget. Some ideas which were a bit naff but on the whole that film that yoy just described sounds ace. Alot of wow factor in it. Anyway happy new year good sir.
I fucking love the AVP series! It was quite popular in Puerto Rico, and this one, not as good story wise then the first but man it had its moments. The kid getting the face hugger and Predalien was cool. I just wish they'd spent some money on Lighting because it's horrible, even at full brightness on my TV it's still too dark. But man I wish these series keep going and being and joined cinematic universe.
Requiem is the closest we will likely get to Aliens:Earth War...that saddens me as I try to find the best out of the film...if I could actually see what was happening in between the various shades of black/darkness...
I'm one of the few people who actually enjoyed this movie but apart from the after credits scenes, I don't think the rest would've added anything especially the skinned predators scene since the Predalien was essentially an xenomorph just with queen-like abilities.
The skinned Predators make little sense to me. Xenomorphs are not that intelligent that they would skin and hang their victims. I also doubt that Predators skinning and hanging victims is something they just do on instinct. Hunting, skinning etc would be something taught as part of their culture.
AVP2 had the right idea, it was just poorly executed. I actually really like the Wolf Predator, but the aliens looked too rubbery and the Predalien looked completely like a dude in a suit. I've seen other concept art for it and for the love of god WHY didn't they go with those designs??? Also maybe with some ACTUAL character development I might have actually given a crap when the blonde chick gets cut in half...
Oh my........some of these scenes just would've made AvP R so much better!!!! Especially killing off the survivors (seriously, who even cared about them?) And the secret facility with alien and predators in stasis being studied. Even if that's technically retconing the original movies, but it would've made an awesome scene. Thank you for bringing this news Mr. H.
Hmm honestly you make good points, here hoping Disney will give us a big, big, budget reboot sequel combo to the AVP Movieverse. honestly, i would love to see an AEVP Alien and Engineers vs Predator movie.
@@evillynn4166 yeah that is a technical problem there. But other than that, it is a truly fun movie to me as a huge predator fan. I didn't mind the human cast. I like the fact that they were basically cannonfodder. You get to see the predator doing his thing and that's we all want to see. I also loved the fact that nobody really is a protagonist in this film. Anybody could die at any moment. Wolf and Dallas are maybe the closest things to main figure in this.
Interesting. :) What are my thoughts on these deleted scenes? (1) I believe the scene with Yautja loading the Facehugger vials onto the scout ship was more or less in the final film, at least in the unrated version (I've never watched the shortened version of the film), and I think that scene in the final film was no more and no less than what we needed to establish where the Facehuggers onboard the ship came from. (2) While the Predalien getting killed early could've maybe worked depending on how they did it, I definitely prefer the final film's version where the Predalien gets plenty of screentime, because it's the first time the Predalien's appearing in the films and it's too fascinating a concept to the AvP franchise to just regulate to a cheap, brief cameo. (3) I think the town meeting scene could've been left in, but the movie does fine without it; with the added benefit that with the town hall scene deleted, it doesn't make all the townsfolk look like dumbasses whom the slasher viewer wants to watch die (what with the townsfolk being stupid enough to accuse Dallas, implied by the film to be guilty of a crime no more severe than assault or armed robbery, of somehow being linked to Buddy and his kid's disappearance) - plus that scene isn't really relevant to the film's story. (4) While I lament the skinned Yautja being cut, I think in a way it's better; because the Predalien is technically a Xenomorph which has assimilated characteristics from a Yautja rather than human host instead of being a true species-hybrid, so the skinned Yautja might've been giving the Predalien a bit too many Yautja characteristics. (5) I lament that we didn't get to see a Runner Xenomorph added into the mix, though I'm also kinda glad to think that scene being cut means the dog suffered a quicker death in the nuclear strike compared to death by chestburster - if they'd cut that scene specifically as a 'Take That!' against 'Alien 3', I'd be inclined to approve ('Alien 3' is my least favourite 'Alien' film by far). (6) I agree that Wolf's scrapped death really isn't that good at all - besides making him seem less badass, it takes the 'Alien vs. Predator' out of the film by having the only Predator die and the rest of the film be just Aliens. (7) And I agree with you that they really could've and should've removed the rooftop scene's rain to show Wolf doused in blood from taking on all the Warrior Xenomorphs. (8) I honestly prefer the film's final version of Wolf ripping out the Predalien's inner-jaw and then stabbing its skull with his wrist-blades to the one where he uses the inner-jaw - I find the inner-jaw version a bit hard to take seriously, because I can imagine the jaw either being too floppy to impale the Predalien's skull in Wolf's hand (not enough cartilage in the stalk or whatever), or the Predalien's exo-skull being equally tough whereas the wrist-mounted blades of a Yautja are probably deliberately designed to be tougher. (9) I agree they were wise changing the ending so the surviving humans were taken alive by the soldiers: besides the fact them all being gunned down is too dour, I think it's a bit of Fridge Brilliance - just as the military in other monster movies are often too dumb to consider better alternatives before deploying the nukes against a kaiju or alien motherships, so it seems kinda awesome that in this instance they're positively dumb enough to capture the survivors alive (and likely blackmail them into silence) over the cleaner option of just killing them and disposing of the bodies. (10) That alternate ending with Ms. Yutani's captives would've been an awesome jaw-dropper on one hand. On the other hand, with how there was no third 'AvP' film, if that ending had been retained then it would've been even more of a pity that no third film got made to expand on this. (11) That post-credits scene would've been AWESOME, but... I prefer the idea that we never see the Xenomorphs having any official/original homeworld, we can only imagine where they came from, and the fact they have no specific homeworld makes them seem more like an inter-planetary plague of cockroaches or locusts, with no fixed home, more than anything else.
AVP Requiem is an Oscar winning, multiple Golden Globe winning motion picture compared to Alien Covenant and The Predator. Both were total garbage that shit on their respective franchises.
If studios are going to make an alien film or predator film, remember two things 1. Take risks, try something new, don't do it for the fans (i.e. Second Star Wars trilogy) 2. High budget or don't do the movie
I dont think the pred-alien should use predator tactics. The aliens that form from all other hosts do not carry other skills and tactics. Its just physical appearance which in turn contributes to style of tactics (dog alien will be a 4 legged alien, human alien will stand on 2 legs) but not actual skills as such.
Thank you for this video Mr H! I love AVPR and respect it even more now after the release of the recent abomination af a movie (I won't even mention the name anymore). The Strause brothers at least took it seriously and actually tried to make something cool out of this and you can definitely tell they're big Predator fans and wanted to expand on the lore. Unlike the tard shane black who tried to turn it into a kids movie and even brought along his real life predator friend to bring even more negativity to the film, wich no doubt also contributed to it's failiure. What's up with that guy and giving kids big roles and setting it during holiday anyway? He did the same thing with ironman 3. Please keep that guy away from big budget movies.
I think the Predalien skinning the Yautjas and then hanging them upside-down is silly. I don't see her concerning herself with making a statement like that, that would only matter to other Yautja. And most importantly, that would be a learned behavior or a Yautja culture thing. I think it would be more believable and fun if she was spotted eating one of them. That would be horrific. This Yautja was amazing. I love his design, it's not too over the top. Awesome work, Mr. H! Keep the videos coming! :)
I liked requiem a lot more than the first avp. Never got the hate. It’s def not a great movie, but avp felt like the movie equivalent of a tribal tattoo. Very generic, shallow, with roided-out predators. Requiem seemed a bit of an homage to an 80s style “small town monster movie”(the blob, killer klowns from outer space), by guys who were real fans of an old school genre and aesthetic. It wasn’t great but didn’t feel uninspired.
This actually makes me even more angry about this film. Not only because of the fact that it was poorly written and poorly shot, but also because of the wasted potential as seen here. We could’ve had a scene where Wolf screams in rage at the sight of his skinned brethren, making his fight scenes against the Xenos even more badass and even satisfying. But no, instead we got a film that is yet another teen slasher film but with Predators and Aliens in it. So disappointing.
I know this is unlikely but I hope Disney does create a new Predator universe in the future. I think fox executives are too involved and heavy handed in the film making process.
Was never a fan of the xeno designs in this one. You can tell they kind went cheap. Not to mention that it REALLY bugs me that the xenos have no "cheeks" in this....meaning not so much tendons or sinew linking the top and bottom jaws. I loved Wolf and the PredAlien...only if they didn't pull that Queen bullshit.
The Predalien skinning the Predators was a stupid idea. The Predalien was NOT a hybrid, the Aliens have what is called "Genetic Reflex" meaning that they exhibit phenotypical typical traits of their host, NOT genotypical ones. This means that the Xenomorphs get appearances from their host and still are their own PURE species. A "Dog" Alien does not bark nor growl, a "Cow or Ox" Alien does not Moo, the traits that they obtain is being a Quadruped. As for a "Pred" Alien, it gets to be bipedal with Predator looks and that is it. it makes no sense that it would either skin its victims nor collect their heads as trophies. The idea to even think that the Predalien is a hybrid comes from Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr. where they ridiculously said that when they designed the Predalien to them the creature was 80-85% Alien, and 20-15 Predator and no, the creature is 100% Xenomorph, that has looks from their host. It would be like saying that Insects that camouflage as Snakes and the such and have characteristics from such animals as a defense, that they are "Hybrids". Also, even if the franchise would had used the real and original Species origin for the Aliens, the Xenomorphs culture was lost when their species was wiped out due to a cataclysm and only their eggs survived. The Aliens we know are feral and it is a clear indication of other lifeforms coming into contact with the surviving eggs and then transporting them to other places in the universe. The Xenomorph species are interspecies parasites, as long as a Facehugger can latch on, then an Alien will emerge from the victim no matter the species across the universe and they will always be their OWN species.
I don't know... I think having the secret Yutani facility at the end wouldn't have changed how rushed the ending seems. A lot of this movie just feels a little too crazy, and honestly it's mostly because of how people are portrayed. Obviously we didn't much care for the people in this movie, which... is fine for your standard, throw-away horror flick. But when humanity can just nuke Aliens and Predators, or keep them captive, that's so anti-climactic and it just destroys the intimidating presence of those creatures. It's no coincidence that in Alien and Predator, the people don't know what the creatures are capable of.
I actually liked this movie except the thing with the Pred-alien doing whatever to the pregnant women to make more aliens. That was a bit much, and just didn't make a lot of sense to me. I'm glad they cut the thing with Yutani having a bunch of captured predators and aliens because it would make it make less sense for Weyland to be so desperate to get an alien way in the future.
Unfortunately , i think it will be a cold day in hell before we get another movie with the Predator in it ... thanks to the recent disaster or The Predator...Can not see the franchise coming back from this which is a real shame ...AVP R best part of the whole movie ..WOLF .
I really like that first image you showed with the queen alien head. Would love to see a movie with more of that along with the Predator homeworld. Throw in some colonial marines and you have an awesome movie!
Nothing described here would have gotten this film a sequel. None of these changes sound like they'd make the movie "Good". Being better wouldn't make it "good."
I personally think wolf losing would have been great, ok my thoughts: Wolf and predalien(shark) having an epic battle, wolf holding his own against shark and other aliens. Wolf gets the good news from shark(rip wolf wp). Humans try to take out shark....... don't.... get munched as well. Veiwers be like OMG! shark roars epicly into the distance and unbeknownst to the viewer u.s air force drop a MOAB on the dud. Iron man arrives.. oh wait, cancel that..... credits. Would have got a least a 6 on imbd with that ending! Kapeesh

Yeay, biggest faults were setting in modern era with more civilian type characters and off balance of violence. Too little in the first, too much in the wrong settings (that predalien doing to the women and in the nursery room just standing there geese).
It wouldn’t make sense the PredAlien being able to skin Predators because it would make the PredAlien too intelligent.
Apparently..... When the face huggers deliver the good knews they tap into the host nervous system, inheriting random traits....... who knew??
Ok I lied, cool concept if I do say so myself.
Fuse The Ice I just can’t get my head around them inheriting cultural behaviour.
I find it makes more sense if it claws and decapitates its pry. It would show some predator instinct but more animal like as such.
Another great video from Mr.H. It's staggering just how much I never knew about the movies of this franchise.
I could watch these all day 🎶👂
This was really cool. Looking forward to more like this. There were so many good ideas for AVPR. Maybe we'll see them in the future
Xenomorphs homeworld with some sort of Dino creature....?...How TRULY AWESOME!!
The only problem with impaling the Predalien with its own inner jaw is that it shouldn't be able to maintain its stiffness after being severed?
Requiem is the closest we will likely get to Aliens:Earth War...that saddens me as I try to find the best out of the film...if I could actually see what was happening in between the various shades of black/darkness...
I've always enjoyed avp requiem, better than The predator. I hope there's another avp movie.
Thanks Mr. H for the video sir
dude, thank you...this was rad to watch
Very cool info. Thanks for posting!
How are the removal of the skinned Preds a shame? It makes no sense for an alien to do that...thank god they removed it
I'm one of the few people who actually enjoyed this movie but apart from the after credits scenes, I don't think the rest would've added anything especially the skinned predators scene since the Predalien was essentially an xenomorph just with queen-like abilities.
Requiem certainly had a lot of problems but my biggest was the terrible lighting in the movie, it was so dark. Too dark, terrible lighting department.
I agree especially in the predator alien fight scene in the sewers it was really hard to the action👍
The skinned Predators make little sense to me. Xenomorphs are not that intelligent that they would skin and hang their victims. I also doubt that Predators skinning and hanging victims is something they just do on instinct. Hunting, skinning etc would be something taught as part of their culture.
IMO Predalien skinning Predators, would make 0 sense. This isn't a "natural" behavior that an Alien would inherit.
Damien yeh and avp requiem basically was the mortal kombst znhilstionnof the avp series whre its failure ath the box office killed ther sues off
You and Acid glow really make my day.
Why am I the only one who likes AVPR?
You're not! I'm a huge fan and even got a Wolf tattoo on my shoulder.
@@cihancelikel5633 nice! My only issue with the film is it's too dark, It would benefit from a little more lighting.
@@cihancelikel5633 couldn't agree more! I am going to watch it now! LoL
@@evillynn4166 respect!!
That would have been epic to see all of what you talked about I love all the alien and predator movies they are amazing and the stand the test of time
I really wish they can edit the deleted scenes and they can actually be shown in the picture that it looks like they're moving
Interesting. :)
What are my thoughts on these deleted scenes?
I prefer the idea that we never see the Xenomorphs having any official/original homeworld, we can only imagine where they came from, and the fact they have no specific homeworld makes them seem more like an inter-planetary plague of cockroaches or locusts, with no fixed home, more than anything else.
this movie is a masterpiece compared to the new predator movie
Good video. Keep up the great work on your awesome channel
AVP Requiem is an Oscar winning, multiple Golden Globe winning motion picture compared to Alien Covenant and The Predator. Both were total garbage that shit on their respective franchises.
And the truth shall set you free!
If studios are going to make an alien film or predator film, remember two things
1. Take risks, try something new, don't do it for the fans (i.e. Second Star Wars trilogy)
Class Videos mate. Fox having some serious banter with their awful decision making in regards to the Predator franchise since Predator 2
Great work mate! More deleted/ideas that didnt make it content would be wicked 👌
Dude you're killing it with content this week ... do you ever sleep? Thanks for all your efforts
Really interesting ideas and cuts... almost makes me want to watch the film now ha
Predator artwork is always the best part.
I really wish A v P are got a remake with Guillermo Del Toro calling the shots.
Made the first alien vs predator deleted scenes!!!!!
I would have liked to have seen deleted scenes #1, #4, #5, #7, #8, #10 & #11
So many budget cuts the producers must have been broke
No homo, but your voice is soothing.. Like a sci-fi Morgan Freeman lol
Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem, also known as Aliens Vs. Predator Vs. Pizza Delivery Boy... LMAO 😂
I am saddened that the good scenes were cut.
Having a runner would have been a great call back to (what I think) was a great entry in the franchise.
To clarify, I meant Alien 3 when I wrote ‘A great entry in the franchise’
The skinned predators would be been awesome
I really want an AVP 3.
I remember this movie being so dark in contrast I couldn't tell WTF was going half the time
Was never a fan of the xeno designs in this one.
Predator flesh makes lovely handbags.
Man, Requiem could have been so much better
I still can't get pass the whole Aliens on earth shit with these movies...vs the pizza boy! hilarious 😁😁😁
I wish they did add some of them.
I really like that first image you showed with the queen alien head. Would love to see a movie with more of that along with the Predator homeworld. Throw in some colonial marines and you have an awesome movie!
I'd want to see a predator rescue team going to get their brothers free and fight Yutani and maybe see Dutch Shafer appear
I’d love to see the xenomoroh scene .... but at the same time I like the mystery of not seeing or knowing
I was disappointed that they removed the skinned predators but you can see one of them in the background once wolf stands up
They clearly did not have enough budget to cover the lighting costs.
Nothing described here would have gotten this film a sequel. None of these changes sound like they'd make the movie "Good". Being better wouldn't make it "good."
I actually relly like the AVP movies
I personally think wolf losing would have been great, ok my thoughts:
Wolf and predalien(shark) having an epic battle, wolf holding his own against shark and other aliens.
Kapeesh
"Alien vs Predator vs Pizza delivery boy"? Really what will be next "Terminator vs Pizza delivery boy"??
