I'm pretty bad at fire emblem, so I've actually been grateful for the timewheel, especially during my first playthrough of three houses. I loved all the 3ds FE games. The online for fates is what I’ll miss the most. I spent an absurd amount of time collecting skills through other peoples my castles, getting aptitude and other ridiculous hacked skills for as many units as i could just for laughs. It was so broken. I’m pretty thankful I actually got the special edition cartridge. It’s probably now the most valuable singular game I own which is crazy to think, can’t imagine ever selling it though.
Personally Fire Emblem Fate Revelation was for me the 2nd best game i ever played in the entire Fire emblem series so far for now i think ive spent so much time in it because it was so fun and a lot of contents like making two army in one. Anyways thank you for your opinion Mangs i hope too that they will one day make these three games come back again in the Nintendo online games maybe ❤️❤️❤️
Mangs, without your channel I wouldn't have ever gotten into Fire Emblem as much as I have! Thank you! It was your Fire Emblem Fates series that started it all for me, and I can't believe My Castle is now disappearing forever. It was such a big chunk of my life and now it's over.
Just for the record, there are fan servers in the works. Pretendo is a service that, while still in progress, aims to preserve 3DS and Wii U online functionality. So far a lot of online games like Splatoon and Mario Kart work flawlessly. So Corrinquest possibly has a future yet
My opinion in the awakening dlc many felt like filler and fan content. But the future past dlc as well as apotheosis actually testing your skill were peak in my opinion, best dlc in the series imo
So sad that its gone. While I did heavily get into Fire Emblem with the 3ds era and even though they may not be my favorite I will truly miss the good times I had. o7
Ironically, Echoes was the only 3ds fire emblem game out of the 3 that I finished. By the time I got my hands on a 3DS, I had already watched so many gameplays on Awakening and Fates that I couldn't particularly enjoy the games because I already knew what was gonna happen or what to expect. Plus, I got them after Echoes bc they were unfortunately hard to find in stores. I went in blind with Echoes, so I think that helped me thoroughly engage and enjoy the game as I did with previous titles. It quickly became my favorite on the 3DS and will always be special to me.
I still have my DLCs for Awakening, Fates, and Shadows of Valentia..... but I regret now, not having been able to get all of them. ... This is too heartless. Uuu....... eee........... eee eee........ I wanna sob.
It is truly a shame to lose the servers, even though I personally didn’t use online features (at least not much). By the way, if the labyrinth in Echoes you are referring to is the Thabes Labyrinth, it isn’t DLC, it’s just a post-game thing.
Looking back at it, yeah, the 3DS era really was special, probably my favorite... But hey, the games are still there, just watching this video made me want to pick my 3DS again
This era was my introduccion to the saga, i Will always remembrr this Game with love and frustration because dammn My fisrt playtrouhgt in hard/Classic was so stressfull but satisfactory and here i am now playing all the saga c:
My biggest question is whether dlc you've already bought is going away. I have all three Fates paths downloaded as well as some DLC for Awakening and Echoes. Will I lose all that?
I remember my first Fire Emblem was awakening but It belonged to a friend. I only got to play it for 10 minutes. Once Fates came out my roommate saw my 3DS and purchased Birthright for me as a surprise. I’ll admit Fates was an interesting first look at Fire Emblem. It has my favorite character ever in Setsuna so I can’t say too many negative things about it. I’m glad I have all the DLC for Fates and Echoes. Time surely has flown by. I’m going to miss the 3DS online servers.
Good thing Last Year I made a Lunatic Save after Chapter 6 for all three Routes and got EVERYTHING I wanted using other My Castle recruits at End Game Level to: "Get Anna Early, complete the Item/WEapon DLC a few times to get some interesting weapon and items. Get some skills from the other My Castles to record. Complete the Money DLC a few times for alot of Starter Money (Not the 9999 Max, but enough as a "getting started") then deleted all those recruits. Leaving only Corrin (Conquest & Revelations is Female, Birthright is Male), Anna (who is untouched and at where she is when you're suppose to have gotten her) and whoever you're suppose to have at that point (Conquest: Jakob, Revelations: Jakob and Azura, and well you get the idea for Birthright! Felicia suffers from not having early Ch 2-3 level ups, but she can live since it's BIRTHRIGHT!) Those saves provided I never lose the 3DS I did it in which I won't should tied me over whenever I want to start a playthrough since I will just go off of those saves and if I don't want to play Lunatic, I can always lower it to Hard which I prefer to play FE anyway! Not till 3H and Engage have I EVER gone beyond Hard. Hell Fates is what let me GIVE Hard Mode a chance in the series....and helps Radiant Dawn TRICKING me into playing Hard Mode when I thought I was on Normal helped with this! But yeah I like 3H & Engage Maddening! Engage Maddening alot more because less BS then 3H though 3H hard DOES keep me from OVERLEVELING, same with Engage which was always a thing I hated to do by accident as it trivalizes the challenge till Late game. People get mad at how easy the final bosses are! Fuck those people! I prefer FE tradition of making the final bosses JOKES IF I use the "legendary Falchion weapon" like the story TOLD ME TO DO. Because I can do the "Seliph beats Julius" thing to make it a CHALLENGE and give a STORY reason of "it makes better sense then NAGA TOME GO BRRR...." which makes Seliph as pointless as his ancestor was! and 3H KILLED any care about "making Final Bosses HARD as Maddening Silver Snow Immaculate One STILL gives me Nightmares! I want BALANCED, not "HP Sponge Nonsense" which is what keeps me from leaving the safety of CASUAL when playing Maddening! At least a mistake DOESN'T make me have to RETRY to avoid losing anyone! Not a fan of Ironman myself! Love watching others, but me doing it. Nope most likely NEVER unless it's XCOM Still sad and hope future FE after Engage AREN'T reliant on Online connections for a STRONG amount of their functions so if the servers ever go down or not working, I can still use a LARGE amount of their functions (A plus of Engage over Fates is because I can't do that level of BS, I'm still playing a "FAIR" game even with all the DLC and Update stuff they give you! Hell at least they feel more like REWARDS and REALLY help in Hard-Avoid over leveling & Maddening. And Maddening 3H at least makes grinding FUN as Hard Mode 3H when I had to grind BORED me! Hard Mode 3H was fun when I DIDN'T grind, but if I had to, I was BORED. Grind in Maddening is simply trying out builds for my main cast! Engage Maddening gives me what I wanted from FE period! No Grinding at ALL! Yeah, not having access to Skirmish's REMOVES the distractions and makes me HAVE to rely on balancing everyone to get the most out of LEVELS! Even with the DLC Bracelet Island stuff. I still find myself not OVERKILLING often and actually feeling the ANXIETY I love to feel from this series when one of my units is in danger, except unlike in Conquest, I have REWIND for when that happens, and no Battle Save temptation which I got over after my 2nd playthrough of Engage means my love that was starting to wane a little after Conquest brought it back for classic FE has returned in full! Originally never was going to touch Maddening like EVER, or even Lunatic. But all the "you got to try it" and beating Hard on all FE 3DS and Switch made me decide to give each a try, and I say I love it! Hard Mode is NORMAL mode when I just want to PLAY, while Maddening/Lunatic is HARD MODE where I want to play a CHALLENGE! I guess cause I'm a RPG type of player, I don't go for the "META" builds, but Builds I feel FIT a character! It means I DON'T abuse the "Make everyone a Wyvern Lord" in 3H or Alear/Corrin EVER leaves Divine Child/Nohr Prince, Princess-Divine Dragon/Nohr-Hoshido Noble Class in Engage/Fates! It's fun to play characters in their WORST classes at least ONCE. But I find SUPER Meta where you pick the "This build goes BRRR" from someone else instead of finding it out myself to be BORING AS FUCK)
*Sadly, I dont blame them.* 8-10 years ig since Awakening, 3ds Its not their priority anymore, and severs cost money to stay up ig, and everyone already gave their money for the 3DS FE games years go. So, as sad as it is, makes sense...
It's been a journey, good thing hacking a 3ds takes like 15 minutes and is idiot proof to do. With the custom servers, just like how DS pokemon still has the servers alive ever since they shut down 10 years ago, so will fates have them alive.
I didn’t hear about the shutdown until just today and now I’m sad I likely have missed out on a bunch of stuff by having put off finishing these games when I bought them years ago.
i got all the fire emblems and dlc saved to my 3ds. hopefully i will never delete it by accident or something bad happens. Awakening started it for me, like fates and its dlc, Echoes was amazing. Still got more fire emblem to play but these 3ds games i will replay or or revisit from time to time
It's sweet to hear that the community is trying to preserve all this content but there's no way Nintendo is not going to eventually strike it down just like they do everything else.
Despite with all it's flaws, the 3ds era at least received 2 new games (or 4 considering fates as 3 games) +1 remake, I was never so salty about the fact that NDS received no new games only 2 remakes, and 1 of them was jp exclusive
Yes. I understand it's all sad, I won't be able to do stuff with my 3ds. But, there's something even sadder. You haven't posted the wedding video. WHERE'S THE WEDDING VIDEO BWANGS?
Fire Emblem Awakening had a very crazy final dlc challenge. It was a mission that featured a gauntlet of really tough, really strong enemies maxed out with some skills not available to players. I needed units with maxed out stats, various skills and powerful weapons.
It's over folks, well, not really, like you said you Can still play pretty much all of the games, dlc included, but still, feels weird. Awakening was the stepping stone the series needed. Fates was the experience we also needed.... And I didn't played echoe so I can't Say a thing about it lol. Honestly ? It's like watching a pet died. You are sad, but know that you must move on..... AND PLAY ENGAGE TILL THE END OF TIME HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Now, Time for my monthly run of Rev After my daily prayer to the altar of the allmigthy Anankos.
I don't really take any issue with tge Turnwheel as a mechanic But its definitely not great narratively, since there always needs to an excuse for why its there, and its existence inevitably leads to questions of "why didnt the protag just turn back time in this situation" like i remember happening in 3H
In 3h It happens Just 2 times: 1 in the prologue and 1 when an important character dies. The game in the end lets you use 12 divine pulses but lorewise Byleth can use It only in very few occasions and drains so much Energy from him (it's and heartbeat in a body that doesn't support It)
God I'm so glad some random Review Show in my country covered Awakening. That Show sparked a Flame inside of me. I remember saving up to 50€ to buy that game as a 12-14 year old. And I also remember that same 12-14 year old ass crying at the end, when I chose to sacrifice myself. After that Titel I played every Emblem I could get my hands on. It also inspired me to Work on my own FE8 Rom Hack.
Awakening brought me to the series. Fates while not the most well put together game imo still was very fun and was the only time I ever dipped my toes into pvp seriously Echoes had a lot of unique changes that I found enjoyable and has my favorite final map theme in the franchise. Great games gonna still be playing them for years to come and still want to see what the community can do with all of them.
Hi, I'm about to ruin your day! What makes this a THOUSAND times worse is that Nintendo as of recently decided that they will no longer be producing Engage and Three Houses physical copies. This means if the Nintendo Switch Eshop ever shuts down. Every single modern Fire Emblem game will be fucking gone! And not just modern fire emblem. EVERY fire emblem game since the beginning of the series will not be able to be played unless you emulate! Save every single one of your Fire Emblem copies because there going to be worth some serious money in the next 3-5 years...
i will always love awakening Fates and Echoes these fire emblem games were really good specially Awakening and Fates ❤️❤️❤️ because these games were incredible in their own ways 👍👍👍
RIP, whodve thought the 3DS servers had information that could lead to the arrest of Hillary Clinton. 😭😭 Jokes aside I HATE this concept of games and tons of content ONLY being available digitally especially since companies can force updates to permanently change the game or just straight up remove content YOU have already paid for. Only time will tell where we go from here...
I wish I've gotten all the class dlc for Echoes... I sat on my copy for around 3 years, haven't even played it yet, I was planning on getting all the dlc but kept procrastinating... At the last day before the eshop closed, I downloaded Conquest to have Fates completed on my 3DS, cuz I feel like it's the most replayable 3DS FE (alongside Awakening)... but damn, I'm really sad about how I neglected Echoes. :(
I have all the paid DLC but, despite playing through Fates Conquest, Awakening and Echoes once each I feel like there's just so much of it. Other games with DLC never got near as much as what was in these games.
Pour one out for the 3DS games. While I’ve been an FE player since the GBA era some of my favorite memories of Fire Emblem are playing Awakening in High School and loving every minute of it. The sound design of that game still isn’t matched! Lmao Fates ‘tho
I still remember waiting for Awakening back when I was 13 years old and rushing to my local gamestop the day it released and playing it on the train home. I did not enjoy the game as much as the older ones, but I will always remember the days of hanging out at my best friend's place and talking about our builds/pairings. Fuck fates though, those games were dogshit.

Thank you ❤
I totally hopped on for fe fates dungeons just to look around at castles
I found your channel about ten years ago now that I think of it. During the fates era. I can’t believe it’s been that long.
Mangs, without your channel I wouldn't have ever gotten into Fire Emblem as much as I have! Thank you! It was your Fire Emblem Fates series that started it all for me, and I can't believe My Castle is now disappearing forever. It was such a big chunk of my life and now it's over.
If purchase isnt ownership, then piracy isnt theft
Thank God I acquired Flipnote 3D before this.
Is that flipnote hatena?
Even after playing through the overwhelming majority of FE games Conquest remains my absolute favorite.
Gonna miss the my castle stuff alot 😒
Pirates: ITS SHOWTIME
Just for the record, there are fan servers in the works. Pretendo is a service that, while still in progress, aims to preserve 3DS and Wii U online functionality. So far a lot of online games like Splatoon and Mario Kart work flawlessly. So Corrinquest possibly has a future yet
DAMN, i just realized that now i cant play Luigi's Mansion 2 multiplayer no longer. Very sad days are ahead of us. :(
07 to the 3ds online, it will always be the best handheld
F. Truly the end of an era. Just hearing awakening's OST is enough to bring all the memories flooding back.
Nice touch on the final clip for this video.
Echoes will probably always be my favorite game, rip my 30 dollars spent on DLC tho
It is truly a shame to lose the servers, even though I personally didn’t use online features (at least not much).
By the way, if the labyrinth in Echoes you are referring to is the Thabes Labyrinth, it isn’t DLC, it’s just a post-game thing.
Rev mentioned Alarm!!! Rev Gang!
REV
Nope most likely NEVER unless it's XCOM
Still sad and hope future FE after Engage AREN'T reliant on Online connections for a STRONG amount of their functions so if the servers ever go down or not working, I can still use a LARGE amount of their functions (A plus of Engage over Fates is because I can't do that level of BS, I'm still playing a "FAIR" game even with all the DLC and Update stuff they give you!
Thats pretty much the unspoken green light. Fetch me my Jolly Rodger!
*Sadly, I dont blame them.*
8-10 years ig since Awakening, 3ds Its not their priority anymore, and severs cost money to stay up ig, and everyone already gave their money for the 3DS FE games years go. So, as sad as it is, makes sense...
It's been a journey, good thing hacking a 3ds takes like 15 minutes and is idiot proof to do. With the custom servers, just like how DS pokemon still has the servers alive ever since they shut down 10 years ago, so will fates have them alive.
0:26 the real tragedy:
Having started with Awakening, what an era 3DS was for FE. I sure will miss it...
It was fun while it lasted, My Castle was fun and such an unnecessary mechanic but so fun to use and visit castles
Still got more fire emblem to play but these 3ds games i will replay or or revisit from time to time
Let's hope the new Switch has the 3Ds games available in the online shop.
That "Oh no, anyway..." made me crack up so hard.
So long 3ds and Wii U, it's been a blast!
It's sweet to hear that the community is trying to preserve all this content but there's no way Nintendo is not going to eventually strike it down just like they do everything else.
Just realized I have been watching your channel for 9 years, started with Days of Ruin. Any chance you will go back to play another run of it?
Idc what anyone says, my first experience with awakening was incredible and i still look back on it to this day.
Gonna miss those cracked Corrins now. O7 🥚
Valentia to the switch when please?
I lost count on how many times I've played through Echoes.
Thankfully I was able to pick up all the dlc for awakening. My favorite of the series
I don't really take any issue with tge Turnwheel as a mechanic
But its definitely not great narratively, since there always needs to an excuse for why its there, and its existence inevitably leads to questions of "why didnt the protag just turn back time in this situation" like i remember happening in 3H
In 3h It happens Just 2 times: 1 in the prologue and 1 when an important character dies. The game in the end lets you use 12 divine pulses but lorewise Byleth can use It only in very few occasions and drains so much Energy from him (it's and heartbeat in a body that doesn't support It)
Don’t agree with all your opinions on the games, but nevertheless enjoy your analysis/PoV.
I could buy the Game legally on hardware now that the servers are down...
"Or I can use the hShop staff!"
Awakening brought me to the series.
Fates while not the most well put together game imo still was very fun and was the only time I ever dipped my toes into pvp seriously
Echoes had a lot of unique changes that I found enjoyable and has my favorite final map theme in the franchise.
Jokes aside I HATE this concept of games and tons of content ONLY being available digitally especially since companies can force updates to permanently change the game or just straight up remove content YOU have already paid for. Only time will tell where we go from here...
I was an awakening baby, mostly a fates brat, but fuck man... I dunno if an internet-less fates world is one we wanna be in
I'm hoping they port these games to the Switch so we won't have to get new 3DS consoles
0:52 Remember, THE FRUIT KNIVES ARE TO BLAME.
Echos iron man next. That game is an absolute master piece. I don’t think you’ve done it yet either?
It is very optimistic to believe that a new FE entry on a possible new console would be a renessance after the lack of engage's success
I love inhaling copium.
We can hope, the copium is for everyone
I was an awakening baby now im an awakening man god bless o7
Rest In Peace
My sd card got corrupted rip my dlc
The Post game content is on the Main Rom for FE15 and not DLC.
Thank god. Revelations is one step closer to becoming lost media
I was there for your first corrinquest
Awakening It's still my favorite FE.
Rip friend safari
