  • We moved to Canada in 2021 as temp workers, received PR in 2023, and bought a house in 2024
Watch our journey to see how we did it
Watch us move across from the east to the west coast and build our hobby farm from scratch

So interesting about the mortgage thank you for that! We had a well in rural Ontario.. ours needed sorting .. Chlorine for bacteria.. a filter and a water softener.. our utility bills were a lot.. 500/600 dollars combined.. at least you probably won’t need AC there.. sadly, we were unable to swim in many of the lakes.. due to the green algae.. although, I think NS has just put up QR codes at many of their lakes to let people know if they are infected or not.. at least there are ocean beaches close by! I guess it could be due to the place warming up..Our journey from mid BC to mid Ontario took 8 days.. but we had a UHaul and a car.. that was driving 7 hour days and about an hour stop along the way for toilet and food.. we thought it would be quicker but it was more of a challenge than we expected.. think it took us 2 days to get past Lake Superior! Good luck on your epic adventure!!

Thanks, the lake near us doesn’t suffer from green algae. We had the owners put in a new septic, and they had replaced the water tank and added a filtration system. All out tests came back clear. You’re also wrong about the temps, where we are going they are in their high 20’s early 30’s already, and yes air con is needed. We have the bills from the last couple years and they average out at 150 a month over the year. We have friends and multiple others we have chatted to about routes etc so we know 8 days is good to go. Our travel times vary from 4 hours to 11 to push through last couple of days. We have hotels pre booked so we know our stops as well. Can’t wait to get on the road
