Absolutely Perfect video! I'm impressed! It would be also perfect to make the video about present Gambian currency banknotes in circulation because it's so interesting for all of us who Love the Gambia! Thanks a lot!!!
My Gambia Great video. However, your interpretation of Tapa Lapa is not right to me. I think it comes from pulaar fouta Djallon (Guinea) based on the fact that most bakeries are operated by them. So, “tapa lapa” means hand beaten in reference to the processing of the bread before your put it the oven. In addition, tapalapa used to big especially the one’s made in Brikama until recently. So, “lapa” in Wolof meaning tiny doesn’t fit the name. My 2 cents.
Thank you for your comment believe I was breaking down the two words that form it I did not mention it as its origin. But thank you for your comment as we are exploring the meaning of Tapa lapa and where it came from your comment adds up to what we already have. research in Gambia is sometimes hard as everyone has a different story as to what a certain thing means. therefore such insights are very much appreciated by us.
