Luv the ul 19. I just started building a bare hull of one i bought. I ordered the hydra with a leopard 4082 1600kv x2. Hoping for a good oval running machine

Nice clean passes with the UL. I flew planes today and passing the lake made me regret my choice but turned out to be a good time. What you said about modding your own props compared to buying them is spot on. There's just no achievement in bolt on accessories

Could you possibly run that oxidean 50mm 3 blade? Also, I have a abc 1917, battery draining prop. It’s only a 3 speed pass with 9000 100c batteries. BUT, it’s a fast one lol
Awesome bro! 79!! That's fast as hell man I'm so stuck with mine I think I need higher kV, I want to do 70 reliably . When you're all done topping it out will you do something like finding good prop for ovals? My goal is a full pack bash session with 70mph capabilities 🤷🏻♂️

About C ratings, you mentioned in a vid awhile back that the V2 would run better on 5000-7000ma, 100c plus packs and up but to not run say the 5000 packs on 50c in regards to better performance of the boat with 100c plus.I was going to buy 2 Gens Ace Bashing ,6800ma,11.1v, 120c,3s,EC5 for my V2, as a choice over the Spektrum 5000,100c packs. Any advise is appreciative even on your new Zee packs as a choice..Thanks

I am looking to go fast, but not "blazing" fast.In the 60 plus mph range or so would be ideal.I also have a CNC 4519, and waiting for a ABC 1716 to be available to go with the 160 Firma. As I live in Ontario, good Lipo selection is limited in availability. What would you recommend as a good choice in my set up. Thanks for your time and help.
Hey John, I run the Gens Ace Bashing 8000mah 100C in my V2 and they work awesome. Not too heavy, lots of run time vs the 5000mah 50C Spectrum (which I also run in it with no issues on stock electronics) Also in Ontario and yes it's hard to find good batteries here local!

Good morning big B! Great video. Any chance you can tell us what your strut height was at on UL in this video? Maybe include it in future UL videos? I’d like to see this same UL set up but strut brought up a 1/16”. For example if it’s 20mm on mad lizard gauge then lower the boat to 19mm. Seems it might have less pick up on front end. Stay after it! Enjoy learning from your videos!
Gotcha. Ya that would be too deep for my UL. It likes around 19-20mm, flat strut position. With mad lizard gauge measured at transom. I enjoy tinkering with all the tuning options on this boat. Cheers!
Dropped a new system in the ul thinking it would run a little cooler as I heard the stock system doesn’t like prolonged 6s running and getting some white smoke when I open the hatch. Temps are pretty hot, 160 on esc, 120 on motor and 100 on the wires. You think the esc is getting to hot and that’s where the smoke is coming from? Time for a higher amp esc like the raider 150 u think? As always, love the vids! Thumbs up!
The wires inside the motor look good, no black from what I can see from the holes. Esc has a faint burnt smell so guessing it burned something lol. Just put in a 4082 2000 with a raider 150 and drilled out the stock water exit hole bigger since it appeared to be the bottleneck in the water system so hopefully she runs cooler
The 42 is one of my favorite boats to run. There's not a whole lot you need to do out the Box it comes ready to go basically, Only thing needs to be done out the box is a secondary water cooling line, And a prop upgrade

Nice runs. You could see in slowmo BJ recovered one time from lifting, looks big lipo's in front did help and speed also was fastest. I think much bigger prop makes no sense, motor gets warm/hot so there is not much more left a asume... You should be able to see some of your changes in your data (amps, rpm) but i guess youre so busy you haven't looked at it yet ..
Unfortunately i don't have the castle link yet it's on the way, soon as it comes in I'll do a video assessing the data logs. actually very interested in the data.
@@IRONCLADRC I think it will be helpfull choosing the right prop. As an example, i ran same speed from cutdown (blade area) 47x1.4 as with a 43x1.6 high rake. 47mm is more load, without cut i can't run a pack normally because of temps en cutouts, with the cut i can run it hard but for short time and then i have to cool down. With the 43mm i can run whole pack hard. So if i would get 1 of 2mm more i would be faster with same "inconfenianties"... Some times is bigger not better. With the data you can see those parameters. Can't wait to see how this all evolves. I'm sure there will be more new pb's in the future...

The C rating is an arbitrary (made up)number, not really a reliable factor. SMC states that right on their website, that it is marketing mumbo jumbo to sell batteries. Internal resistance, under load testing, and quality wiring/terminals on the end user(the consumer) are what matters.

A bigger one if you wanna fly ;) Hard to say unknowing the specs. Same size higher pitch, or bigger one with same pitch? Trial and error.

I lost my 3 blade oxidean, nut spun off and so did the prop grrrrrr. Is the 1917 worth purchasing in your opinion?
@@IRONCLADRC I don’t think it is. As horrible as it drains batteries it’s good for a pass or two, I like to run fast but have run time
What all are you running on your Blackjack 42 ? I just ordered one with 5000 mah 100c 8s batteries. Hoping to get it up to at least 60 to 65 mph.

I understand what you said on the C rating overall. ill be running the Firma 16a in the v2 as well for battery selection

22mm if I'm not mistaken flat position no positive or negative.

Your smoke could be the copper winding in the motor. Look in the motor to see if the copper wire has turned Blick. Just look into the open end bells.
