Watching S1 of New Amsterdam, I don’t like Reynolds. Also, if I remember right, it turned out that Bloom did the procedure perfectly, the bleed happened because of a complication.
Shocked V-Fib twice in 30 seconds and not again, did compressions at a bad depth at a rate of 180 and stopped after 2 minutes when you are supposed to go for at least 20 minutes. Oki
She may have saved his life doing that but regardless she knew was breaking protocol so to act all annoyed and snippy is not professional. She wants a damn congratulations and round of applause. It was risky doing that and she should know that. She isn’t a cardiotheraakc surgeon.
She was snippy and annoyed because the reason she was in the position of either breaking protocol or letting the patient die is because the actual surgeon was like an hour or two late. Id be snippy too!
Nurse did the right thing, telling Bloom that it is against protocol. Basically asking her if she is sure and if she accepts responsibility if anything goes wrong.

I’m pretty sure it turned out she did the procedure right, the bleed happened for another reason. And should she have just let the kid die because Reynolds wouldn’t get there?
I know this is TV Land, but really they worked on him for a minute and then he wants him to stop and say time of death? I mean paramedics worked on my husband for 25 minutes before they gave up and pronounced his death.
Sorry about your loss. There are some conditions where you know resuscitation can still bring someone back and at times, you just know at that moment it is impossible and the best you can do is call for the TOD. Normally, we are told it is in our discretion of how long we will work on a patient.
those are the most pathetic chest compressions i've ever seen, doctor mike would be LIVID. can they not get a dummy in there so the actors can actually push down?
@@brandonmcglocklin9040That's part of medical dilemma. You stick to protocols, you may lose a patient. You disobey them and the patient dies, your license as a doctor, or nurse, is at risk. The medical field is brutal, unforgiving and perfectionist. You cannot just go and say "At least we did something." to a family member whose family died in your watch. The best they could've done was call the cardio to inform them of an emergency happening and see if they can get someone to go there.
And that's why there are protocols. You only ignore them when they are dumb but this probably was that kind of situation. And sometimes there is nothing you can do but let them die and that is just the reality. So yeah ultimately God decides in the end of someone lives or dies.
