TTI 2024 Workforce Development LC Session 2: PA's Crisis Intervention Worker Certification

Transformation Transfer Initiative (TTI) Workforce Development Learning Community: Session Two. NASMHPD's Senior Behavioral Health Advisor, Wendy Morris, is joined by Pennsylvania’s Jenna Mehnert-Baker, who discusses best practices and lessons learned from PA's 2023 TTI project. The TTI partnered with Temple University-Harrisburg and leveraged PA's existing online learning system to provide crisis intervention workers with necessary orientation and onboarding training. Upon completing this coursework, individuals earned a 2-year certification as a Crisis Intervention Worker.
Dr. Jenna Mehnert Baker is the Bureau Director of Policy, Planning, and Program Development with the PA Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services within the Department of Human Services. Before this position, Jenna led state NAMI and NASW chapters. Additionally, she has held politically appointed positions for the Mayors of NYC and Washington, DC, and previously served in Governor Rendell’s administration. Jenna is a current board member of CIT International and served on the IACP’s One Mind Committee. Jenna holds an MSW from the University of Pennsylvania and a doctorate in public administration from West Chester University.
