I know it's such a strange question to ask because without the gamer, gaming can neither be fun or not... So, i ask you, are you having fun gaming? I'm kinda learning how to just play games to enjoy them again... So many factors can allow games to just become a chore as opposed to an outlet. The gaming industry is far from perfect, but I definitely believe there is a ton of fun to be had in gaming in 2025 Let me know what yall thinking and thanks for checking the video out.
@ I haven’t, no. I’ll do some research around it. But I’m honestly not feeling very hopeful for the future of Ubisoft with all that has been going on. I haven’t kinda given up hope on a proper new ghost recon and even a splinter cell game. Both franchise that made me fall in love with gaming as I explained in the video. But I’ll do some reading around it
I got Space Marine 2 a couple of days ago, and I have enjoyed it massively. A friend recommended it to me and having played a lot of Helldivers 2 it was worth giving it a try. And for me these two games are the most fun I have had in years. Because for me personally a game where you can really get into the universe and roleplay a little bit is so much fun. Especially with Space Marine 2 where there are different chapters its cool to see people not only wear their colors but also play them like its written in the lore. And even shout things like "For the Emperor". It just makes the experience so much better.
@sennedegroof4728 I LOVE this. Thanks also for reminding me that I need to check out Space Marine 2 and Helldivers 2. I'm so happy you're getting to enjoy the games you play. That's what it's all about at the end of the day. Did you see the Secret Level episode for Warhammer 40K? That was honestly one of the BEST episodes from the entire series. So good! And i found out that the guy that made the Astartes fan film had a role to play in the episode. SO GOOD!
@kiekeyz I did see the Secret Level episode and it was amazing. It made me want to play the game even more! Definitely my favorite episode from the series.
For me.. the reason I watch your content is that you're real, not doing for any reason but fun, and I enjoy listening to what you have to say and the way you play and help ppl learn how to play the game with some confidence to learn and not to be scared of trying new thing. Keep it up, and I really enjoy your content.
I understand your view of getting lost in making content instead of enjoying the game. I just started making content and to make sure that did not happen I decided to not "polish" my video's. No intro. No edit. No cards. No music. No commentary. Just record and if it comes out good or has something interesting, I post it. If not it gets deleted.
Thanks for the video, you remind me “why i make my youtube channel”. I also like to share my experience on playing games. As for me , nowadays i prefer on playing more sigle player games and i’m having more fun doing that than multiplayer games.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! It’s awesome that you have a channel too. Keep going my friend. There will be moments of discouragement along the path. That's why it's so important for us to revisit every now and then why we got started. Thanks for watching!
I don't even make content and find gaming to be more of a chore than anything else. I get into a game then reach a point where I'm over it and just want it to end. Very rarely is there a game I'm just lost in. I think RDR2 was the last one.
I feel you on this 100%. I guess it's a controversial opinion and I've got some hate for it, but I simply don't enjoy soulslikes lol. It becomes so much of a chore after a while So i know what you mean... and yea, I'm with you on RDR2. That was the last game that whenever I stopped playing it I was looking forward to playing it again. Thanks for watching!
As long as they continue to have games as a service, games that exist solely to sell dlc crap, games that require internet connectivity, constant drm…. Then no. But if the industry starts recognizing the massive mistakes of the past decade or so, maybe we can get a plethora of great games again
The corporatization and politicizing of games is the issue. I remember a time when tech was the only thing holding back games. I used to dream back in the day of a time where all these passionate game devs had all the tech they could ask for! It was also a time when most dev team leads were actually gamers that loved the industry. Now, we have all the tech any dev would need to make bangers all year round but the people making the big decisions don't really care about games, they only care about money. The soul is gone which makes innovation die. The people making the decisions care more about what virtue signalling activists who barely play games for fun will think. I always wish they would just understand that all the money they would want is behind making a good game. It's like that old dilapitated restaurant that still makes good money because almost everything on the menu is simply good! Sure you want that 5star service and taste but you will always at least order from that little restaurant down the road every other weekend!
You put it in a way that makes so much sense! Profound. Back then the devs were limited by tech, now the tech is unlimited and we see a shift to some lazy practices. Even with the optimization of games…. Many are shipping unfinished games and relying on day 1 patches and more.
Im just hoping we get the new ghost recon this year. The leaks and rumors have had me blueballed for a year now. I'm more of a military/ tactical enthusiast more than I am an avid gamer... like, I'd watch any content that revolves around the military/tactical genre and that's actually good and entertaining. So from my pov, gaming seems to have gotten worse for the older folks, but for the younger generation that's more competitive and "trendy" they seem to enjoy it just fine.
You're right my friend. I never really got into stuff like battle royale's and the more fast paced competitive stuff and I guess that's where all the money is. That's part of the reason I find myself playing alot of older games. I'm trying to still be hopeful for a new Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell announcement soon.
From my understanding, there are some great military games from the indie side, such as Escape from Tarkov Ground Branch Squad Ready or Not Insurgency: Sandstorm Six Days in Fallujah Zero Hour I don't think being trendy is the problem, because everything we used to love was trendy in their respective times, but a lot of games nowadays seem to have too much political DEI stuff, games that are unoptimised, broken systems, safe games not willing to take risks, lack of games from different genres and so on. I'd love to go to times, even used to games from every genre and everyone was happy. You like military and tactical games, I like racing games and there was a time we used to get those at the same time and reached the hands of their respective audience, it ain't working anymore.
There's also the issue you mentioned about creating content sucking out the fun experience. It's very true even for PVP. Unfortunately, fun experiences seem to be inversely proportional to catering to other people's expectations and their involvement. This is why i lean more towards PVE or collabortive multiplayer experiences. This happened to me with a game i love to death, RDR2. I was a top player for about 6 months when the game went online and it was good for a while, but with every new PVP experience my fun aspect was getting drained. Because to keep winning and having that fun experience, it becomes more about using the gear and goofy tactics that are best rather than the gear and gameplay that keeps me immersed and allows me to role play. I remember i loooved the look and feel of the rolling block rifle, double barreled shot gun and litchfield repeater, but because they kinda sucked in high level PVP i was forced to use the carcano, repeating shotgun and the lancaster repeater. My funnest time was doing missions with like 2 or 3 people and the PVE encounters being random and focussed towards a goal rather than just getting more kills than the other team. I absolutely loved doing delivery missions then having a random posse try to steal the goods and when that's over we go our seperate ways. I hated when it devovled into a team deathmatch calling each other names, even if it was satisying to beat them in the moment. Basically, you have the most fun when you are not influenced by other peoples expectations of something.
I’m with you again with the PVE aspects or Coop PVE in games like Division. I’ve NEVER played the PVP stuff in the division games, just not my thing… and as you said, it stops being about fun and more about finding the tactics that work etc. all that stuff gets in the way.
I've enjoy watching your journey for a long time too lol you doing a great job my friend, you got to have fun playing and recording.. I mostly play Division 2 and one day we'll meet up in Division 2 🙂 Yeah i know how you feel, it's been 9mths since i uploaded a gameplay video. It was getting like a job trying to please and losing the fun playing. And i just played without recording, i will be uploading soon but on no time scale will i be putting videos out.
@SaltandPepperX thanks for being here my friend and yea, I get what you mean 100%. I feel like the content is even more authentic when we are just having fun instead of being perfect. I’m still learning
Another entertaining video, brother. Thanks for providing your personal perspective on the matter. I'm from '95, so I grew up on N64, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and finally PC Gaming. I think, as we get older, it's natural to experience some burnout, but so long as something keeps bringing you back and resparking that joy, I think that's your proof that it truly is a hobby that you're passionate about. If you would ever like to expand your gaming cirlce by one more, I would be honored to play with you anytime. We can compare what else we both play outside of Breakpoint. Cheers, brother.
I hear ya and totally agree Steven! I feel like I'm always going back and forth with what I think I'm passionate about within gaming. Creating content has added a new dynamic that I'm working on managing so I don't lean too much into it and forget to have fun. Thanks for making the offer to game. I'm planning to run a few ops on the channel with subscribers so I will keep in touch. Drop your ubi name so we can connect. Thanks again!
Simply helping the algorithm here - but regarding the video's two thumbnail images - both renditions can be fun. You play one way when fully kitted out and have a team, you play another when you're alone and just survived, perhaps a crash, perhaps an escape, etc, etc - hoping to gather gear and other resources (including recruiting other survivors perhaps) - so you can directly confront the enemy. :)
To put it simply, it can be. I’ve come to a point in gaming where I’ve come to enjoy mods for a lot of open world games. Fallout 4 and Skyrim SE take the cake in this regard. I’m the type of gamer where I take my custom character creation seriously. The reason for this is because I’m currently writing a sci-fi fantasy story that combines modern tactical like Call of Duty and medieval fantasy like Witcher. And in this story, a team of three consisting of an Army Ranger, an FBI chick, and a computer hacker teen boy join forces with a Viking-inspired Nord warrior, a High Elf sorceress, and later an 18-year-old female rogue thief to fight an evil necromancer who is able of reanimating the dead to fight for his own nefarious cause. And yes, I’ve even made the big bad guy in Skyrim and I have tons of fun playing as him reanimating my enemies to fight for me. Heck I’ve even taken the Army Ranger character to another step by building an Airsoft loadout to mimic his entire kit. From the tactical gear to the Daniel Defense MK18 and Glock 19 weapons he rocks, this Airsoft experience I’ve chosen to get into is to feel more immersed with the character and implement those experiences into the story.
Hey Nicholas, one thing I'm ashamed to say out loud is that I have never played a Fallout game, nor have I played Skyrim lol. I need to try and fix that in 2025. I keep putting it off. Your story overview sounds SICK! That sounds like something I'd watch too if it ever became a show. All the best with the writing of that. Sounds really good! I love the premise. The fact that you've translated it into airsoft stuff is really cool. I have never done airsoft before but looks BEYOND cool. Hopefully i'll get to one day. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@kiekeyz If you're gonna start playing a Fallout game, Fallout 3 and/or New Vegas would be good places to start. Any Fallout game before that doesn't hold up very well compared to those two because the Fallout games before Fallout 3 were designed to work for VERY old school PCs. By that, I mean the first Fallout game was released all the way back in 1997. And yes, I have translated the leader (Army Ranger) character into Airsoft but if I had five more people to join me to reenact those characters, I'd recreate their loadouts as well. But as you can imagine, Airsoft is a very expensive hobby which I'm thankful I have a career that allows me to afford it every now and then. My brother and I are about to start on our very first Airsoft experience and our loadouts are very much opposites from one another. I'm rocking NATO gear evidenced with the MK18 and Glock 19 (as mentioned earlier) while my brother is rocking an AK style rifle and Russian smersh tactical gear and whatnot. As much as we love each other as brothers, he will go the extra mile to be the opposite of me just for kicks which I'm 100% okay with. Heck I even showed support for it by buying him a red and white shemagh scarf because originally he wanted to look like a terrorist insurgent on our first game. Back to the storybook I'm writing, aside from the combat scenes which will definitely be expected for these characters, can you imagine a magical elf learning how to use 21st century technology such as cars and computers while a Viking-inspired Nordic warrior learns how to use modern weaponry? And then there's a thief who is adept with a bow learns how to use a compound bow for the first time? There will definitely be scenes like this throughout the story. And although the Nord warrior is not necessarily fond of using guns (which he calls them "magical crossbows") he is enthralled with modern day grenades like the M82 Flashbangs and M67 Fragmentation grenades.
I've been playing since the early 1980's and games were more about gameplay and fun than graphics. As devs identify things gamers like, they add it to their games and games become very similar, (GTA V has daily objectives so Ubisoft added daily challenges to some of their games). There have been some amazing AAA and indie games from Elden Ring, Starfield, Stalker 2 to games that completely surprised me and totally hooked me, like Dave the Diver and Satisfactory... But there has also been some less than epic games that cost me £45 and I uninstalled in hours. I think sometimes games are padded out with animations that can start to irritate and wear down the fun. Breakpoint is a perfect example... it IS a very good game but... In wildlands there are ammo crates, a vehicle wheel and you can set the time simply by clicking on the map.... BUT in Breakpoint, every time you need to access tactics, or the shop or change your vehicle you must travel to a bivouac and go through the animation, then another animation to select a preparation (booster) wildlands could just activate boosters. Also you must enter a bivouac ever hour to keep the booster running... and EVERY time you leave the bivouac you MUST go through the "time of day" option.... now the bivouac animation is not too annoying if you watch it 80 to 100 times but after 500 it is annoying and after a few thousand it destroys the fun of the game. Games should concentrate more on playing and less time in menus, I noticed in the Division after 50 hours of playing, I'd spent 26 hours in the hub trying to get a good loadout... I spend more time playing older games, simply because they have less irritating bits. :) Happy new year and happy gaming everyone
You put into words some thoughts I had but wasnt sure exactly how to say them. You are 100% on the money here. The opening portion of your second paragraph was lightbulb moment for me. I realize that so many things get in the way of ssome of these modern games being fun... That's part of why I've found myself playing more "older" games lately. It's like so many game devs drop the ball in the transition between one game to the next. Wildlands to breakpoint in a perfect example as you stated. I started playing wildlands last year and while some of the animations and movements are clunky compared to breakpoint, the world is AMAZING. NPCs and enemies have sleep and work cycles and the other things you mentioned. You hit another nail on the head too with the division lol. SO MUCH TIME IN MENUS! Haha I'm with you on the older games bit my friend and I'm loving it. Thanks so much for your breakdown and Happy New Year to you and your family!
I've been gaming since Pong, so yes I am old. For me, most of the newer stuff takes itself too seriously, and is hard to learn (might be my age talking there lol). I always go back to my old favorites. DayZ is probably my favorite game of all time. I still enjoy it, I played it since the ARMA2 mod days.
You know I've never played DayZ, i need to check it out. But i hear you 100%. Some of these games in the pursuit of "realism" forget to be fun lol... and they just keep getting in their own way. Thanks for watching!
Gaming today is a bit different now compared to the OG games out there, only a handful of games i found " fun and time killing" despite cosmetic and micro transactions present
All imma say with my 2c is that, this year should be the year that "saves" this console Gen. People don't remember how we were also pissed off with the ps4 gen for lack of games and year 3-4 did that for it, so 2025 has to be 🤷♂️. Helps that there's a new gta too, standards gonna be high
Yea I’m keeping my fingers crossed my friend. Hoping for a superb year of gaming. We had a few great surprises last year. Indiana Jones caught me off guard
Haha yea I do think so. Xbox is leading that for sure as Starfield may be going to the PS5. But also a lot of PS5 exclusives are coming to PC as well. I’m not complaining 😅
Hey Brandon, NO ADS Zoom updated is very straightforward. This is what you'll need to do. 1. Open Anvil Toolkit 2. Select Breakpoint 3. Go into your extracted Folder 4. Go into DataPC_patch_01.forge 5. Right below your "extracted" folder you should see a file named 0._-_Game Bootstrap Settings.data 6. Unpack that. It's a really big file so give it some time. 7. After that's unpacked minimize anvil and go into the game folder (where the exe is) 8. Head into the extracted folder, then DataPC_patch_01.forge, then extracted, then into 0._-_Game Bootstrap Settings.data 9. Extract the No ADS Zoom updated file and drag and drop the contents. If it asks you to overwrite/replace anything go ahead and do that. 10. After that's done, head back into anvil and repack 0._-_Game Bootstrap Settings.data and then repack DataPC_patch_01.forge I have never used the "Disable Cover System" mod. Try what I shared above and let me know if it works.
@@spaceanddelightsofcosmos9557 what’s funny is I’ve NEVER played that game 😅. Nor warzone, I guess I’m one of the privileged ones, but I get what you mean 1000%. They see how successful those game models are and everybody wants a slice of that cake
@SaltandPepperX what’s your Ubi name? I just got back into Division 2 and finally finished my Future Initiative build haha. I could use some help with making some progress in this season.

Wildlands is fun love it 😊
Haha indeed it is Anthony!
Steam sales ensure there’s no shortage of good games.
I've found some amazing gems over there for real.
Haha
I'm with you on the older games bit my friend and I'm loving it. Thanks so much for your breakdown and Happy New Year to you and your family!
@@kiekeyz Have a like and a subscription.
Agreed but List me a few of them. I’m always looking for decent games to play. Especially if I can grab them on a sale
2025 just started.
Indeed. The video is titled that way because it will no doubt be a question asked throughout the year. Thanks for watching.
He's just asking a rhetorical question in 2025, it's not that deep
We're just getting older..
I agree
All imma say with my 2c is that, this year should be the year that "saves" this console Gen. People don't remember how we were also pissed off with the ps4 gen for lack of games and year 3-4 did that for it, so 2025 has to be 🤷♂️. Helps that there's a new gta too, standards gonna be high
Yea I’m keeping my fingers crossed my friend. Hoping for a superb year of gaming. We had a few great surprises last year. Indiana Jones caught me off guard
@kiekeyz yeah I also heard about that Jones one, so do you think we're getting to a point where console exclusives won't be "exclusive" anymore
Haha yea I do think so. Xbox is leading that for sure as Starfield may be going to the PS5. But also a lot of PS5 exclusives are coming to PC as well. I’m not complaining 😅
Do a tutorial for the Various Tweaks No ADS Zoom Updated & Disabled cover system? I need dat shi ASAP for the playstyle I'm working on broski!!!
Hey Brandon, NO ADS Zoom updated is very straightforward. This is what you'll need to do.
1. Open Anvil Toolkit
2. Select Breakpoint
3. Go into your extracted Folder
4. Go into DataPC_patch_01.forge
5. Right below your "extracted" folder you should see a file named 0._-_Game Bootstrap Settings.data
6. Unpack that. It's a really big file so give it some time.
7. After that's unpacked minimize anvil and go into the game folder (where the exe is)
8. Head into the extracted folder, then DataPC_patch_01.forge, then extracted, then into 0._-_Game Bootstrap Settings.data
9. Extract the No ADS Zoom updated file and drag and drop the contents. If it asks you to overwrite/replace anything go ahead and do that.
10. After that's done, head back into anvil and repack 0._-_Game Bootstrap Settings.data and then repack DataPC_patch_01.forge
I have never used the "Disable Cover System" mod. Try what I shared above and let me know if it works.
Yo sigo jugando lo en 2025 y con amigos es mucho más divertido
Hola amigo, me encanta! Planeo jugar más con amigos en 2025
Fortnite ruined gaming as its rise made game companies greedy that they just made games to waste money and time 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@spaceanddelightsofcosmos9557 what’s funny is I’ve NEVER played that game 😅. Nor warzone, I guess I’m one of the privileged ones, but I get what you mean 1000%. They see how successful those game models are and everybody wants a slice of that cake
Feel free to add me in Ubisoft ;-)
@SaltandPepperX what’s your Ubi name? I just got back into Division 2 and finally finished my Future Initiative build haha. I could use some help with making some progress in this season.
@@kiekeyz I have 5 pc accounts for D2 lol but my main one is SaltandPepperX
@@kiekeyz If you use Steam i am the same user name on there too 🙂
@SaltandPepperX LOL 5 is crazy, but sure I'll add you on Ubi. Hopefully we can hop on together one of these days.
