I grew up in a house with southern knotty pine back in the 50's and 60's. I still remember how warm and happy the walls looked, especially when a fire was burning in the evening, with no lights, and the family just talking and recalling the events of the day. Can't buy that kind of contentment now days. I really like the cabin you are building Danny. Thanks for sharing.

Ah yes the traditional knotty pine,..nothing like the white pine finish in a cabin, to say your home and safe now, after a rough day in the woods or on the farm..it's absolutely the comfort food of cabin finishes...Excellent choice Danny, it will provide years of pleasure and enjoyment for your family.

I didn't know northern pine was different than southern so thanks for sharing that. I love the look of the northern pine! So beautiful!
My house has the same siding but is hand-cut and hand planed and nailed on the vaulted ceiling of my 221 year old house here in Maine and it has aged an awesome golden brown. You're gonna love how pretty your pine ages.

Fun stuff . I myself once installed couple thousand square feet of car siding to ceiling and probably half of the boards had to be bent into a straight board as I was installing it.
Sometimes you could bend by hand. Other times yeah to use two screws, pry bar and a block.

The ceiling looks great! Did you put more than one coat on the boards before you installed and if you did, did you sand in-between coats? I am doing my kitchen with this and was thinking of a couple of coats. Thanks for all the great content.

I grew up in a house with knotty pine don't know if it were white knotty pine back then I did not notice anything about my play
parents house or what it were made of it burn down five years ago wish i had it , now I am very interested in log cabinet ty

LOOKS GREAT! Just wondering what kind and type of sealer did you use. I have a 14x10 room knotty pine installed just need to finish and I love how yours looks..
Its a water based polycrylic clear coat.
Danny if you was doing a wall with this wood would you stagger the seams or keep them the same?
I would stagger it.
Love the vid and will be watching more. I'm going to do the same thing in living room. How many coats of Poly did you use? They recommend 3+ coats, but for a ceiling? Thanks.
We did 3 coats

Where did you find this product. I've been looking for cedar tounge and Grove and the big box stores carry a sub par product. We built a long home last year and I want to line the closets
