  • The do's and don'ts of crankcase breathers and PAIR valves. This video is to show in detail how many motorcycles have their crankcase breathers hooked up incorrectly due to misinformation on the internet. We show you the proper way to correct the problem on this Suzuki GSXR 1000. We also explain the dangers of having your crankcase breather routed to the wrong place. We in no way are recommending removing emissions components from your motorcycle.

    My problem is. I don't have the breather on my hayabusa engine because I've installed it in a ds650 bombardier atv. So now where did I connect the pair valve hose to ?

    What’s your opinion on leaving the pair valve system stock and just disconnecting your crankcase breather so it doesn’t recirculate dirty air into the air box. Kinda like a Kleen air mod but u don’t touch the pair valve. Will this effect how the bike runs. I know people who do the kleen air mod get ride of the smog system and run a strait black tube across the pair valve and block off that vacuum.

    Why can’t u just take the reeds out if you took pair valve system out so it can breath all the time hooked up to it. Ppl do this to wheelie and not get oil all over your air box. What’s the best solution.

    My 99 SRAD always has oil in the airbox to the point where it leaks out of the corner. Like alot. Why could that be?

  • @Young937phoenix
    @Young937phoenix 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Thanks for that because I was wondering when ppl did the air box mod why they wouldn’t just T off the valve cover so when your doing a long wheelie the oil would just go right back into the top of your engine. If your going to hook it up that way could you do a 4 way splitter and run the 4th hose up by your headlight with a small air filter so when your up at 12 if it suck any oil it goes back into your valve cover but also when throttle is closed it can suck air to? I know it isn’t factory but when bikes are being built they don’t think about when ppl have the bike up at 12 lol.

    Please help!!
    My Suzuki Hayabusa engine breather filter became like a sand particals and after sometime it got disappeared totally. Now I can see just a hole in the air filter box where that small breather was placed. Is there any problem without that??
    Also, these days I have noticed my bike is not idle. Rpm goes down while releasing the throttle. After few hours of riding, when it is warm. And also it backfires a lot when I release the clutch. Please tell me what is happening with that? Cant figure out the problem.

    Would this go for a 2009 Kawasaki zx6r too? Have oil all over my left boot and shifter after hitting high speeds... small trickles riding around town and when i check the oil level its not significantly low or anything.

    • @RedlinePowersports
      @RedlinePowersports  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, the pair valve system is a separate system from the oiling system when hooked up properly. If you have oil on your left boot, I would recommend checking out your output shaft seal, shift shaft seal or stator cover gasket. Hope this helps!

    My 2007 gsxr 600 has an idling issue sometimes even if the bike is warm, I've heard stuff about an idling hose that could be dirty but do not have an idea on where and how that works or even if it could be the problem, some say it can be the spark plugs but again I do not have much knowledge with these things, can you maybe help me

    • @RedlinePowersports

      Pair valve is a separate system but if there is a vacuum hose off in your throttle body system, that would cause a rough idle.

    Hi, I have a 2006 cbr600rr. When I got the bike, the normal pair system was working properly but, strange thing, the other pipe (the one coming also from the head of the engine, very close to the couple of reed valves), was closed... I assume this pipe is the one starting from the carter, but not sure at all...
    I put off the entire pair system (valve and pipes) and put the 2 metallic parts to close the reed valves.
    As consequence, I had oil pissing out of the gear selectors joint.
    Now I opened the pipe that was closed: is it okay like that ?

    My bike, is a vtwin, and is oil is pumping through the rear cilinder breath hose, i'm thinking about adapting a PCV Valve to the end of the hose so it can get rid of the Crank gas but not oil what you think about this, My bike doesnt smoke and has nice compression, SO it's weird

    • @RedlinePowersports
      @RedlinePowersports  ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it a Harley? Harleys don't have a PAIR valve system. They have a type of PCV valve inside your rocker cover called an umbrella valve so if you added one, you would be adding a valve on top of a valve. Sounds like that could be bad. Without seeing the bike, it's tough to diagnose.

    I am having issues locating where my Yamaha s max xc155 crankcase vents . I replaced frame and when I went to reconnect the hose I couldn’t find where it connected . I know it’s somewhere in radiator cap Vicinity. And Yamaha dealer here is a 4 month wait . If you can give me advice I would be most greatful

    • @RedlinePowersports
      @RedlinePowersports  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The crankcase will usually vent at the back of the engine or on top of the valve cover. (Don't confuse that with a pair valve though)

    if my suzuki does not have an air filter box, it has its air filters separately, where would that hose go?

    • @RedlinePowersports
      @RedlinePowersports  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like you are describing air filter pods. Short answer is your crankcase breather would normally go to the airbox but since there isn't one it would get another smaller "pod" and vent to atmosphere.

    • @RedlinePowersports
      @RedlinePowersports  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@445butty The breather should just go to the bottom of the airbox. What are you cleaning? Also check that your oil level is correct. Oil level should be checked upright and not on the side stand. Oil too high can cause oil foaming (very bad for the engine) and can cause oil vapor to end up going up the breather causing the burning you are mentioning.
