What's up man, fellow Long Islander here. Going to try and get a regi for my YZ250 thru DMV and then go the same route you did. Everyone always talks about the Vermont loophole, never heard about SD before. Thanks for the video 👍
Hey also in NY looking to convert a dirt bike to street legal, can you possibly give an update on if you were able to transfer the plate to a NY plate and possibly make a new post on here showing it. Hope you can help.
A buddy of mine I worked with bought a KTM 250 and had it street legal. Drove to and from work for 2 years before he got rid of it. And I live in Upstate NY.
I'm doing the same thing to my fse fat tire 190r pitster pro gpx, we almost have the same setup with the day time running lights blinkers on the folks and I'm from and live in NYC where they're cutting down on bikes that's not registered , what made it easy for me I ordered the tusk universal harness wire kit for like $40 , everything thing was a plug n play and I got a tusk battery kit for only like $35 and the battery is like one of those rc car battery that u can charge up, I'm just waiting for my mso for the bike so I can sent it to dirtlegal and on the road we go!!!..
So I just had a parking ticket enforcer and wannabe cop, call the cops on me for riding my bike down the block testing it after i just worked on it. The cop came saw the bike and wanted no part of it and left but this has made me want to see if I can make it street legal just to ride by the guys house daily revving it. Can a old 96 rm250 even be made street legal? im in upstate ny. I assume mine would never meet the exhaust standards.
@@montane_west I looked into them they aren’t bad to use for a moto I definitely wouldn’t take them off road though keep your stock wheels for that and you’ll be good and save around 7-800 lol
Hey wassup bro I also live in long island was thinking of buying a ktm 500 but idk if I'd be able to make it legal out here Would you be able to give me some insight?
When I bought my klx140, the dealer registered the bike in ATV, also gave me a license plate. So if I modify the parts, do I need to go dmv and transfer the license plate?
Honda Groms are street legal(125 cc). I believe they are actually registered as mopeds. Also they are prohibited on highways, but you can drive them all over any city or county road.
I'm in the same boat too recently tried at east orange MVC and they told me I need a title I thought all I needed was a bill of sale to get the plate I already have insurance using the VIN I'm getting the title from the store that sold it to me within a couple weeks hopefully your process works for me
Please help my out I can believe that can be possible Nice nice post I just subscribed to your Chanel I had a yzf 450 that got stolen from me house 4 month ago I want it to street legal it I’m ready to but a 2008 Kawasaki 450 wander if I can legal the bike What I should ask the person that is gonna sell me the bike I hope you answer back

@official315 NY, turn signals and a licence plate mount is all I think. He never got his licence, did it all on a permit

LETS GOOO🤙🏿🤙🏿🤙🏿
So South Dakota allows you to register a motorcycle even tho your a New York resident,???
Mhm
Does Nj follow the same guidelines?
I would think so but I’m not 100% sure
Did you get a street title? I heard ny state doesnt allow out of state registrations for ny residents
I got a title and all, been Pulled over, paid tickets and still ridin 💪🏿
@@montane_west tickets for speeding or because you have an out of state registration?
what you mean doesnt allow wtf they gonna do
if you get plates it doesnt matter what ny allows it makes u legal you can get insurance and reg from another state

I believe you can if you have the title or transferable registration.
