Another biased video about susake
Sakura does have a "something" but the issue is it's only ever highlighted as a gag and is rarely if ever applied in a fight. Sakura genuinely has super strength. We constantly see her pulverizing walls and launching Naruto into the sky but we don't don't see anyone else pull that off as a gag or seriously. Give her bigger, heavier kunai or have her throw regular ones so hard they break the sound barrier.

The last line u said is never gonna happen...the animators wont do that...in manga,when she receives her byakugou and punches the ground ,the impact was huge!!!the small creatures go flying above the air...but look at what we got in anime..a normal tsuande level punch...thid is just one example..i know sakura aint that great but the studio would deminish even the smallest things.

In fact, the only time the video in its 30 minutes touches upon the concept of Sakura killing Sasuke was a single sentence, in which the video creator SAYS "obviously Sakura shouldn't kill Sasuke," then goes on and on about generic Sakura development that I could find in hundreds of other videos, rather than go into detail about what the TITLE says.
Don't make a 30 min video titled "Sakura Should've KILLED Sasuke" , then only touch upon that concept in 1 single sentence, and that 1 sentence rescinding where you were going and literally saying Sakura shouldn't kill Sasuke.
This title is clickbait and false advertisement making me think at the end of the video that I wasted 30 mins of my time. Either expand on your concept or don't lie in your title.
My biggest problem with Sakura is that she never demanded respect from Sasuke and continued to love him for no reason. Terrible role model
yes, her obsession with Sasuke is annoying, even after all he did and how much he hurt her, once he show some minimal interest in her she falls for him immediately, she's even single mother and taking care of her daughter all alone and she's absolutely ok that Sasuke doesn't care about his family even that minimally to write her and their daughter a letter every once a while. The one thing i really liked from her from this theme is when team 7 reunited and she stepped in and I like the way she told them if they think that Tsunade was the only sanin that didn't train her student properly. But i'd like even more if she did more, like said them something like: Do you think that only men like you can really fight and women like me should only sit and watch? I show you. And then something like: Do you really think i'm still that stupid useless little girl that was hiding behind your back? Something to really put them in place. And then in Valley Of The End when she said Sasuke he's idiot after he said sorry, i wanted even more from her, i actually would love to see her put a big tantrum on him and punch him hardly after she heals him. And then i like to show how Sasuke actually started liking her and she actually refusing him and giving him hard time to fight for her. If Kishi wanted her make a role model to young girls, he should make her like this.

My problem is that she never really let sasuke have it! She should’ve realized sasuke was bad for her at least at the time and let him regret his actions. She always let him get his way. I did grow to love Sakura it’s just something that could’ve been better. If she was in the story more and was more relevant with actions like that she would be top tier.
The fact that she became so physically strong but didn't bother to reach out to Lee to sharpen her taijutsu speaks volumes
They really didn't want us to have Sakura/Lee at all. Cuz they needed him with Tenten. For real. I mean even Sasuke took from Lee as well as Naruto (tho that was in filler) so why didn't she do the same. -
It's all wasted potential bc apparently Kishimoto didn't think she was worthy enough to actually come up with all the suggestions everyone mentioned.
Sakura and Lee have two different styles, Sakura fights with heavy impact, trying to stay healthy where Lee was zooming around, willing to break his body. That is not the best style for a Medical Ninja.
Also if you're being trained by Tsunade, the 5th Hokage, why would you train with anyone else?

@@NeoXtreme_Gaming To sure up your weaknesses. Hell, Tsunade probably should have come up with her and Lee sparring. Because Lee wasn't up to anything else and it would have brought him (a fan favorite character) back into the story and it doesn't have to change anything in the plot. As for their different styles, Lee doesn't have superhuman strength, so he uses speed to make his impacts heavy. Sakura just being able to do that means she should be able to have speed specifically as a mobility measure to keep herself safe and to keep pressure on her opponents.
And them sparring together would have set us up for Night Guy or Lee to be Night Guy in this timeline. Lee trains with Sakura and thus gets stronger. Sakura trains with Lee to get faster. It being Lee then instead of Guy sort of writes itself. Especially if we use the Sakura gets to heal everyone instead of Naruto play, because then Sakura gets to heal a Lee that almost dies from the Eight Gates, a guy who is a friend and they even trained together. He's saved her life in the past, and now she gets to return the favor.
Damn. After hearing all these options, it actually made me angry at how much potential Sakura had. She had a lot of potential in the beginning, like genjutsu and stuff. But Kishimoto decided to hide that under the rug. She is not the only one though. I think Hinata for example needed to be rewritten. These women are ninja. Doesn't make sense that they never take the center stage once in a while. I hope he doesnt ruin Sarada.

I once read a fanfic where Sakura was trained by Kakashi in basic fire jutsu and she innovated by herself and made a style based around bluffing people with genjutsu and flashy looking fire attacks. I never stop thinking about how much more likeable that Sakura was

That's actually more of a cultural thing in Japan when it comes to the Mizukage. In Japan, women tend to actually really want to settle down and get married by their mid to late 20s at the latest. So that's that for that character. As for the others, you're not entirely wrong lol.

Her academic scores were the best out of the three. She may not be the most talented when it comes to battle, but her academics show us that she is smart enough and is a dedicated student. I read a fanfic/snippet where someone had Sakura being able to do what the Hyuga's Byakugan/Gentle Fist can do by just memorizing all of the pressure points on the body, which helped boost her offense and medical prowess. Then there was one where Sakura did become a master of genjutsu, but specifically for breaking others' genjutsu.

Sasuke figured it out the quickest. Answered all the questions? There's no proof in canon manga that she answered even a single one correctly, when naruto passed with a blank sheet of paper.
Ino got above her through cheating? What are you even talking about? The chunin exam tests ended in orochimaru's attack on leaf. Only sasuke and shikamaru were declared chunin. The rest of them failed.
Man the thought of Sakura being included in the hagoromo meeting and getting recognized by the sage of six paths. That shit made me tear up a little.
Imagine if he gave her an amph like he did Naruto and Sasuke. Even if it was lower? It just doesn’t make sense how’s she supposed to be a mc ,yet she feels like a side character. Deserved more power ups she got one power up and she became one of the strongest shinobi’s. Sasuke and Naruto got multiple amphs and power ups. Kinda not fair.

Ehh that wouldn't make sense. Mostly bc now you have the problem of anyone who had a good showing in the war should also get a power up. Also it would mess up the whole ongoing conflict thing of Indra/Madara stuff. Bc now Hargoromo should have just given power to more people and in the war arc has a bunch of promising candidates. Also Hargoromo doesn't really care about the war. He cares about the ongoing conflict between his sons and Kaguya. If he now cares about the conflict with ninjas, you have the problem of him not doing anything.

Anyway, the whole complaint is that Sakura is written like a side character but she’s supposed to be a main character.
@@ksenia5199 What I said makes perfect sense. With your own logic Tsunade also deserves a power-up and Hagoromo's role in the story completely changes and should have stopped the war in the beginning.
I think people are overplaying how useless Sakura is. She helped when the 10 tails went crazy and when fighting Kaguya. I do agree that she should of had a larger role, but she did have great moments and grew as the story went on.
Have all 3 women that have greatly contributed in her life as stepping stones, Tsunade for the heals and strength obviously, Kurenai for the genjutsu and Granny Chiyo to spark the idea of the long distance healing jutsu in the form of puppet strings

@@macaulaywilliams9199 yea but with that you have to summon lady katsuyu and as far as I know it's just general healing, not being able to do operations. Another possibility would be learning puppet master jutsu to use the puppets as operation tools to work on multiple patients at the same time

I find it odd hinata never learned genjutsu stuff from kurenai but sakura knows how to break it unless it's a sharingan
As for the Sasuke vs Sakura fight, have her be fighting and protecting Karin at the same time. Perfect way to encapsulate her as the brawler/healer character. Lots of fun scenarios that could be played with. Sakura gets an opening, but she has to choose between that or saving Karin etc. etc
would have had been nice to see sakura fight sasuke in close combat. there were only three moments she shined in close combat and a battle with sasuke in the ultimate storm games.

personally, i would’ve liked it if Sakura trained with Lee and Guy as well as Tsunade during the time skip - the combination of 100 healings and the 8 gates would’ve been OP + it matches Sakura’s fighting style + It could set up a potential relationship between Sakura and Lee (sakura ending up with sasuke was never something I liked)
8 Gates is out of the question because she doesn't train as intensely as the bowl hair bozos do.

I love Sakura - she was my FAVORITE character growing up, but to be honest, I recognize that I do not love the Sakura that Kishimoto actually wrote, I fell in love with her potential. So much of what was supposed to be her greatest development, like you said, was completely off screen or said, not shown. And that drives me INSANE. I think your rewrite was spot on and gives her character much more life and agency.
I can just imagine how amazing it would have been to see her demolish her classmates academically (like she apparently did), or to see her undergo brutual medical training and come to terms with comrades dying, spar against Rock Lee to show off her taijustu powers, or acting as an assasin while making it look like a natural death. THE POTENTIAL WAS THERE!!
I want my pink badass doctor ninja who came from nothing. She really could have been the perfect juxtaposition to her teammates who were born with god-like powers. You don't have to be born into greatest to achieve great strength (aka the beauty of Rock Lee's character - we know you know how to do it, Kishimoto)
And don't even get me started on how layered, angsty, and emotionally healing it would have been to see her actually talk and reconcile with Sasuke rather than just time skip "poof love you too" ... They live in a society that teaches 12 year olds to kill, I don't think them actually falling in love is out of the question even after they tried to kill each other a number of times
TBH, I blamed Kishimoto for his lack of development on the so-called heroine. Not to mention, her inflation on Sasuke is still really irking and infuriating.
I really understand this. This is why I love Sakura too. But it’s hard sometimes, because the author really gave her almost nothing visible.
This is my same felling, she was an amazing potential throwout the window -.-; but Kishi pretty much kill her, did not allow her to grow... Naruto could have been SO MUCH MORE, insted... we got, what we got...

Having Sakura be an expert on genjustu would have been a great compliment to team 7 and for her healing abilities too. It would also separate her from tsunade as not only she can heal physical wounds but also be able to heal the mind.
I agree that Sakura should have learned genjutsu. But wanted to point out that Tsunade effectively healed Sasuke's mind when he was in a coma after Itachi's Tsukuyomi. That could have been a big inspiring moment for Sakura to want to be trained by Tsunade right away.
Let's not forget, if she's so fixated on Sasuke and his greatest enemy is a Genjutsu master, you'd think she'd be motivated to expand on that to help him

Reminder that Sakura (allegedly) has a Water and Earth elemental affinity
She could've learned Zabuza's water dragon attack from Kakashi and make it one of her signature moves, (the perfect counter to Sasuke's Fireballs)
Also she could've learned to use Stone Walls to protect and quickly heal her teammates without being vulnerable
and with her precise chakra control, maybe even gained access to wood release - as it's a combination of water and earth releases.
@@KarlosM12923 You can't just learn wood release, it's bound to DNA that's why we only saw Yamato having it due to genetic experiments which took the lives of dozens of other kids, the rest gained access due to the white zetsu body parts which were hashirama cells. Giving it to Sakura because she is good with the 2 elements would undermine the whole concept of wood release especially since we have a lot of characters who mastered every element without being able to have access to kekkei genkais that come with these elements.
@@brotbrotsen1100 yes, that is true , though in data book, Moegi has the wood release. Many factors may be in play like she is a descendant of the first hokage and stuff, but if not, we can assume that anyone with water and earth releases can use wood style to a certain level :)
She'd probably have to be taught a much less powerful version of the water dragon move, since she(allegedly) doesn't have a lot of chakra to work with, but both of these suggestions are further examples of how thoroughly shafted Sakura was in terms of power.
Given the "elemental rock-paper-scissors" system that's(allegedly) inherent to nature transformations, it'd definitely be interesting if *BOTH* Naruto & Sakura had one that could counter Sasuke's... However, with how much of a creator's pet Sasuke became, as well as how much Kishimoto was beholden to Shonen Jump's(rigged) popularity polls, that clearly wasn't allowed to happen.
Plus, I don't think it was a coincidence that Sasuke seemed to start almost exclusively using lightning-based elemental jutsus from the Chunin Exams onward...

This video made me a lot angrier than I anticipated. I had forgotten all the frustration about the abandoned potential of Sakura. Loved the War Arc rewrite, looking forward to this series! I have a feeling it's going to be very cathartic 😂
To really think about she really had no potential to be where she is at...she was a normal ninja with no back story and a good up bringing ....to be for real she expanded her potential more then expected...

@@BARALover96 who said anything about dark past...when i said back story...she wasn't an uzumaki an Uchiha or senju...not even a lower rank clan...just a regular ninja.... so for her to get what she did is over extending...
What ticks me off about Sakura is how many parallels she had with Lee that just weren't used. Both came from civilian ranks and were genin with no particular talent, and Kishimoto has said both their designs were made to represent human weakness, the only difference being Lee was ambitious and got to where he was during the chunin exams through hard work, and watching his display of strength made Sakura gain a lot of respect for him. That was such an interesting development, but Kishimoto just completely forgot about their bond during Shippuden. There should've been more to it, like, if it were up to me I'd make it so that Sakura actually wants to become a medical ninja after seeing how Tsunade fixed Lee's legs, and beginning to look up to her for having helped her friend. Sakura's main specialty combat-wise is taijutsu, so it would've been cool if she actually began training with Lee throughout the two year time skip as well as with Tsunade, since I think she'd find it easier to relate to someone like her: both hopeless romantics with no significant talent, but an incredible mental fortitude and willingness to change. Maybe. throughout Shippuden, she could unlock the 8 gates, giving her a massive edge in combat
Well, Lee's dad was a ninja, but otherwise, I totally agree.
I could see Sakura learning 1st and 2nd gates (like Kakashi) to gain full control of her strength while Lee gets help with chakra control: learning how to walk on water, climb trees, break genjutsu, maybe infuse his muscles to make his gate usage more efficient.

@@jbark678 Lee can do that stuff. Lee's problem isn't chakra control, its the ability to shape chakra. And I could see Sakura helping him get around that. Like I could see Lee not being able to do actual ninjustu, but Sakura helps him learn to emit the chakra as an attack. Maybe something in the neighborhood of a blast or something. But make it dangerous, so its Lee's last effort. Maybe even have him win a fight with it to save someone's life only for Sakura to fix him up afterward while telling him he was being reckless for actually using it. XD

One of Sakura's biggest sins was when Sasuke was leaving the leaf village. When she couldn't convince him, she asked to go with him ... WTF! She was willing to become a rogue shinobi for a guy who had never showed any affection to her, who was going to a terrorist who wanted to destroy her village where all her parents, friends/family live. That is a very badly written character trait for a simp move.
The thing is that Sasuke did love sakura the data books even go as far as to state she was the one who showed him what love was I think it would’ve been better if sasuke hesitated and thought about staying with Sakura or even better he decides to keep in touch with her about what was he doing during the time skip

Kishi really doesn't know how to write romantic moments
Few ideas:
1. Sakura could've had a Genjutstu technique that 'disturbs the opponents Chakra' and weakens Ninjutsu or altogether prevents them from using it by disturbing their chakra mid-cast.
2. Sakura is a prodigious medical ninja with great knowledge of poisons and a talent for Genjutsu. She could have a technique that causes opponents to generate a poison within themselves (lactic acid, or bile, or stomach acid) that basically kills them from the inside.
3. Sakura probably does not have big enough chakra to achieve even a partial sage mode. But, given her extreme chakra control, she could have used Katsuyu (assuming that slug sage mode is a thing and Katsuyu could be a conduit for it like fukasaku and shima) to channel Nature Energy into targets to 'slugify' them or even store the Nature Energy into ninja tools that she could expend later (like Rin's gems from the Fate series)
4. Sakura maybe could 'suppress' her own Chakra such that even sensory ninjas will not be able to detect her presence. This level of stealth gives her a strategic advantage in battle, like Mu.
5. This is the higher end of her power - Sakura could have developed a 'Genjutsu Sealing Jutsu' where she can seal a target's consciousness and mental energy inside a Genjutsu world at the cost of needing to seal herself into jutsu as well. This would be the ultimate 'impasse' jutsu as within the Genjutsu world, neither party can take damage/die and the 'sealing' aspect would prevent anyone other than Sakura from undoing the jutsu. The jutsu could also funnel both parties' mental energy to stay activated, which means that the only natural 'end' of the jutsu would be the 'death' of both parties' consciousness. Maybe she could have developed this as her trump card to either lock away a rampaging Naruto or an evil Sasuke (considering her story motivations)
The last one is mad dude!
These are all great. Another one I'd add to your list is casting genjutsu to make her opponent think they're still fighting while she's healing hurt shinobi on the battlefield. Hell, she could even use the genjutsu as a distraction to pound her opponent and leave them for dead, or retrieve information in their brains during intelligence missions.
Sakura should have a genjustu of her inner avatar in part one and use it after the time skip on Sasori to be honest.
Her chakra reserve wasn't measly. Much larger than average shinobi even if she was born to non-shinobi . She constantly keeps a part of her chakra aside to fill in for Byakagou, when the seal is complete, she can use her full chakra to pulverize everything within at least 500 m , in the manga , a hit to the ground caused the tiny juubis to go flying in the air in every direction. If Minato could use a little bit of Senjutsu, Sakura could do that too . We have seen Jiraiya becoming kinda like a frog because his chakra reserve wasn't that great but he uses toad-like features to his advantage ( spilling toad oils or corrosives , throwing spines everywhere). Sakura could turn partially into a slug , so attacks like Chidori or Susanoo blade could just slip in and out like in slime , without doing actual damage ; instead of offensive move , it becomes a defensive move and enhances her and others' regeneration. She doesn't need to be the GOAT , but she can be the best in her field. We find her later curing several sick people for free , and devotes her life to humanitarian causes . But God forbid if a woman does anything good in a battle Shonen .

She trains with the hokage, where she has access to all kinds of scrolls. She is very proficient with chakra controll. She knows she has to fight an Uchiha. If only there was a scroll in Konoha with a "forbiden" jutsu very difficult to use made specifically to fight the Sharingan.

If Sakura learned flying thunder god she would’ve been a whole other beast. Never thought of the combo. She definitely deserved something else special like thunder god. Naruto and Sasuke got excessive amphs and hax and all Sakura got was her byagou/100 healings. The rest was raw training . Kinda not fair IMO.
If she did, her kunai would finally be usefull to attack something other than her own hair...
It's also something Kakashi could've passed down to her. He taught Sasuke Chidori and taught Naruto elemental manipulation/how-to-build-new-jutsu, both things he got from Minato. (Or, at least, from trying to create his own Rasengan-style attack ala Minato.)
Flying Thunder God could have easily been a thing he could have explained to Sakura. Stating he knows the theory from his sensei (he can seal Sasuke's curse mark so Minato taught him *something*) but doesn't have the chakra control to use.
Sakura could train with Genma and Raido the way Naruto eventually goes to Azuma. But just the act of Kakashi introducing it to her would make for a nice connection for all-the-years of Team 7.

Ikr it’s such a BS excuse it’s like saying well idk how to write this character any character below the weight of 150 lbs or any pigment lighter than caramel as if some arbitrary set of traits decides how the character is supposed to be written. I know for sure that Kishi is sexist and places a lot of stock in genetics. All of his most powerful characters either have the Otsutski genetics or have them implanted somehow. Sakura is an example of how far you can go without those genetics and the answer that Kishi gave us through her is not very far. He really must think the genetics of women make them cheerleaders, damsels, healers, mothers, and all with a penchant for nagging and taking abuse/cold shoulders from the men they’re obsessed with. Damsels, mothers, healers, and cheerleaders are not bad inherently it’s just bad when it’s clear that he thinks female must mean they have to be one of those things. Tenten was the only one who really focused on being a great Kunoichi but she ended up just becoming a shopkeeper

I fully think that Kishimoto had never actually met a real woman when he wrote naruto. Cause there is no way that he royally screwed up 99.9% of the female characters in it. This was a great video cause it's not hard to rewrite a character when they're this poorly done. Somebody just has to take the time to do it

Also gonna clarify on the sakura and Chiyo fight with Sasori. Sakura had strings to her in the beginning but towards middle and end she was on her own dodging because she recognized patterns. I think it was a whole think that she doesn’t have movement reading like Sasuke but she’s very capable of understanding patterns in attack after a while. Which they really should have done more with

Exactly. It was as thought Chiyo was helping lend her expertise since she knows more about Sasori and his capabilities than probably anyone else. I felt that the fight was a 50/50 contribution. Neither of them could kill Sasori alone, but together they accentuate each other's strengths and help compensate for each other's weaknesses.

I hate how no one really realizes the absolute potential Sakura could have had through taijutsu. As a medical ninja she had the potential to reach closer to Uzumakis level healing which could have been used to constantly break and build her muscles while eradicating fatigue. An increase in her base forms strength would exponential raise the potential of her technique.
with the genjutsu + healing, sakura might have been able to popularize medication with anesthetic by putting injured people on genjutsu while she is healing them or because of her anatomical knowledge she could put allies on genjutsu and basically make them war machines that doesnt feel pain or feel scared.

Long range medical ninjutsu for Sakura would be really interesting. Maybe she gets inspired by granny chiyos puppet jutsu and her sacrifice for naruto and uses puppet chakra strings to provide long range healing.

yes, I think this would be more interesting, since she can already do long distance healing with Katsuyu
Things need to be changed about Sakura:
1. Give her some at least decent backstory, not only because of her big forehead kids were bullying her.
2. Give her actual goal, give her some real motivations and reason why she's even ninja.
3. Change the end of her friendship with Ino and their rivalry over Sasuke.
4. Change her annoying obsession with Sasuke, she can have huge crush on him, but not her being absolutely obsessed with him that much that she was thinking about betraying her village and saying that without him her life has no matter.
5. Change her being absolutely useless damsel in distress in part 1 and only talking how she wants to be stronger but doing nothing.
6. Not making her only Tsunade 2.0 but flatter, give her something more, give her some background in genjutsu, she has water, earth and fire elements chakra, give her some training in ninjutsu. Let her show more her medical ninjutsu. Give her her own special jutsu.
7. Show more her friendship with Naruto, she's most of the time quite rude to Naruto, we only got very few friendship moments from them.
Change these things and she'll be everybody's favorite character.

Have create like poison fire, pink fire, and white fire. Pink could be her unique healing flame. White could be her offensive fire. Flames hotter than Amaterasu. Be Sakura the Burning Fist. Have her create a healing jutsu on the level of Dende and partial Majin Buu with being able to regenerate limbs and organs recently destroyed. Since Naruto has Rasengan and Sasuke Chidori give her an incinerating fist. They'd be a circle of strength.
I disagree..her charecter although unintentionally was written perfectly in og(manga version)...only person with a family in a grp of orphans,no sad backstory among a grp of sad backstories,no special clan among a grp of special clans,no goals in a grp of full goald,great at studies sucked at practicals/battlefield..the real issue is she didnt get enough development in shippuden...she should have become besties with ino,she shoulf have got 1 more battle,she should have wanted sasuke back like kakashi and naruto without any love thing(hidden feelings would be fine..so she can express it when sasuke finally turns good)..she should have become like orochimaru in medical field..etc..she should have been the biggest supporter for kakashi and naruto as she is the only one without trauma.

@@helena1425 i agree in part 1 she was written perfectly, i only wish that we saw her little work on herself, like after chunnin exams give her that little training in genjutsu. She would be still quite useless but at least we could so she's working on herself. Beginning of Shippuden was great for her, i think if they gave her more moments than only Sasori battle and we could see even more from her people would like her much more. Her development was too slow.

Honestly, it makes me so angry to see both Sakura and Hinata and how they're characters ended up. Both were respectable Shinobi in their own right but ended up being boiled down to "the main characters wives" but in that regard Sakura ended up way worse. She has a crush on a guy who's dark and mysterious when she's a child, somehow doesn't grow out of it even when that guy becomes a murderer and an international criminal/terrorist, then goes on to become this terrorists wife even though he's only home once every few months and barely talks to her when he is home. Not once is she given an opportunity to develop her character, grow from her experiences, or simply have her own motivations.

I really like the idea of having her use genjitsu as a way to buff her allies. She could have the ability to manipulate the chakra flow of others (much like how genjitsu supposedly works in the first place) to allow her, for instance, to distance heal (as mentioned in the vid). But also to enhance physical abilities and maybe even resistances. Hell, she could use genjitsu in other beneficial ways to enhance moral, reduce fear, or even as a way to communicate silently at a distance.
Also, why couldn't she (and perhaps other genjitsu users) be able to do a counter genjitsu at a distance when their allies get affected?
Basically, give her a buffer/healer/support power set similar to Wendy from "Fairy Tail."
Also give her the Eight Gates. But that is obvious and long been said.
Why take away the only unique ability Guy and Rock lee have? No one else should get eight gates.

Everything that you said in this video is everything I wanted for Sakura. It was so disappointing to see her character depicted so poorly, ESPECIALLY when she still chose Sasuke in the end after he was awful to her and TRIED TO KILL HER. (She should've chosen Lee smh.) Okay, so I actually agree with you, and Sakura did have an immense amount of potential, and I do like how you went about it, but an interesting thing I would have added would be a small change that would've made it that much more impactful, and add to why she became strong, and why she became a healer. I would've had her kill the sound ninja that grabbed her hair(I think her name was Rin?) Like, instead of her cutting off her hair and just try and get away, have her turn while her opponent was off balance and drive the kunai right under her ribs, or trip her and drive it into her windpipe as she falls. Make Sakura watch the life drain from this girl's eyes as she is powerless to do so. It would make her the first on her team to have taken a life. After that, have her trying to cope with the fact that she took a life. Have her talk with Kakashi about it. Have him tell her that if she really doesn't want to take another life, if she really doesn't want to have to watch another person die, then she needs to get stronger. Then she has a motivation to get strong, and later a motivation to learn to heal people. It could also add to the conflict with Sasuke, where she decides he's too far gone, and it becomes a battle where she has multiple opportunities to kill them, but only injures him further. It would come down to her not wanting to kill again. It wouldn't be her still loving him despite everything he did to her. It would be her not wanting to kill him. At the end of the fight, you could even have her look at Sasuke, injured beyond belief as Obito teleports him out of there, and tell him that he wasn't even worth killing. He wasn't worth her throwing away her own morals. Basically, this only changes her motivation to get stronger. Note, as I write this, I'm not just wanting to write a fan fic like this. Could be fun. Anyways, hope you have a nice day or night wherever you are.
A strange idea: Sakura could have learned how to use Chakra Threads and she incorporates that into her medical techniques for healing multiple people at the same time. A bit of a stretch, but I think it could work after Naruto saves Gaara, or even during the time-skip when Naruto starts training with Jiraiya.
I think it would've been so badass if Sakura almost killed Sasuke after his fight with Danzo. Just as shes about to finish him, Kakashi stops her and then while shes distacted with Kakashi, Sasuke gets an opening to where she is still saved by Naruto. Idk if you said it in the video. Lol

I'm definitely with you on that. She's been Queen Useless due to writing. The only thing that's good is they can still make a change to her in Boruto. They've made her extremely strong, now make her a main again and we should be on a roll.

Besides her 2 screen time occasions, we never get to see Sakura display her true strength in any ways that could develope her character. Her missing in action is just as important to missing her development as her not having true screen feats, solo feats or any sense of how powerful she is towards the regards of other characters passed group ranking and speculation. Makes perfect sense for her in this rewrite to attack sasuke, after sasuke beat danzo she assessed that a fight had just happened and regardless of how strong she remembered sasuke to be she knew he's low on chakra and exhausted; really puts into perspective that she's able to assess situations on what had transpired without anyone telling her
I never understood how Sakura could be so strong but never concentrated her chakra to her legs to literally jump across an entire village or propel herself off walls at extremely fast speeds. Kinda like deku in mha
As far as unique skills sakura could have learned in your scenario, I think she could have found a way to mix genjutsu and healing. Basically like tricking the body into thinking it's getting better and also healing it. It could have even gotten into more detail with sakura healing people with PTSD.

It could actually be a reverse of what Yakima did in the filler. Instead of the genjutsu tricking the body and making physical damage, it would stimulate the body to heal faster
In terms of her taijustu and physical strength I wish she would've gotten like a slug sage mode, it could make her super slow but increase the amount of damage she inflicts. That combined with her incredible healing ability she would the the ultimate tank

One other thing about Sakura, it would have been interesting for her to learn something from each of the Konoha 13 as well as the senseis (weapon training with Tenten, taijutsu training with Lee and Guy, Kiba, and Choji, genjutsu training with Kurenai, etc.) That would further prove the Haguromo saying that she represents the idealism of Ninshu

I want to add something to this rewrite, let Sakura be a master of Fuinjutsu. Not only does it require creative and strategic thinking, but it also helps cover her major disadvantage of small chakra reserves. Come in prepared with an arsenal of sealed jutsus and use them after running out of chakra, and let her create her own clan.
They were trying to recreate the sannin by having each tutor one. I don't think Sakura could have found access to a fuinjutsu master.

Since so much about her is her crushes and "who is Sakura gonna end up with", to the point where she's not really considered her own person. Just who's arm candy is she gonna be. Should she be with Sasuke? Naruto? Lee?

I always thought similarly for Ino. I felt that both her and Sakura should both have the Strength of a Hundred Seal, Ino develops offensive telepathic abilities and masters genjutsu with Kurenai and Sakura, and then Sakura and Ino could have been literal perfect partners on battlefields. When both of them are with Tsunade, they could then summon more Katsuyu. I felt that Ino should have always been "the genjutsu type" in the Konoha 13 given her mind hacking abilities. Kishi just did not know how to write women lol. Imagine both Sakura and Ino backing each other up in the battlefield on completely perpendicular terms? They'd have similar abilities, but hypothetically Sakura could use an external genjutsu to bind a foe and then Ino could Mind Transfer into them to do an advanced interrogation of some sort, where Ino's transferred mind could cast a Genjutsu on the enemy's mind to make an easier interrogation effort. If Ino had gotten similar abilities to Sakura, they would have complemented each other PERFECTLY.

I think the whole point was giving Sakura her own things, and making Sakura the direct disciple, like how Naruto is Jiraiya’s and Sasuke is Oro’s. It would kind of ruin the whole second gen deadlock thing if Ino got Byakugou, thats why Shizune didnt learn it either

I feel like their teamwork should be so much better. I feel like Tsunade's legacy should be passed on to Sakura AND Ino rather than just Sakura. Summoning Katsuyu seems to be underwritten with the subtle premise of being a huge collaboration ninjutsu. Passing Byakuguo to both of them just feels more sensible to me personally!

@@henrywang6202 I respect you opinion! Let me say how I would've wanted it: I would make the Haruno Clan the one with the flower store, emphasizing that they are not a ninja clan. Sakura would know all about flowers, and Ino would be very interested in flowers. They would both learn flower & earth based ninjutsu & genjutsu (possibly under Sensei Kurenai). However, I'd let Ino be better at genjutsu as she takes the darker side of combining it with her Yamanaka abilities. Sakura and Ino would have many disagreements about her abusing her Yamanaka abilities. This would also be a struggle as they take on medical ninjutsu, where Sakura shines more than Ino with her healing ability, but Ino uses the knowledge to influence cognitive health, once again abusing her Yamanaka prowess. Sakura would go on to get Byakugou, as she leans into taijutsu more and shines in chakra control. Ino would become unstoppable in her mind ninjutsu, similar to an Eida. Sakura and anyone with a Rinnegan would be the only ones able to stop Ino.
i especially hate how she was given the mental fortitude to break ino's mind control jutsu but then she can't process a single rational thought in front of Sasuke. Or that during the war arc she was suddenly too indecisive to stab out obito's eye when he asked her to despite being calm enough to manually palptitate Naruto's heart with her hand right before that

I’ve always thought that a really cool way of giving Sakura time to shine would have been to let her have a fight with Kabuto, who almost functions as a foil to Sakura’s character. He is what would happen if you’re a medical ninja but not for good; a medical ninja for tainted ideals. It would have been super epic, and I think Kishimoto could have dabbled more in that 😔
22:05 That's a great idea. Imagine if Sakura was fighting to kill Sasuke, used a jutsu that she created to heal Karin at a long distance (which would drain her chakra) and give Sasuke an advantage. After Sakura is knocked down and Sasuke is preparing the finishing blow, his eye begins to hurt him terribly, which would lower his guard for Karin to come in and stab him. Sakura could give the finishing blow after some heartfelt last words to her former comrade. The war would start immediately after. Of course, Sasuke would be reincarnated, and that could still keep the series on track with the ending and all. The last battle could be Naruto fighting a reincarnated Sasuke, and him doing the impossible with defeating him in an undead state.
Someone mentioned Sage Jutsu from other Great Sages like Katsuyu the slug. Which she’s technically immortal and hard to kill even. You know how slugs have a mucus like consistency on them? What’s if Sakura learned Sage Jutsu (and as nasty as that sounds) have the same consistency on her skin that would make her immune to any fire… like say Amaterasu. It’d just burn the mucus like substance off of her and not her. That would change the game so much. The concept isn’t impossible either since this is the Naruto universe we are talking about
It will be so satisfying to see her accept the gross aspects of Senjutsu. Jiraiya could look like a toad but used his toad features to use toad oil flame , hair needles , corrosives. Sakura could partially turn into a slimy slug , which can be perforated by attacks but just heal the next moment, or use that mucous thingy like some water-style Jutsu . She would have to give up on looking appealing but she accepts and masters this new power . Jiraiya could seal Amaterasu flames using Senjutsu, Sakura could shed off a slime of mucus and skin after being hit ; would be so gross yet cool to watch.

Sakura has got to be one of my most intense love/hate relationships when it comes to a character. Like the video says she has SO MUCH POTENTIAL but it is NEVER demonstrated and instead if left with empty promises of getting better or simply half-cooked ideas that are never fully developed. In my mind, I want to think that Naruto represents Creation/Birth, Sasuke represents Destruction/Death and Sakura represents Healing/Connection.
We see Naruto breaking cycles over and over again, challenging other people's beliefs when they go against the type of morals that Naruto believes about helping other people, never leaving your friends behind, and being a good person, he is the embodiment of what a protagonist, to the point, that he NEVER GIVES UP his sight of light even when other people push, mock, or underestimate him. Sasuke always has his sight on destruction and revenge and killing his brother, hell, the entire Uchiha Massacre is proof that this kid is surrounded by death until the point that he loses Itachi, the whole reason why he turned his back on Konoha, his friends, and Team Seven.
Sakura, on the other hand, would be the perfect embodiment of healing and connection if we also take into consideration that she is a civilian, doesn't have a clan name, and has practically no physical strength in the beginning. The fact that she is a civilian would help out so much for her character development. In the beginning, we see her kind of like Hermione Granger where everyone thinks she is smart and clever, HOWEVER, she just knows these things BY THE BOOK! In the beginning, when Sakura gets a first-hand experience of what it means like to be a shinobi and have to face an enemy that can kill you, like the fight with Zabuza and the Chunin Exams in the forest when Naruto and Sasuke and unconscious and even the results of the Pursuit for Sasuke to bring him back, all of these are proof, things of what she can see that is reality when things in books don't go right.
Now, this is where Tsunade would come in. Yes, she would still teach Sakura how to grow strong, heal, and become an excellent medic ninja. As mentioned in the video she would grow curious and want to learn and expand her knowledge in healing but at the same time keep her super strength as a kunoichi. This is where her relationship with her parents would also come in. It is practically known, and even highly used by creators, that the main protagonist, antagonist, or hell even a side character DOES NOT GET TO HAVE BOTH OR ANY PARENT. Naruto lost his parents at a young age to the point that he does not have memories of them, Sasuke lost his family in a horrible event and grew away from his family, and even Kakashi grew up without his family. These three grew isolated from one thing or another. They know what it's like having to grow up without their family, but Sakura doesn't.
She still has her parents.
This is where the connection part, along with a reason to fight and heal comes together. Sakura sees the effects of what being alone without her family is like from Team 7, and she sees what damage the war does to her fellow comrades who are not just adults but also the same age as her who DO HAVE training. I want to see her grow afraid of losing them, because she actually HAS THEM TO LOSE, SOMETHING TO RISK. I want to see her come home and lie to her supportive and happy civilian parents after a bad mission, or when she loses a patient, and lie to them or sugarcoat it. I want to see the civilian version of Konoha. I want to see her help civilians who don't have the Knooha version of medical aid and can't afford treatments. Listening to how the civilians see the shinobi life vs how the shinobi see the civilian life and creating a bridge between these two groups.
I want to see her interact with the rest of the Konoha 13 when she is training to get stronger and let us see part of each team as kids. Not genin, chunin, or jonin, but just regular kids. I want to see generational traumas, and toxic traditions, being broken down by this girl who has a healthy relationship with her parents that is untouched by the war. She would heal things that these clans have refused to talk or deal with because it is simply something that a clan must do for the sake of their clan name and Konoha as if they were only soldiers. It would make sense because she is the only one of them who STAYED IN KONOHA for these relationships to grow. Which, if you think about it would also help Kakashi and Sasuke also heal and drop the burden that is being HATAKE Kakashi, and UCHIHA Sasuke. Meanwhile, Naruto would have someone to heal as a victim of war who lost his parents and maybe even the adults would apologize, talk things over, or somehow acknowledge that the way they treated him as a kid was wrong.
Also! During the time when she is training and learning with Tsunade, I want Sakura to go on missions where only Tsunade could help, a pandemic with no cure, the after-effects of an unknown attack at great range, things that would show Sakura was at the same level as Tsunade and Sakura creates more bridges/connections with the rest of the world and Konoha. Naruto got a bridge named after him from the Zabuza and Haku fight, Kakashi has his memorial stone, and Sasuke has the Uhicha grounds where the massacre happened. Sakura would either get a cure, a hospital, or a new group in a village where their medical knowledge and practice were poor and if someone asked them how it came to be they would answer "Haruno Sakura". I want her to have something almost physical or great being associated with her. She would be fighting to protect what she is in the process of healing and the connections she is making. At one point I want her to have a moment of "You think destroying something is hard? Trying healing something. That's hard. It requires patience, and courage, even more, when the person you are trying to heal doesn't want to be healed."
By the time they grow up to the war and major battles, she has grown strong, maybe even developed that long-range healing ability, but she grows strong by healing, making connections, and working together with the rest of the Konoha 13. While Sasuke and Naruto are fighting, she would be with the rest of the teams, healing the injured, doing these crazy moves, maneuvers, and plans she developed when training with the Konoha 13 and their teams when training to get stronger. At one point she joins back into the main fight and when their numbers grow weak or something, these would be an almost Katniss scene where Katniss sings In the Hanging Tree song where regular civilians, people who have also been affected by war just as much as shinobi come in and help in the fight in some sort of way. Yes, it doesn't make sense that a whole bunch of people who don't know how to fight would join in on a certain death battle, but it would add to the flare of Shinobi and Civilians uniting which would circle back to Sasuke and Naruto being the reincarnation, Sakura would be the embodiment of union.
Finally, when it comes to Sakura's personal relationships, she goes back to being friends with Ino, gets that respect and connection with the rest of Konoha 13, and heals the bond with Kakashi when he goes into retirement or at the end of the war with Might Guy in a wheelchair. As for Sasuke, yes, he would still go on his redemption around the world, however, he could either still get with Sakura AFTER a couple of years where they keep in contact like comrades, equals, friends, with mutual respect where he makes up for how the way he treated her and she sees him as a valuable person in her life rather than someone to bosses with. OR they could stay as very close platonic friends with a thick base of respect. Naruto would still end with Hinata, but Sakura would help Naruto with all the heavy non-combat work when he becomes Hokage, encouraging Hinata in the pair's relationship as husband/wife and soon Father/Mother. She would still be head of the Hospital but would also help develop all the flaws in the systems when there was the conflict between Shinobi and Civilians and between Konoha and the rest of the world. Sasuke would not only see the efforts of Sakura by the way people outside of Konoha talk about her but what she helped build, while at the same time helping his redemption and keep updated with potential opportunities for alliances, exchange, etc. In Konoha, she would help with the orphanage, something we can see if poorly done when we see Naruto, Sasuke, and Kakashi, suffer when they had no family left and were alone. The hospital would grow, because let's be honest shinobi aren't that big on healing, they are more practiced in combat, psychological help, therapists, etc. Whether she gets with Sasuke, or someone else, to stay single is up and left to the open.
Okay, Im done with my rant, and looking back just realized I wrote an entire essay. Sorry.
Imagine if she learned from the people she fought with and used the chakra strands that puppeteers like chiyo uses to heal others from a distance, imagine if she used poisons like sasori with genjutsu and 100 seals healing and some level of 8 gates and essentially combos together temporary really powerful mode 😳

Reaallly looking forward to more rewrites, especially your take on Hinata - As someone who loved her in part 1 and hated her progression throughout Shippuden and beyond, I think there's a LOT of stuff to say about her.
(In all fairness to the Sasori fight, Chiyo herself says that Sakura pretty quickly got to the point where she didn't need Chiyo's help at all. Chiyo just kept her alive long enough to learn Sasori's attack patterns, and I'm pretty sure we're meant to infer that after that point pretty much everything we saw from Sakura was her skill alone. Still one of my favourite fights in the whole damn series :D )
And then she should've been promoted to Jonin after defeating Sasori as the Akatsuki is specifically made for S Rank.

I'm always seeing videos criticizing her as a character, but I genuinely love your video, because I can tell it's made out of a place of love for the series, as well as show comprehensive ways to improve her character. Strong marks all around 😸
I really enjoyed a fanfic I read like a decade ago where Sakura was stuck in a time loop and used her intelligence to figure out what was going on and slowly extend the loop farther and farther. It makes great use of her healing abilities, and even makes use of her "inner sakura" gag as a major plot point. It's called Time Braid, and was one of the first fanfics I read. Definitely wish we got that kind of writing from the main series.
I also like the scene when she went up the tree first before sasuke and naruto. And then sasuke actually didnt like that and naruto asked her questions of how she did that.
Agency is the summary of pretty much everything you said. I love Sakura but she's pretty much a 90% reactionary character with basically no real motivations beyond very very basic ones. It's one of the oldest writing pitfalls and very much a "men writing women" problems. It's not rocket science but it's taking writers both east and west a bit to catch on broadly
This was great. I still think she should’ve gotten eight gates. Long range medical jutsu could work like Minatos seals & teleportation. She can leave seals on ninja & those seals receive chakra thru a time space situation.

what if during the sasori fight, Sasori cuts the strings Granny Chiyo is using to control Sakura but Sakura learned and reacted naturally to the puppets? that way she reasonably improves mid fight. Maybe even go as far as to have Granny Chiyo say that now she can focus more on her own puppets as she doesn't need to worry about Sakura as much
honestly the thought of sakura fighting sasuke and completely flooring everyone with how strong she's gotten is so cathartic
The best thing about sakura is her potential. She had so many things to develop, so many things to show and problems to solve (issues with parents and family which narusasu had nothing to do with for understandable reasons, uchi naru sakura as her 2nd personality (really interesting inner conflict between disciplined and hot-tempered sakuras), genjutsu training with Kurenai for example, earth and water jutsus, creating her own one, usinf a slug sage mode or something like that, caring about being a shinobi but not about your appearance, loving the person who treats you well, representing the idea of hard-working and loving yourself).
With naruto sakura definitely was herself (he was too; with hinata naruto is dumb and way calm) and, without a shadow of a doubt, he was a good couple for her.
She had a lot of things to study. Sakura could not just copy tsunade but become somebody like Orochimaru who knows a lot and can do a lot. Being the smartest among kakashi students haruno could have been the brain of team 7. Shikamaru would have been a great teacher of strategy for her. She could have befriended Lee with Hinata and neji, asked them to teach her taijutsu that also would have improved their relationship. So many interesting fights were not shown with her (itachi - genjutsu type, kabuto - medical ninja, sasuke - 5 kage sammit arc, konan - a talented woman vs a hard-working girl). Her friendship with Ino had an opportunity to make them soulmates just like naruto and sasuke, represented a sisterhood in this story. The relationship with uchiha would have been interesting too: she could have moved from an obsessive girl not able to tell him off to a lady being herself with her comrade and ready to punch this boy to bring him to life if he starts freezing up like the mc sometimes. Not only naruto but she also could have helped him change for the better and been that person who forgave him but stayed his good friend and believed in him, saw the light in sasuke.
My question: was it that difficult to write? Well, what am I talking about? Even her trainings and parents weren't shown in the manga, let alone something else. Sakura obviously is the biggest wasted potential of kishimoto
I think Sakura is a prime example as to why a female voice and perspective is useful to have in a writers room. For all intents and purposes Kishimoto was an amateur-ish writer when Naruto was written and took off so one cant blame him for being unable to write every single character to perfection but somewhere along the line, after all the criticism about certain characters being poorly written, surely he shouldve hired some help, maybe some assistants, someone to bring in fresh ideas. Perhaps Kishimoto took the trope of a writer writing characters that they wish they were like in real life or fantasize being like and just poured his hardest into writing cool male characters and the females were just add-ons. But a glaring mistake I cant get over is the fact that after all the shit, Sakura ends up with Sasuke. Even if they didnt want to kill him off, after the war Sasuke shouldve left the village or whatever area to venture into the world and be a potential future enemy for Naruto to face as Hokage (Maybe dont have them bury the hatchet towards the end of the show) That way Sakura can move on with her life and not be a huge walking advertisement for Stockholm syndrome
By far one of the best videos explaining a female character in Shonen. Could you please do a video about Hinata. I also feel the same way about her. She has a lot of potential but it's wasted. One of the biggest issue I have with her character is in the boruto story line. Her character is dumb down to being a housewife. Keep up the good work!

We waited months for Sakura to "get gud" just to be let down again and again. While he tried desperately to make Sasuke not suck ass lol! The fight with Sasori was hands down one of the best fights ever! Would've absolutely loved to see her use Genjutsu in that fight, and they needed it!

I loved this, would definitely love to see more rewritten characters. Honestly, the plot wouldn't even need to be changed that much for this to happen. This makes so much sense and perfectly fits the plot and storyline. It would be nice to see other characters getting rewritten since it was pretty interesting. Hinata would be a nice character to see, she had so much potential but it got wasted just like Sakura. The same happened with Rock Lee, he got nerfed in Shippuden and Boruto.

I really wish the main 3 had arcs with each of them as the main character. It would have been cool to see each of their sage training done as a mini arch (even if it was filler) so that we could see them struggle and shine separately.

Not just genjutsu, but Sakura should have gotten chakra nature training just like Naruto did. It could have been really cool to see her fighting with a combination of enhanced physical strength, genjutsu, and say Earth or Water release jutsu and also being a strong support with healing mastery. She could have been a really interesting and fun character to see fight if given some basic elemental abilities and following up on the set-up for her genjutsu/chakra control ability.
I am a Sakura lover and I agree with all of this haha. I also thought that during the time skip of the end of naruto to boruto era she would have thought to learn to release some of the eight gates. At least the fifth gate.

Maybe have Sasuke insult her for being boy-crazy, and Sakura takes it especially hard and gives in to her anger, calling Sasuke an evil monster who couldn't even acknowledge the love a young girl had for him. Sakura goes on to make the point that even if Sasuke rejected her, she would've preferred that outcome to the one where Sasuke isn't even human anymore. Sakura then tells Sasuke to rely on Orochimaru like always, and show her just how ugly he's become, how deformed he is, and how unlike the old Sasuke he is now. He's no longer the cool, quiet skilled shinobi from the Leaf village, he's just a monster.
I believe at this point, Sakura still believes Sasuke has a curse mark.
Sasuke tells her she's annoying, and she revels in it, saying that because she was annoying, she came to realize her true self and what she was truly meant for: a skilled kunoichi from Konoha who's destined to save others, and she's going to do just that even if it kills her. Sasuke sees Itachi in her, and gets even more angry that there are still ninja willing to fight and die for Konoha. Sasuke, in a moment of weakness, becomes emotional and yells at her that Itachi's sacrifice was wasted on people like her.
I dunno if Sakura knows the Itachi story or not at this point, but she'll react accordingly.
Then Naruto and Kakashi step in. Later on, Naruto tries to get Sakura to understand why Sasuke is so angry. She uses Genjutsu to see into his mind and Naruto shares the pain he felt when he lost Jiraiya and confronted Nagato. Sakura remembers when Naruto almost died using the 4-Tails and almost died using the 8-Tails, she sees in Naruto's memories how much pain he was in. She thinks about a life in which Naruto is dead, and she can't handle it. She starts to understand Sasuke a little more now, and thanks Naruto, declaring that if anyone can save him from the darkness, it's the two of them.
One of the things that characterized the manga after the time skip, for me at least, was waiting for cool stuff to happen that never did. Chief among those things was finally seeing Sakura grow beyond the damsel in distress archetype. I think at some point I stuck with it out of habit more than anything, and I dropped it when Naruto ended, but I gotta say... your enthusiasm is slowly convincing me to start reading Boruto... warts and all.
As someone who had more or less the same reaction as you did to Sakura throughout Shippuden, I will say that the character of Sarada may well be the antidote you're looking for :)

Man I was right there with you! They kept hinting about Sakura's potential: incredible chakra control, inner-demon strength, mental acuity, etc. But in the end she just kind of fizzles which is such a shame.

i have always thought it would be really cool for sakura to have almost mastered being immune to genjutsu by the time she tries to kill sasuke. I would've loved to see a weakened sasuke who's been actively too dependent on overusing his sharingan try to use it on sakura and her break it relatively quickly. I think it would be a great way to show how much growth she had from training, while also having sasuke experience internal conflict about his own strength outside of his visual prowess. i think this could have inspired both of them to be stronger. this was a fun watch. i agree lol .
Sakura truly had it rough because she was a main character that got treated like a glorified side one. She was average, not special in any way, lacked the resources like chakra to perform at the same level as most ninjas, yet got bodied by writing and those around her taking all the attention.
Sakura hardly got trained at all before the time skip because naruto was getting training from jiraiya and sasuke was being the favorite child for kakashi who btw didnt teach sakura ANYTHING like literally. Kakashi before the 3rd round of the chunin exams focused entirely on sasuke. He didnt give sakura any direction to improve herself, teach her any basic jutsu or genjutsu (like he said shed be good at), or even send her to anybody to get some special training. He completely abandonded her growth for sasuke and naruto. Sakura didnt really know her strengths at all and only until just before shippuden comes around that she finally gets trained. But this only happened because SHE took the initiative not kakashi or tsunade. Sakura had to make the move because nobody else pointed her in the right direction.Her strength before the 3rd round was completely stagnated because of how shitty of a sensei kakashi was to her. He never made time for her personally and only trained her when it also involved naruto and sasuke. Sakura could have been so much greater if her growth wasnt totally stunted by those in charge of helping her grow completely ignoring her existence and playing favorites. I love the theory about giving Sakura long range healing! Maybe by learning genjutsu early and adding previous battle Exp (Ino hair chakra transfer + granny chio long range accurate chakra control), she could heal/ fight with genjutsu. in the early fighting games, they showcase her "inner Self" from the anime. What if that could have been a "physical genjutsu" which is something we don't have in the series outside of her.
I’m sorry but the Sasori vs Sakura fight definitely required chiyo to contol her in my eyes. Considering Sasori was incredibly strong and much much stronger than this current Sakura. It would be so strange if a Sakura who is still sorta starting out managed to beat a very strong akatsuki member never the less even keep up with him. Even low balling him each akatsuki member should be able to handle a kyubi in some fashion and Sakura ain’t anywhere up there.

Sakura was already the hard counter to Sasori and the latter had also spent a few days with no sleep helping seal the Shukaku. Plus if I'm to believe that a teenage Itachi can beat a Sanin in the blink of an eye and fetus Minato can track and knock out a team of Cloud Shinobi I can believe Sakura can keep up with evil Pinochio here.

@@obtusem5015 it kind of confuses me if Kishimoto stated that cause it really doesn’t make sense. Even the way the fight was portrayed, she was concerned she wouldn’t be able to dodge everything consistently enough. I never saw this as a failure for her though because the original comment writer was right, Sasori was supposed to be an extremely powerful member of the Akatsuki, her realizing her current skill level compared to a superior opponent and working with a stranger to create a winning strategy was an absolute win for her in my eyes. I just wish they would’ve given her some solo wins before and after.
Personally, to me it makes perfect sense that someone who has sustained many losses in combat, would want to get stronger, as someone who is totally blind, and often feels like a burden to people, I can completely understand why merely not wanting to be a burden would galvanize people to want to gain strength, so from where I'm sitting, that is an actually realistic motivation. To me, it gives her a sense of relatability, initially she was so obtuse she didn't even realize that Sasuke was an orphan just like Naruto, in a lot of ways she had to get over herself, and the personally, the her constantly hitting Naruto is something that I could not stand, I can't stand it when Sunade does it either. People talk about toxic masculinity, but no one wants to address the point of, constantly showing this boy getting hit by this girl, and in the case of Sunade this woman, that teaches that this is perfectly acceptable, and it's not, if it was the other way people would have a problem with it, but people think it's simply comedic when it's done female to male, this is one of the many reasons that a lot of shonen anime bother me.

Women don't hit men in Japan as often as they do in the west, though reported cases of this happening have been increasing over the years, that's why I think they can see it as a comedic trope over there. It is definitely a double standard but its simply a cultural difference. Here in the west many people hate Sakura simply because she hits Naruto all the time, I wouldn't say its a stretch that a majority of western fans dislike Sakura in general. However, in Japan she is much more liked, though she does have her fair share of haters over there as well. Most of them don't bat an eye at Sakura hitting Naruto for comedic affect because its a trope that they see all the time and have seen for many years.

And yes, I do find it extremely strange, that he pointed out all of these different characteristics given to Sakura, even going so far is pointing out that it's toxic masculinity, but said nothing about the flagrant examples of abuse that were all throughout the show.
@@NenoInDa619 yes I caught it, while I did like a lot of the altered characterization that he chose, a lot of the different plot points he chose, I almost did not click on this video, because I had a sneaking suspicion of exactly what it was going to be, and unfortunately, I wasn't wrong, a lot of, this is a negative portrayal of women, she's a damsel in distress, it's an example of toxic masculinity, and when you consider that Kishimoto didn't even originally create Sasuke until he was encouraged to do so, and Sakura was an afterthought, what did you honestly expect, he originally wanted to write a story of a three man squad, and I really enjoy nick's channel, don't get me wrong, I'm just tired of having morality sermons in seemingly everything I come in contact with. But even use essentially all the same talking points.

But as u said the underlying feel of "women aren't represented well" agenda in some vids turn me off cause I don't feel that is the case in naruto. Toxic masculinity is a pretty strong narrow minded term to b using especially in conversation over anime as well as just sounds off being said through a man. Felt like the vid wasn't even about the show anymore after that I couldn't even watch the 2nd half

I just came across your videos recently, so I assume you won’t see this, but I’ve gotten the impression after watching the show for the first time over the last few months, that Genjutsu was reserved for antagonists/villains, which made it feel like it was more of a, for lack of a better term, plot device to make the villains seem scarier, as the heroes never knew what was real and what wasn’t.

I was thinking of the same thing how Sakura could have made more of an impact. I thought she could be crowned the slug queen. tsunade giving her her seal and it creating a crown seal that could reflect gen jujitsu. Giving her the ability to summon the full slug summon with her Power x tsunade power

I think when sasuke was drained in the fight Sakura had the potential to injure him and get a clean hit in ,but she they always made her pussy out. It made no sense for her to come their and than back down on her original intent.

I really like your take on Sakura, and what she could have been had Kishimoto been interested in writing her as anything other than Tsunade jr. Another thing though that could be added, is Sakura actually getting over Sasuke over time, and us getting to see that progress. Have Sakura acknowledge the fact had Orochimaru not stopped him, Sasuke would have killed her, Naruto, and Yamato and Sai with kirin. Since she's learning from Kurenai, have her see how Asuma and Kurenai act around each other, or have Tsunade tell her about Dan and from there have her, even subconsciously, compare how Sasuke treated her, to how Asuma treats Kurenai, how Dan treated Tsunade and over time realize how he treated her, and continued to treat her at their latest encounter was wrong, that he is somebody who she should not want to be in a relationship with, because he's never respected her.
That way when you get to the Land of Iron arc, Sakura genuinely is no longer in love with Sasuke, and has no issue going full out in a fight against him
Going down the route of Sakura's ninja Jesus medical ninjutsu, she could have used it after the last Naruto and Sasuke fight to heal them both, but then consider to kill Sasuke for all the pain he caused her. Then she would realize how this only perpetuates the cycle of hatred, and choose instead to use her godlike power to haywire Sasuke's chakra network forever, depriving him of his ninjutsu. Just like Aang did with Ozai. She can realize that he doesn't deserve the power he has, because he only used it with cruelty, and that power is meant instead to protect (Naruto's way) and to heal (her way)
I've turned into a Sakura fan over time, it took a while but I don't mind. She just had a much slower growth arc in general

In fact, the only time the video in its 30 minutes touches upon the concept of Sakura killing Sasuke was a single sentence, in which the video creator SAYS "obviously Sakura shouldn't kill Sasuke," then goes on and on about generic Sakura development that I could find in hundreds of other videos, rather than go into detail about what the TITLE says.
Don't make a 30 min video titled "Sakura Should've KILLED Sasuke" , then only touch upon that concept in 1 single sentence, and that 1 sentence rescinding where you were going and literally saying Sakura shouldn't kill Sasuke.

I had this fun idea where sakura is the first to suggest breaking down the clan barriers. She starts learning techniques from other clans through her friends and combines them in exciting ways. Maybe she uses beast transformation along with body expansion. shadow stitching to slow down the oponent long enough to land a precision palm strike. And, of course, 8 gates + hundread healings.
By the end of shippuden she's forced to leave the village because of her transgressions telling Naruto that he's still got work to do before someone as pragmatic as her can be accepted.

basically boils down to Ino went out of her way to be nice to Sakura help her with being bullied and was very close to her then sakura threw it in Inos face cause they both liked the same boy.

I could see Sakura killing Sasuke if Sasuke never came back around during the war. And if she did, she would be more worried about Naruto than feeling broken up about it herself. Not because she's evil, but because she up until the SasuSaku retcon, had increasingly seen Sasuke as just a former comrade who, yes, she was on good terms with, but is simply now too far gone and naturally, needs to be stopped. She really seemed as though she had become more mature and grounded than Naruto and that, from the blind crush, trend following infatuation, simpy girl from part 1, was by far my favorite thing about her. She was kindof a breath of fresh air at times. Ah well. I'm not saying they couldn't have somehow ended up together if you really need it once Sasuke has reformed and *years* down the line it just happens somehow in a far flung epilogue, but holy shit, not then, and not like that.
