It might be a little more dynamic if the birds didn’t move up and down in sync with each other It might not end up having any effect on gameplay but I imagine it might make it a little more challenging
ah it was confusing at first cus i interpreted it as the birds flying backwards towards the stationary pipe, maybe there needs to be some visual info that the pipe is moving towards the birds?
This actually looks sick, great job Only suggestion is to speed up how long it takes for the pipe’s gap/mouth to get smaller. Most average Flappy Bird runs I’ve seen really only make like 5 to 10 points before it is over; that’s the fun of the grind. If you make the gap smaller quicker I think it would add to the replayability a lot.
Me: I’ve seen this before. Him: what do you mean it’s brand new. I remember a game where a bunch of flappy birds come from the left side of the screen with a single pipe and you just tap to close the pine the pipes smash leaving a bloody mess, there was no way to move the pipe up or down though.
Apple users: Oh no, i cant use flappy bird anymore. Android users: Wait, lemme just download these specific versions of flappy bird that should be totally incompatible by now on a brand new phone.
Yo you might not read this but I was the person that you where talking to about not giving up. My friend recorded that and showed me and I just wanna say thank you very much. I related to everything you said. :)
I remember playing a game similar to this a few years ago, except instead of moving the pipe up and down, taping smashed the pipes together. I Remember it being a very gore-y game.
There is actually a very well polished and fun version of this game on the app store with like 3 or 4 different modes from crush to original. Im sure the person who recommended it got the idea from it. Nice work though in a very efficient time.
Really cool idea, would love to see this game even further expanded with perhaps more things to catch that either has a movement pattern or just goes a bit faster and perhaps some objects that your not suppose to catch.
i remember playing a game similar to this on my phone, but instead the pipes were static and you controlled when they crushed, i can't remember the name of it though
Oh I should try and add making actions automatic to my game design tool kit. It makes sense but ive always thought of the simple controls in terms of one action doing multiple things, not necessarily the idea of making certain actions passive or dependent on position rather than a button press.
Awesome Devlog Vimlark! You should definitely consider publishing this in some way. I feel like with a little more into this it'd be the perfect sorta thing for Streamer/TH-camr Bait.
One thing I would like in the game is it speeding up over time. I think its something personal but if the game speed changes it feels more like progress to me and less repetitive. The game however is great!

Glad the devlogs are back. This one looks great especially after the update
i Agree
lmao this is great, especially the sfx
making something like this in just 3hrs is mega impressive too!
I'd say the most impressive part is him knowing EXACTLY what he is going for and not having to constantly reiterate.
@@Jay-og4yb Yeah, coming up with an exact idea sticking to it, and making it work out as well
It might be a little more dynamic if the birds didn’t move up and down in sync with each other

Great devlog, love how the community contributes to the brainstorming. Fab idea too.
I love how Flappy Bird has become a game that people copy in their first project. Love the new and creative take on it!
This was a really cute idea. The updated art looks fantastic. I love how skilled you are at executing on a game idea.

I love the finished look of the game. Nice work! And the Tri-jam sounds really fun actually, I’ll have to give that a shot!
I remember playing a similar game years ago called crushy bird
Looking it up, it was actually flappy crush
its surprisingly fun
I have it on my phone rn
Man... i really love your devlogs
This is just flappy crush
In the polished version of the game, I love how the bird looks up at the pipe before getting chomped. Great detail!
Me: I’ve seen this before.
Him: what do you mean it’s brand new.

the game is called flappy crush
@@lowiekerkhofs5350 thanks I forgot what it was called.
This game already exists.
Its called "flappy crush"
Apple users: Oh no, i cant use flappy bird anymore.
Android users: Wait, lemme just download these specific versions of flappy bird that should be totally incompatible by now on a brand new phone.
Finally! I got this idea and i sent it in your twitch chat ! I love your videos ^^
Really? If that's true, that's awesome xD
@@BlueSodaPop_ yes! :D
flappy crush
when you get to score 999, Mario should come out of the pipe and get eaten by a giant bird
This is literally the just a different mode for flappy crush
I ❤ your devlogs! Always fun to watch
hi! :D
Yo you might not read this but I was the person that you where talking to about not giving up. My friend recorded that and showed me and I just wanna say thank you very much. I related to everything you said. :)
lots of fun! loved the going back and adding polish! Really like seeing the MVP, and then seeing what it can become with polish.
Wait a minute isnt there a mobile game which is called flappy crush and works like this (flappy crush was created in like 2017)
I remember playing a game similar to this a few years ago, except instead of moving the pipe up and down, taping smashed the pipes together. I Remember it being a very gore-y game.
Lemme guess, Flappy Crush?
@@colemartin6969 yup, I actually ended up redownloading it after watching this video.

Nice work though in a very efficient time.
There's actually a game called Flappy Crush, and it's far more cruel...
The idea reminds me of an old game called flappy crush
I love this, I tried doing a 3d one with a hoothoot instead of normal bird but I love yours 1000 times more
Nice seeing your progress and you having the time and the patience to stay on gamedev topic 🙂
I love the fact devlogs are back. You are my favourite TH-camr by they way! 😊
Really cool idea, would love to see this game even further expanded with perhaps more things to catch that either has a movement pattern or just goes a bit faster and perhaps some objects that your not suppose to catch.
i remember playing a game similar to this on my phone, but instead the pipes were static and you controlled when they crushed, i can't remember the name of it though
flappy crush
I too use to play flappy crush
Flappy Crush was awesome
For me as a indie game developer this is super inspiring how you can make such a simple game and yet make it fun… you truly amaze me
Oh I should try and add making actions automatic to my game design tool kit. It makes sense but ive always thought of the simple controls in terms of one action doing multiple things, not necessarily the idea of making certain actions passive or dependent on position rather than a button press.
Reverse flappy bird already exists
Yeah but his is way better.
Awesome Devlog Vimlark! You should definitely consider publishing this in some way. I feel like with a little more into this it'd be the perfect sorta thing for Streamer/TH-camr Bait.
This so cool, oh my God. Also, great devlog 😊
flappy cruch remake
love that jam, the only jam I have time for :)
this just flappy crush.
That's what I was thinking
So good for how simple it is, would love to see more games like this made, as in, simple but good :)
One thing I would like in the game is it speeding up over time. I think its something personal but if the game speed changes it feels more like progress to me and less repetitive.
The game however is great!
That QR code thing at 6:50 is nuts
this game already exists
Publish this as a mobile game. And gradually reduce the size between the mouth based gradually based on the points. This looks so amazing.
Good to see you back! Great game, i need to participate in a game jam myself sometime
when I saw the titly I thought he was the creator of flappy crush
Great video! Love the final result!
@3:23 haha "rise" and "fall" 😆
Good job, Carburger191! I don’t know if anyone has credited you, but amazing concept!
it's half of my life since flapy birds
Oh boi, flappy birb was 8 years Ago?? My back hurts
Amazing, thanks for sharing Vimlark. :D
not gonna lie, your self made sounds are awesome
reminds me of an old flash game called 'Spike a love story'
Big Shout-out to catburger191 for the amazing idea and literally making this video exist
I love the sound effects soo much ❤️
how did you get those monkeys with the platforms? i wanna try dat!
This looks really good.
I love those monkeys, are they displaying the chatmessages? Haven't seen that before
"the quick *rise and fall*"
pun intended?
I've been seeing so many ads for SNHU recently, I'm only one term away from graduating with my bachelors in Comp sci from their online program lol
Great Vlog! Amazing Idea Too!
Should've added a Mario reference when someone reaches 999 for a boss battle against Mario (That you can't win).
nice, the game turned out really well for only 3 hours. I really like the goofy nature of it.
We’re did the bottom money playground come from?
Dude i love ur stuff keep it up
4:14 and people now are saying what the problem is with addiction towards entertainment
I knew that people back then were smarter
So it's flappy crush, but more traditional
what website did you make the game
Love that bassy microphone 🎧
This is quite awesome not gonna lie
LMAO! I love the sounds!
Looks like something from Banjo-Kazzoie!
You could make the player go faster every 5 points always so it’s harder the more you play instead of harder until 50
There should be more type of birds that have special stuff like very slow birds or fast ones also this could become a rythm game lol
Ohh this is some creative!! awesome!!
Jesus I forgot just how bad the fallout of the flappy bird removal was. People are weird.
Thanks for the Video!!
A game like this already exists its called flappy crush
Nice! I also love Trijam
You should Release it on the App store !
Yooo I played this game like 5 years ago on my phone
The people that were cussing the dude out for deleting flappy bird are the worst people
Wait IT WAS YOU THAT MADE THIS thank you it was very fun when I played it :> gareenteed sub from me
The game looks great!
Good day now
Haha what a fun game concept!
